Sat 7.30am 12 noon Kevin Gay Owner Ph: DARTS ADJUNCT NEWS Just an update from our latest games that were played away from the Levin Cossie Club. On Valentine s Day 8 players set off from Levin at 6am heading to Waitara to play in the Tiny Ireland Tournament. As the format is only 1 leg of 501 it is pretty hard to get warmed up, so it really took us a few games to get going, anyway both teams qualified, which was awesome. So two Levin teams in the top 8. Great effort. Both team pushed their opponents hard but it all came down to that last game and that pain in the butt DOUBLE. Fun day... Day 2 was the Mixed Pairs with two teams participating. Gregory s team got through to the main round but met their match when up against the eventual winners Waitara Team Pitihira found great form in the Consolation Round which saw them being the winners. Wahoo party time. March 4 th 7 th 2015 North Island Championships held in Hamilton. Six players headed up on the Tuesday for this great four days of darts, facing players from all over the North Island. Wednesday morning was the Mixed Pairs which saw D & D Pitihira and P & J Gregory go against another 142 pairs. Both teams again qualified and unfortunately Top 64 was as far as one team got. Great effort though. Thursday saw Men s & Ladies Pairs All 6 players in on this. The Men ended up with 137 Pairs and the ladies had 86 Holy Smoke huge entries. Sad to say our Ladies had only 1 win for the day as the doubles weren t jumping out and helping us. The Men s result saw both teams qualifying, with Shane W & Pat G coming 5 th. Great effort guys. After this day it was to the motel for a little R & R. Friday Ladies Singles (guys off to do BOY stuff) Again huge entries with 171 facing the boards. Both Dianne & Janine got through to the main round after tough section plays. Nearly 2 hours wait and we saw Dianne getting to top 32 and Janine to the top 64. Well done ladies, have tomorrow off and go shopping!!! Saturday last day and the biggest of the entries with 284 men standing up to the boards because they love Darts!!! Not much room and long games as they have to play the best of 5 legs. 9am Dave, Joe, Shane & pat got started and by 2pm they had done their first rounds 3 out of 4 got through to the top 142ish. Big effort guys and well done. After several hours of games the final was played. Best of 11 legs. It is definitely the survival of the strongest with Cody Harris from Manurewa taking out the title. On May 16 th our club is hosting the Matoe Trophy and on the 27 th & 28 th June we will be hosting the West Coast Champs!!

4 SENIOR MEMBERS January Approximately 26 Members participated in a Club BBQ in early January and enjoyed the music provided by Michael Hill at the Levin Cosmopolitan Club. February A trip to Southern Hawkes Bay included a visit to the Oruawharo Homestead near Takapau, where lunch was served to 33 club Members. The Dannevirke Services and Citizens Club was visited on the return trip to Levin. Inter Club Sports was also held at the Club. March An almost full bus travelled to the Castlecliff Club in Wanganui where Bowls, Pool and Darts were played. An enjoyable day out. General Club members continued to participate in Bowls, Pool and Cards on a weekly basis when not travelling out of the district. The Senior Members Club President and Committee continue to provide variety for all Senior Club Members on a regular basis. Bill Stirling Seniors Club Member

All profits will be given to the Horowhenua Health Shuttle. COMMUNITY NURSE VISITS Every month the Mutual Aid Service funds a registered nurse to visit the Club. This is an opportunity for you to have your blood pressure and sugar levels checked or discuss other health problems you may be concerned about.
