1 The North & South Trust Limited P O Box , Dominion Road, Auckland 1446 The North & South Trust Limited (NSTL) is a special purpose not-for-profit company that conducts class 4 gambling mainly to distribute in the Auckland, Tauranga & Hawkes Bay regions. The North & South Trust Limited is pleased to announce that during the period of 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016 it made grants of $4,949,370 (net of refunds) which is 43.33% of the gross proceeds generated (well above the minimum required 40%). These funds were used primarily for the development of amateur rugby and local communities within the Auckland, Tauranga & Hawkes Bay Regions. The Grants Process In accordance with section 109 of the Gambling Act 2003, the Net Proceeds Committee has conducted an annual review of the criteria, methods, systems and policies it uses for consideration of the applications for the distribution of net proceeds. This review was approved on 25 th May 2016 by the Net Proceeds Committee. The results of this review are: The objectives of NSTL remain unchanged, which is to maximize the proceeds that are applied to Authorised Purposes. The criteria, methods, systems and policies are believed to be working effectively and therefore have remained largely unchanged. Minor changes were made to approval letters, checklists and the application for funds. The criteria and conditions for allocation of grants have remained unchanged. The Directors and management continue to maximise the proceeds available through minimizing costs and implementing efficiency as well as ensuring full compliance with all gaming regulatory requirements.
