2 2017 ompetition eason he new season will soon be in full flow with the aptains Drive-in on the 12 th arch followed by our first 18 hole ady s competition on uesday 14 th arch and our first men s competition on ednesday 15 th arch. lease note the following policy changes in relation to tee time booking on aturday s: layers on the timesheet before 2:30pm must enter the competition during the pring/ummer easons. o hows players who don t show up for their tee time on two occasions will be suspended from playing for 1 aturday the aturday immediately following the suspension. e wish everyone a successful and enjoyable 2017 season! 7 Verti draining to take place eather permitting we will be verti draining as soon as possible. hy on earth are we verti draining at the start of the competition season? Verti draining allows the exchange of gases in the soil allowing carbon dioxide out and oxygen in. t will encourage healthier deeper root growth. t aerates the soil and relieves compaction. t also helps improve the greens surface, improves and promotes good soil structure and creates quicker drying surfaces along with better absorption of water from the surface into the drainage system, helping prevent surface water problems. Verti draining also alleviates problems that greens face such as compacted surfaces after long periods of continuous use. asically verti draining is required to reduce compaction and to allow for good drainage of the green surfaces. e thank you for your understanding for the requirement of this practice. ake & lay ur ake & lay initiative will continue up to and including aturday 11 th arch.
