Two participants to be selected from class 4 and two participants from class Six teams make it to the final round. 4. The rules regarding the procedure of the quiz is decided by the quizmaster and his ruling in such matters is final. 5. Knock-out prelims will be held on the same day.

3 BOSCO DIVINE Class: 4 & 5 No. of participants: 20 Duration: 3+1 minutes Rules and Regulations: 1. There should be no record beat or music utilized. 2. The participating schools should carry their own instruments. 3. The selected song should be an English Hymn. 4. The concerned musician may be a teacher of the same school. 5. Participants should wear school uniform. 6. Marks shall be deducted for exceeding the time limit.

4 BOSCO chip (power point) Class: 5 No. of participants: 1 Duration of Presentation: 2 min Rules and Regulations: 1. Time allotted: 1 hour. 2. The slides are to be made at the venue. 3. Topic and the pictures will be given at the venue. 4. Judges decision will be final.

5 BOSCO taal (eastern folk dance) Class: 3, 4, 5 No. of participants: 12 Duration: 5 min + 5 min for stage set up. Rules and Regulations: 1. Exceeding the time limit leads to negative marking. 2. No movie songs allowed. Only regional or folk songs. 3. Props are allowed. Participants need to bring their own props. 4. Marks will be awarded for costumes. 5. Music must be in audio CD. 6. The school must submit the CD in the second representative s meeting. 7. Judges decision will be final.

6 BOSCO agitprop (Poster making propaganda) Class: 4 & 5 No. of participants: 2 Duration: 1 hour Rules and Regulations: 1. This is an individual event. One student each from class 4 and class 5 are required to take part. 2. Topic will be given at the venue. 3. Required drawing materials are to be brought by the participants. (Chart paper will be provided). 4. One participant from each class. 5. Judges decision will be final.

There will be 2 participants from each participating school. It is an individual event. 2. Students have to prepare vegetarian dishes. 3. No raw material will be provided by the host school. 4. Bottled/canned/packed items may be used by the participants. 5. Nothing to be prepared from home. Every preparation at the venue. 6. No boiled items to be used. 7. No electric appliances for cooking will be allowed. 8. Criteria for Presentation: a. Presentation of the item. b. Taste c. Novelty d. Attire of the participant. e. Cleanliness. 9. Judges decision will be final.

12 BOSCO PAPARAZZI (NEWS MAKING) Classes: 9-12 No. of participants: 3 (as a team) Time: 9am 12 noon (recording) 12 noon 1 pm (editing & submission) Rules and Regulations: 1. The event is a simulation of a news channel. 2. A video is to be recorded just like a news channel with a videographer and a news reporter. 3. A report of the same should also be written along with it (only in English). 4. A total of 2 events (only off-stage) need to be covered. 5. The news reporter must necessarily be in the video while the recording of the events are done. 6. Participants may interview members of the audience, participants and organizers but not judges. 7. Participants are expected to be on time at the said venue for the editing part as no extra time would be given for the same.

13 8. Photographs and videos must be taken through cameras and camcorders only. Mobile phones should not be used for the same. 9. Participants must bring their own cameras, laptops, pen drives, softwares, etc. The organizers would not be providing anything. 10. No vulgarity or criticism of any kind is permitted. 11. Originality and creativity will be rewarded. 12. The duration of the video must be (2+1) minutes and the report should be of a minimum of 300 words. 13. The report as well as the video has to be submitted latest by 1 p.m. after which no entries will be entertained. 14. The video as well as the report must be submitted in a pen drive. 15. Judge s decision would be final. Note: As the editing part of the event is expected to be done in the recess time, participants must have their lunch beforehand.

14 BOSCO BROKER Classes: 9-12 No. of participants: 3 Duration: 5+2 minutes per team Rules and Regulations: 1. From each school three participants will form a group. 2. Each team will be given a choice of few sectors with three companies each on the 2nd Representatives Meet. The participants will have to act as Stock Market Advisors and will have to endorse the given company as their investment advice to the customers. 3. Each team will have to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation showing the rationale behind their choice. They will have to convincingly present the reason behind choosing to invest in that particular sector and in that single company of the sector. 4. Participants have to bring their own Electronic Gadgets as per their requirement. No Internet Connection will be provided by the Host School. 5. Explanation of the Presentation has to be in English only. 6. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

15 BOSCO RATIONALE (DEBATE) Classes: 9 to 12 No of participants: 2 speakers from each school (1 for and 1 against the motion) Duration: 2+1 minute and an additional minute for rebuttal Rules and regulations: 1. No preliminary rounds to be conducted. 2. In case of the number of participating schools exceeding 10, the schools will be divided into groups of two and each group will be provided with a separate motion, but with the same set of judges and an unchanged venue. 3. Opposition can ask a maximum of one rebuttal question to every speaker. The participant asking the question does not get any point, however the participating answering the question will get the points according to his/her answer. No follow up questions will be allowed. 4. The group for or against emerges as the winner, according to their performance. 5. Arrogant behaviour will lead to disqualification.

16 6. The moderator s decision will be binding on each and every participant. 7. Use of any written matter, while speaking, will lead to disqualification. 8. The debate topics will be announced at the 2nd representatives meeting.

17 BOSCO CREATRIX (eco collage) Participants: 2 in a team. Classes: Category 1-6 to 8 Category2-9 to 12 Duration: 2 hours. Rules and regulations: 1. Participants need to bring their own materials. 2. Any five natural items (Fruits, Vegetables etc.) to be brought by each team. 3. No knives or scissors are to be used. 4. Pre-cut papers are not to be used. 5. Only chart papers will be provided to the participants. 6. Natural colours are to be used. Drawings with natural items are to be done. (Turmeric for yellow, lampblack, indigo etc.). 7. The themes will be provided on the day of the event. 8. There is a surprise which would be revealed to the participants on the day of the event. 9. The Judges decision will be final and binding on all the participants. 10. The participants list of the two different categories to be stated clearly in the participation form.

18 BOSCO ADMATAZZ (advertisement creation) No. of Participants: 6-8 Classes: 9-12 Duration: 3+1 minutes Rules and regulations: 1. Participants are required to create and enact original ads on the theme given. 2. Copying of advertisements from the print or electronic media is strictly prohibited. 3. The advertisements should broadly be in English. 4. Vernacular, if used, should not constitute more than 25% of the script. 5. Music, if used, should also be original and played by the performers themselves. A maximum of two musical instruments may be used. No pre-recorded music is allowed. 6. Use of appropriate props is allowed. 7. The use of humour and wit will be appreciated. 8. Any form of vulgarity will earn a disqualification. 9. Theme will be given at the 1 st Reps. meeting. 10. The product should be original and not one that exists in the market.

19 BOSCO JAM (Just A Minute) No of participants: 1 Classes: 9-12 Rules and Regulations- 1. The participants are challenged to speak for one minute on a given subject without repetition, hesitation or deviation. 2. Repetition means not repeating a particular idea or concept. 3. Hesitation will be weighed very strictly; even a momentary pause can give rise to a successful challenge, as can be in case of tripping over one s words. Even pausing during audience laughter can give rise to a challenge. 4. Deviation means basically deviating from the subject and sometimes deviating from universal truths or logic. 5. Importance will be given to grammatical errors, fumbling, stammering and pronunciation and marks will be awarded accordingly. 6. A participant scores a point for making a correct challenge against whoever is speaking, whilst the speaker gets a point if the challenge is deemed incorrect.

20 7. A participant who makes a correct challenge takes over the subject for the remainder of the minute, or more likely, until he/she is correctly challenged within the rules of the event. 8. A participant can also score point(s) if he/she is the speaker when the 60 seconds expire. He may gain another point for speaking the entire minute without being challenged. 9. A participant will be disqualified if found using vulgar words or terms. 10. The decision of the moderator will be final and binding on all the participants.

21 BOSCO BOULEVARD (Pretentious movie review) No of participants: 2+1. Duration: 5=1 minutes Specifications: 1. 2 member team for acting and criticizing, 2. The 3 rd member should be in charge of the technical equipments and the overall presentation. Rules and Regulations- 1. The participants are to review a movie and put up a presentation on the stage in the form of a critic show, a skit, or any other pretentious form desirable. 2. Participants are to be judged on the quality of language, the accuracy of their technical observations, the use of technical equipments, sense of humor, how apt the background score is and avoiding any kind of obscene gestures and language. 3. Vernacular can be used but majority of the presentation has to be in English. 4. The participants cannot copy-lift any scenes from any kind of movie critic videos. 5. Songs of the movie can also be criticized.

22 6. Failure to maintain the rules and regulations may lead to immediate disqualification. 7. The decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants. 8. The movies will be allotted to the schools via lottery at the 1 st representative s meeting.

23 Bosco Orientalice (Eastern Dance with face off) Number of participants: 4 Time: 4+1 minutes (1 st round) 2.5 minutes (2 nd round) 2 minutes (Final round) Rules and Regulations: 1. The event shall be conducted in 3 rounds. 2. In the first round, all the four participants must perform on the stage. The participants are allowed to choose any style but it should be an eastern dance form only. 3. Only 4 schools will qualify for the next round which is a face off. The schools which will face each other shall be decided by means of a lottery after the end of the first round. 4. The 4 participants from each qualified school shall choose only 2 participants among themselves who will perform in the 2 nd round. 5. The 2 nd round, which is eastern dance on western music, goes in this manner 1 st participant from both the schools will have the floor for 1 minute

24 2 nd participant from both the schools will have the floor for the next minute. Last 30 seconds- All the 4 participants (2 from each school) will perform together. Two schools will qualify for the finals. 6. Only one out of the two participants who performed in the previous round shall perform in the finals. This round is a fusion of both eastern and western music (eastern dance). In this round, one participant will perform for the first 30 seconds which will be followed by the other participant s performance for 30 seconds. During the last minute, the participants from both the schools will be performing together

25 Bosco Fusion No. of Participants: 8 Classes: 9-12 Rules and Regulations:- 1. Each school to send 3 vocalists and 5 instrumentalists at the most. 2. The performance may be a fusion of 2 songs or a medley. However, the theme should be kept in mind. 3. The performance needs to have at least one folk song and another soft Western music. 4. The genre for songs (if a medley) will be soft music. 5. There should be a merger. If there is no fusion, the school shall be disqualified 6. The total performance time should not exceed more than 8 minutes. This includes both performance and stage setup time i.e. (5+3) minutes respectively.

26 7. All instruments (including drum peddle) shall be brought by the participants themselves. Only the Drum Set will be provided by the host school. 8. ONLY 3 microphones (for the 3 vocalists) and 5 line outs (for the 5 instrumentalist) shall be provided. 9. The decisions of the judges will be final.

27 Number of participants: 2 Classes: 9-12 Duration: 4-2 minutes. Rules & regulations: Bosco RJ (Radio Jockey) 1. The theme for the performance will be disclosed only during the first representatives meeting. 2. Participants have to conduct a live performance based on the theme given during the meeting. 3. Two participants in a group should be selected and one group per school would be allowed to perform. 4. Each group will be given a MAXIMUM of 6 minutes. (4 minutes for speaking + 2 minutes for playing songs or music based on the theme). 5. Creativity and uniqueness in performance will be welcome.

28 6. Collection of songs and music is to be brought by the participating schools. 7. No vulgarity can be used. 8. The participants can converse in Hindi, Bengali and English. 9. The judges decision is final and binding.

29 Bosco TECH-WARZ No. of participants: 6(2+2+2) Classes: 9-12 Time : 4 hours Rules and regulations: Participants will have to bring their own laptops The event will consist of three sub events: a)webpage Designing(1.5 Hours) b)coding(1.5 Hours) c)rapid Fire IT Quiz(1 hour) 1. For the first event, the participants design a webpage on a given theme which will be given on spot for which the media files will be supplied by the Host School. 2. The second round will consist of coding for a certain problem given on spot by the Host School. 3. The language for coding will be Java/C++/Python. 4. Downloaded codes are not allowed. 5. The third round is the rapid fire IT Quiz in which the participants will have a single round Quiz on IT.

30 6. The participants of the three sub-events should not be the same. 7. Decision of the Quiz Master will be final in third round. 8. Each of the sub-events will have individual points and the final point of each school will be the total points added up of the three sub-events and the school with maximum points will be the winner and so on.

34 game play are not permitted. Players found using either will be penalized at the administrators discretion. Players should give their gaming alias as: (School name) (Personal alias). (e.g. DBL Bob) Tournament Guidelines: Any disconnection issues that cannot be resolved by the players in the match must be brought to the attention of an admin immediately. Any use of game exploits, cheats, or any other play deemed unfair by an admin may result in disciplinary action up to and including disqualification from the tournament. All players must save end-of-game score screen shots; in the event of a dispute, these assets will be used as evidence to determine the result of the dispute. Once the match starts, players will not be able to dispute a match on the grounds of match settings. Any use of the console should be done under the supervision of a volunteer. Any intentional abuse of pause by a player on the server will result in a disciplinary action to be decided by the administrator. In-Game Messaging and Communication: Competitors are not allowed to use global in-game chat in an abusive, offensive, vulgar or spamming manner, at any point during a match. This includes pre-match, intermission and post-match periods as well.

35 Violators of these rules are subject to penalties at the administrators discretion, which may include player suspension(s) or forfeiture of the match. All match disputes must be filed by a team captain during regulation play, or within 5 minutes after the match s conclusion Violations: Silent bomb plants Illegal methods of planting the bomb such that its beeping sound cannot be heard would be considered a foul. Shields Shields are prohibited to be used. Terrace Walk Use of invisible terrace on the maps is prohibited to use. Cheats Use of cheats of any attempt to use them would result in an instant disqualification 3 violations will result in a disqualification. Unintentional Issues: Server Crash The server machine crashes/freezes/etc. causing the match server to stop responding

36 Solution An administrator will restart the server, stop the tournament clock, and play will continue from the point of disruption. Points will be added to the amounts totaled before the crash and the tournament clock will be restarted once the game is live again. Client Crash A player s computer crashes/freezes/etc. causing the participant to be unable to continue play. Solution There can be a pause in the play, declared by a team captain at the freeze time of the NEXT round until the client can reconnect OR 5 minutes passes, whichever comes first.

37 BOSCO CERFIO (vegetable carving) Number of participants: 2 Classes: 9-12 Duration: 1 hour Rules and regulations: 1. Any number of fresh vegetables are to be brought and used by the participants for carving 2. Tools such as knives, scissors, tooth picks, pins, etc. are to be brought by the participants, if required. 3. Marks will be awarded on: a) Proper utilization of material. b) Presentation, creativity, and neatness of the display. Participants are allowed to use vegetables only.

38 BOSCO BIBLIOS No. Of Participants: 8+2 Classes: 9-12 Duration: 5+1 minutes Rules and Regulations: 1. All props must be brought by the participants. Tables and chairs will be provided, but the participating school must inform their requirements in the 2 ND representative meeting. 2. Live music is permitted microphones will be provided. 4. Vernacular languages are not allowed. 5. It need not be completely based on the Bible but should have a Biblical reference. The theme is I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

39 Classes: 9-12 No. of Participants: 4 BOSCO QUIZZARD (Quiz) Time: 1 hour (excluding prelims) Rules and Regulations: 1. The quiz will be conducted in two rounds. The first round will be the Preliminary Round which will be held in written format. 6 teams scoring the highest marks in the Preliminary Round will qualify for the Final Round, which will be held on stage. 2. The system of Infinite Bounds will be followed. 3. In the Final Round, the team getting the most number of points at the end of the Quiz will be declared the winners. 4. The decision of the quizmaster is FINAL.

40 BOSCO Publiques Classes: 9-12 No. of participants: 2 Duration: Speech: 1+1 minutes. Interview: 3+2 minutes. Rules and regulations: 1. The team will be allotted a celebrity on the 2 nd Representatives Meeting. 2. The team has to prepare a speech justifying the unlawful activities of that celebrity. 3. The other teams including the judges will question the team. 4. The team will be judged on their ability to tackle questions and save the reputation of the assigned celebrity. 5. The decision of the judge would be final.

41 BOSCO GROOVES (western dance) No. of Participants: 8-10 (including the CD operator) Classes: 9-12 Duration: 5+2(including setting of stage and performance) Rules and regulations: 1. A minimum of 4 participants should be on stage at any point of time during the performance. 2. One extra participant, who will also be registered, is required to operate the C.D, 3. Music and lyrics should be purely western. 4. Each team has to bring its own props (only tables and chairs will be provided by the host school) 5. Time for setting up of stage if required, using back-drops, prop, etc. will be included within the time limit. Points will be deducted on exceeding the time limit. 6. No vulgarity will be allowed. It will lead to disqualification of the team. 7. Judges decision is final. 8. CD s and the pen drives containing the music has to be submitted on the day of the 2 nd representatives meeting.

42 9. Choreographer/trainer will not be allowed to enter backstage, nor should he/she be present at the light and sound console. 10.Schools may show video-clippings during their performance. 11. The duration of the performance on stage must be broken up to (2+1+2) minutes- beginning with and ending with 2 minutes of group performance with a solo performance in the middle comprising of 1 minute. When the solo performer completes his/her dance for a minute, the rest of the troop joins for the last 2 minutes.

43 BOSCO SHERLOCK No. of participants: 3 per school. Classes: 9-12 Rules and regulations: 1. Each school will represent a group. 2. The different groups will be asked to solve codes and puzzles given to them in the crime scene(s) after being acquainted with a crime story. The participants are to investigate the scene and decipher possible clues leading to the necessary conclusion. 3. The conclusions would be presented before the judge and based on the scores the top 6 schools will qualify for the second round. 4. The specific rules for the second round will be made available to the qualifying schools on the spot. 5. Participants must not carry any external objects to the crime scene other than the necessary stationary to pen their conclusions. 6. Participants should take care that nothing in the crime scene is damaged or removed from its original position. Failure to observe this regulation may lead to disqualification. 7. The judges decision shall be final in all regard.

44 No of participants: 6-8 Classes: 8-12 BOSCO RESONANCE Time: 6+1 minutes. Rules and Regulations: 1. No singing or vocal whistling is allowed. 2. Participants must use only unconventional tools, such as pots and pans, buckets etc. Anything even remotely resembling a conventional musical instrument will earn a disqualification. The instruments are to be brought by participants themselves. 3. Adopted or original music can be played. 4. No sharp or hazardous objects should be brought as an unconventional tool. 5. Defaulters will be disqualified. 6. In all cases, the decision of the judges will be final and binding upon all participants. 7. Unconventional music with innovative costumes and stage act is preferred. 8. Only two unconventional tools of the same type will be allowed.

45 Bosco pic-o-graphy Classes: 9-12 No of participants: 2 Duration: 3 hours (Clicking pictures and editing) Rules and Regulations: 1. The event is basically telling a story through pictures. 2. Pictures will have to be clicked on a given theme in the school campus. 3. The theme will be given by the judges on the same day. 4. The team can break up and move about clicking pictures relevant to the theme given, within the allotted time pictures can be selected to tell the story. 6. Pictures can have a small caption only of about words. 7. Pictures must be arranged intelligently to tell the story. The team members will not be speaking while the slide show is on.

46 8. Participants are expected to be on time at the said venue for the editing part as no extra time will be given for the same. 9. Photographs must be taken through cameras only. Mobile phones should not be used for the same.

47 Bosco strikers- carrom No. of participants: 2(as a team) Classes: 9-12 Rules and Regulations: 1. A game consists of 28 points or four boards, whichever comes first. 2. The red queen, can be pocketed at any time after sinking the first piece by a team. 3. After pocketing the queen, covering it is not required. The winner of a board collects one point for each of the opponent s carom man left at the finish and two points for the queen, if pocketed by the winner. 4. The tournament will be conducted by the referees. Their decision with regard to interpretation of rules or any other matter will be final and binding. 5. The tournament will be held on league cum knockout format. 6. The participating schools are expected to get registered, latest by 8:30 a.m. and should then report to the referees at the venue. Participants are required to produce their recent photo identity of the academic session issued by their schools which would have the student s name, class and section, principal s signature, school seal and other relevant details.

48 Classes: 9-12 BOSCO CHECKMATE (CHESS) No. of participants: 3+1 Rules and Regulations: 1. The tournament will be played as per the half an hour rapid chess rules of F.I.D.E. 2. The tournament will be conducted by the arbiters. Their decision with regard to the interpretation of rules or any other technical matters will be final and binding. 3. The tournament will be held in five rounds. 4. The participating schools are expected to get registered, the names of 3+1 players, latest by 8: 30 a.m. and should report to the arbiters at the venue thereafter. 5. The tournament committee will draw the fixtures. 6. The host school will have two groups. 7. The tournament will be played together for boys and girls. No separate groups for boys and girls. 8. Names to be submitted by order of the board. 9. Rating of all the players to be submitted. 10. No team plays the same team twice. 11. Each team will play five rounds. 12. Players to carry their Identity cards for the academic session

49 BOSCO FANTASY LEAGUE Classes: No. of Participants: 4 Rules and Regulations: 1. There will be a quiz in the preliminary round based on IPL teams will be short listed after the preliminary round. 3. The teams selected will have to form a squad of 15 players. 4. Teams will be given a budget of INR 80 crore. 5. The teams can be questioned by the judges. NOTE: The teams need to be formed keeping in mind the players performance in Indian conditions and their form.

50 BOSCO INDOOR WAR Classes: 9-12 TEAM- (6+2) PLAYERS. Rules and Regulations:- 1. The matches would be conducted in a 4 over format. 2. All players should be wearing similar jersey. 3. Only the initial six players will be allowed to bat and bowl. NOTE: Other rules will be given on the spot.

The tournament will be played in a league cum knockout basis. 3. The player opting for single cannot play for doubles and vice-versa. 4. The result of the matches between two schools will be decided over the three sets (1 single s 1 double and second singles if required) of 11 points each. 5. The tournament committee will draw the fixture that will be displayed at the venue. 6. International rules and regulations adopted by T.T.F.I and B.T.T.A will be strictly adhered to.

53 7. All matches will be conducted by the officials from the B.T.T.A 8. Players must report to the Chief Referee at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the match. 9. If the number of the participating schools is less than 4, then the event may be cancelled. 10. Participants are required to produce a recent photo identity of academic session issued by their schools which should have the student s name, class and section, Principal s signature, school seal and other relevant details.
