This year s event will be held on Thursday, September 15th at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club. Funds raised at this event will go to support several school building programs in Honduras, Ecuador and also possibly reach other less fortunate parts of the world. To date with your generous support we have raised over $ 800,000. Our goal this year is to raise $ 100,000. We hope that you share in our passion for this special event. 3 ABOUT SCW CANADA In 1997 a group of leading architects traveled to Honduras. They brought with them an interest in exploring the state of school facilities in the beautiful landscape that surrounded the town of Santa-Cruz. What they found instead was a community in need of academic skills for their children. The one and two classroom schools were in dire need of repair and replacement. Some were constructed of wood, sticks, and mud, some had no windows and leaking roofs. Dirt floors and a lack of teaching materials were common. The team decided that something must be done about this. This is where the journey begins In 1998, Bill dejong, Chuck Newman and Ron McKnight formed Schools for the Children of the World.
