2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club A Letter From Head Coach Brent Budde Wolverine Nation, The next season is fast approaching. The players have begun preparing for the best year in Woodstock Football history. As with any successful program, we are always looking to improve. I am excited about the changes that are coming to the Woodstock Football program this year. I firmly believe the changes will help our players to be more successful and enjoy their experience of playing high school football more. The main goal of our program still remains the same. It is to help these young men continue to build and develop a STRONG and SOLID foundation so they can be not only champions on the field but more importantly they will be champions for life. We are going to build into them what we call the "Staple of Success". These are the characteristics that will lead them to being great husband, fathers, and members of society, which are the most important roles that they will have in their lives. We have put together this package to help ensure that everyone is on the same page with what our policies are and what are expectations are when it comes to being a member of this Woodstock Football family. I want to thank all of our board members and volunteers for all their hard work, time and effort. Without their help and dedication this program would not be as special as it is for the players. As the head coach, I am here to answer any questions or concerns that you may have now and in the future. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at brent.budde@cherokee.k12.ga.us or call my cell at Welcome to the Woodstock Football Family, WE ARE WOODSTOCK Brent Budde Coach Brent Budde Head Football Coach Woodstock High School 2

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club TEAM GUIDELINES Woodstock Wolverines Football has established a tradition of excellence on and off the field. Each individual is responsible for representing the entire football program at all times. These rules are only a basis for the excellence and professionalism that is expected of all players. Rules and Guidelines Uniform: As we are a team and want to look like at team and not individuals, ALL players need to be dressed the same. That said, all uniforms will be provided to the players with the exception of undergarments. Game Uniform: Players will wear the white game jerseys with navy cleats and navy socks. The navy cleats are part of the Player Package. Navy socks will also be provided, however if a player chooses to wear different socks, those socks must be solid navy in color. Any long sleeve undershirt must be WHITE in color and tight fit material (e.g. Under Armour). No hoodies will be permitted. All jewelry must be removed as it is in violation of GHSA rules for a player to wear jewelry. If a player is injured and unable to play they must wear their warm-up bottoms and their game jersey. Practice Uniform: Players will also be provided with a practice uniform. Navy socks are not required for practice. Undershirts can be any color. No hoodies are to be worn under the shoulder pads at practice. This is a safety issue. All jewelry must be removed. Cleats can be different from their game cleats it is recommended that players wear different cleats for practice. If a player is injured and is unable to practice they need to be in a pair of Woodstock Football shorts or warm-up pants and their practice jersey. Travel Rules: School and County rules apply to all students at all football functions. Chaperones and bus drivers are to be treated with respect and their directions are to be followed at all times. Use of offensive, abusive, or vulgar language and behavior is strictly prohibited. Use of tobacco, alcohol, or other illegal substances; are strictly prohibited. 4

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club TEAM GUIDELINES (CONTINUED) Disciplinary Measures: All guidelines of the Woodstock High School/ Cherokee County Student Handbook will apply at ALL times. Failure to abide by these rules and guidelines in addition to those in the Woodstock High School/ Cherokee County Student Handbook could result in the player s dismissal from the team, in addition to any further actions applicable to disciplinary procedures under the Cherokee County School system. 5

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club GAMES AND PRACTICES Attendance: It is important for players to understand that their attendance at camp, practice and games is imperative. Attendance at football camp, all practices and all games is MANDATORY. Excused absences are limited to the following: Illness with absence from school (must have doctors note for entire absence). Death or major illness of immediate family member (must have parents note). Injured players are required to attend practice unless excused by Coach Budde or under doctors orders. All players and parents need to understand the importance of players staying for the duration of all activities. Any player with an unexcused absence from practice will not be allowed to play at the next game; however the player will be expected to be in attendance at the game and in uniform with the team. Any player who has three (3) unexcused absences will be removed from the team. Any player with an unexcused absence from any game may be subject to removal from the football program. In the event that a player receives Alternative School or is suspended from school, then the player will not be permitted to attend any football function for the duration of the punishment. For example if a player receives Alternative School from a Thursday through the following Tuesday of a game week, then the player may not attend the Thursday practice, Friday game, or the following Monday practice. 6

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE One of the character traits we attempt to instill in our players is respect. Respect should be given not only to adults, but also to other students and players as well as themselves. We feel that this mutual respect is something that is essential to the healthy growth of our young men and women. Much like any large family, disagreements and arguments are bound to occur. How we encourage the players to deal with these conflicts will not only reflect on the players themselves, but on us as parents and teachers. Disciplinary Procedure: As we encourage positive problem solving skills, we must also have in place a system for discouraging inappropriate behavior, and we will address such inappropriate behavior as follows: 1 st Offense: Player will receive a warning. 2 nd Offense: Player will be subject to extra conditioning after practice or before school. 3 rd Offense: Player will be subject to suspension from part of or an entire game. In the event that a player is removed from a game due to disciplinary action, then the player will be required to attend the game in uniform and stand on the sideline for the remainder of the game. 4 th Offense: Player will be permanently dismissed from the team. The Woodstock Administration will be kept abreast of all players behavioral infractions. In addition, Dr. Weir and Mrs. Sebring also have the authority to intervene. With a consistent and fair approach to discipline, it is our intent that we encourage our players to use mature and respectful methods of dealing with conflict. 7

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club 9 TH GRADE PARENTS AND PLAYERS The 9 th grade team will play a six game regular season schedule. This year the 9 th grade and JV games will not be played concurrently, this means that both teams will play on the same night, but at different locations. All games will start at 6pm (if there is a time change you will be notified). If the team is playing away, they will travel to and from the games from the school by bus. You will need to pick up your player after the game at the high school. They cannot leave with you from the game. It does take some time for the players to get changed and to pick up their game jerseys for Friday, so please plan accordingly. Whenever there is a Varsity game on Friday night, the players will wear their game jersey to school. Thursday nights after practice (or games), the game jerseys will be handed out to the players. They will be worn to school during the day and returned to the coaches before they leave the field. Varsity game uniforms always stay at the school. They are turned in after the games on Fridays. JV and Freshman uniforms should be brought home by the player to be washed (you will need to remind them to do this). You will need a bag for the dirty clothes. Players have been assigned lockers with combination locks to keep all their gear (uniforms, cleats, pads, helmet, etc). Encourage your player to lock up all their personal possessions as well while they are on the field for practice or games to avoid loss or theft. Freshman players will dress out in full equipment with the Varsity team for all Varsity home games. They will not dress out or travel with the team for the away games, unless specified by Coach Budde. Due to budget cuts, we are unable to transport the Freshman players. However, Freshman are welcome and encouraged to attend away games at their own expense to cheer for their teammates. Freshman players will stay after school when they have a game or are dressing out. WWTC will feed all players before their games. Thursday nights will be a quick sandwich and a drink due to the small amount of time between school ending and travel/game time. Friday night meals will be larger. We need parent volunteers to help with serving and cleaning up the meals. Please see team mom to sign up for these opportunities. We need help with PARKING on Friday night games. Freshmen parents this is a great opportunity to volunteer (this is a fundraiser for the Touchdown Club). A sign up will be provided with dates and times. Players can bring their cell phones or MP3 players on the bus when they travel. Phones are handy so that players can call parents when they return to school so you can get an idea of when to pick them up. When traveling, all valuables should be left on the bus. They will not have a secure place to store personal items in the visitor s locker rooms. You can get a bag or case for them to put their stuff in while they are stored on the bus. For up to date information please contact your Team Mom We look forward to a GREAT season 11

2015 Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club WELCOME TO THE TOUCHDOWN CLUB Fellow parents, The 2015 season promises to be a significant year of growth for the Wolverines. In 2012 we created our website WoodstockFootball.Net to give parents and players a one stop shop to get all the vital information, registration and volunteering opportunities necessary to fully participate. We have realigned the Junior Wolverine and High School programs to improve our overall program for parents and players. Starting this February we will begin our speed, strength and agility training to improve every athlete on our team. As Always, our expectation that ALL families contribute both monetarily and through Time and Talent volunteering. Without volunteering and fundraising it would cost almost $2,000 a season for EACH player to participate Considerable reductions in funds from the school system have put our program in a position where Woodstock Wolverine Touchdown Club Members have to do more to make sure our players are SAFE, PREPARED and COMPETITIVE. In this Parent and Player Handbook, you will see the 2015 Woodstock Wolverine Touchdown Club Membership and Ticket Packages. You will see that we have tried to include almost every cost and fee, which a player would incur, into the Player Fees so you re not surprised mid-way through the season. We have taken into account players practice gear, spirit wear and even the cost of the required Nike team compression jersey. In our Navy, Cardinal and Platinum Packages we ve incorporated the same value ideas to give your family meals, tickets, and parking along with the recognition of being part of the Woodstock Wolverine Touchdown Club. Finally, in an attempt to accommodate everyone s needs, we have created an easy 3-part payment plan, made available the ability to complete online registration and we now also accept credit cards. All of this information is available on our website, woodstockfootball.net To A Great Season Pete Nani WWTC Director 12

2015 Woodstock Wolverine Touchdown Club NON-PAYMENT OF FEES We at the Woodstock Wolverines Touchdown Club understand that things come up and times are sometimes hard. In the event that you need to make other payment arrangements, please contact Coach Budde, Pete Nani, WWTC Director or Shannon Bass, Finance Director. Although we are unable to waive fees (unless under scholarship), we will try to make easier payment arrangements for you to enable your student to continue to play. Failure to pay football fees affects the entire football program as we are solely funded by fees or fundraisers. We are a non-profit 501c3 organization, which means every penny goes into the program and our budget is tight. This does not allow for non-payment of fees. Simply put - non-payment of fees and non-participation in fundraisers may result in the cancellation of some games. REFUND OR APPLICATION OF FEES Amounts overpaid or earned through fundraisers in excess of amount owed may be refunded to you by written request to Shannon Bass, Finance Director. Parents of underclassman may also choose to leave these funds in their player account for the following year. All amounts requested for refund should be made prior to the season end banquet in December, so that the WWTC can close the accounting for the year. If your request for refund is not made by that time we will hold any amount due in a player account for use the following season.

The following are some expenses that we need your assistance with for this season: Outfitting one player season - $ Sending tone player to football camp - $ Fuel and transportation to away games - approximately $3, As schools across the state continue to cut budgets, high school athletic programs have also had to cut their budget. For these reasons, we are asking for your help. As an integral part of this community, we are asking for your support this year.
