Please be patient while we work to improve the way we get all this information to you! Grand Knight Message To all my Brother Knights; I hope this message finds you well. Well, we are finally here at the end of the ride. What a ride it was! I have been extremely blessed to be a part of this incredible organization and totally humbled to lead you this year. It has been fun, challenging and fulfilling. I had two 1

2 main goals; 1.To do no harm and 2.To increase the parish's awareness of the Knights. Holy Father s Prayer Intentions Universal: Human Solidarity That the aged, marginalized, and those who have no one may find even within the huge cities of the world opportunities for encounter and solidarity. Evangelization: Seminarians and Novices That seminarians and men and women entering religious life may have mentors who live the joy of the Gospel and prepare them wisely for their mission. I am pretty sure number one was a success, although others may disagree! Haha. I am positive number two was an outstanding success! From the Knights taking over the blood drive to donut Sunday's and the incredible turnout for the fish fry's, I believe the Knights became more visible to the community. For all this I am beyond thankful. To you, my Brothers, you continue to inspire me and I am filled with love for all of you. Keep up the good work next year and let's grow our group to levels never seen before and continue our tradition of service to one, service to all. To my team of officers, what can I say? 4 Introduction Meeting: Membership Report The next Introduction Meeting will be held on Monday, June 6, in conference room 2 at 7pm. If you know of someone that would be a good candidate to join our council, please provide me with their name and phone number and address. Ceremonial Schedule: 1st Degree: Monday, June 20, Father Kass in Buena Park 2nd Degree: Tuesday, June 7, Holy Spirit in Fountain Valley 3rd Degree: Contact Frank Smaldino 4th Degree: Saturday, October 22, 2016, Irvine Marriott For ceremonials, we meet in front of Glynn Hall and car pool to the ceremony. Sideliners are always welcome to join us. Any Knights ready to get their 2nd or 3rd or 4th degree, contact Frank Smaldino at We conducted a Recruitment Weekend on May 14 & 15 and received three candidates interested in becoming Knights. 4

! Isaiah House On May 24, we had our cooking and serving teams at Isaiah House prepare and provide another great meal for the ladies in residence as well as to the Santa Ana Civic Center the next day.

On the serving and cleaning team were: Tony Witkay, Outreach Chair Jack O Connor, Louise O Connor, PGK Dennis McCoy and Brendan Powers. We served the ladies their large taco dinners outside and they enjoyed the change. We enjoyed being with them as they went through the line filling their plates. 6

7 26 th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Our Charity Fund Raising Golf Tournament was held on May 23, 2016 at Alta Vista Country Club. It was a great success. We had St. Martin de Porres Council #8238 join us this year and they added 24 golfers to the total of 98 players. Last year we had 82 players so we increased in size by nearly 20%. A big thank you to the golf committee, consisting of Dennis McCoy, Jim Gallagher, Bob Murray, Mark Thornberg, Frank Collard, Bob Fiorentino, Rick Melendres, Jim Mackey, Juan Carreno, and Frank Smaldino as Chairman. Also, a special thank you to the volunteers that came out on the day of the tournament and gave us a tremendous assist. They were: PGK Gary Richens, Carol Richens, Jean Collard, Bob DePaola, Rita DePaoa, Maureen Mitchell, Leo Moyneur, Mike Cushing, and Barry Gauthier. Lastly, thank you to those that played in the golf tournament and made a contribution to help us help the needy. You provided fun, excitement and laughs to the day. We enjoyed having you attend. 9 Insurance Message Hi everyone, I'm back on my feet after a few surgeries and I want to thank each and every one of you now. Thanks so much for the love, the flowers, the cards and the prayers. The prayers are the reason I'm alive and doing better. May God always love all of you. Well now that I'm back I urge all of you to realize were 1/2 way through the year and only about 20 people have called and asked me to do a review of their policies or financial portfolios. With 7 councils in North O.C. and approximately 900 members and then add their wives and kids, it's around 2000 persons. Wow is all I can say! Your fraternal benefits are amazing but most of you don't utilize them. If you don't remember what some of your automatic benefits are, then call me so I can re deliver or deliver you your benefits ASAP.
