4 Welcome to the Club The Porirua Club is a large, modern facility set in the heart of the Porirua City CBD with a membership base of over 4000, coming from all walks of life. As part of Clubs New Zealand network, our members enjoy reciprocal visiting rights with over 300 clubs within New Zealand and throughout Australia. Our restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday with an extensive A La Carte menu, a variety of bar snacks and special event Buffet dinners. The Club provides a secure, safe and friendly environment for members to enjoy with a regular programme of live entertainment, indoor sports & outdoor sports, special interest sections (adjuncts) and function rooms for hire. There s something here for everyone.

5 Club Facilities The Porirua Club has excellent facilities for our members and their guests to use. Main Bar The main lounge is the heart of the club, with live entertainment most weeks and a selection of other activities such as quiz night & housie on the monthly calendar. There is always something to enjoy. Check out the huge 110 LED screen for live sport on Sky or sit back and enjoy the free jukebox. Cue Room This offers 6 pool tables and 6 full size snooker tables. Restaurant The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday for lunch and Wednesday to Sunday for dinner where you can relax and enjoy a great meal. TAB We offer a fully serviced TAB terminal, a self service pod for your convenience and also TVs for live viewing of races. Gaming Room The Club has 18 Gaming Machines in a light modern & safe environment. Function Rooms There are rooms available to hire for functions for guests. Quality catering options from platters to buffet s will ensure your function is a great success. ATM, EFTPOS and CREDIT CARD The club offers an ATM located in the Main Lounge, and Eftpos at the bar. Credit Card facilities are available at the bar by prior arrangement for purchases such as the settling of function bar tabs only.

6 Club Membership The Club offers the following memberships: Full Member Full members enjoy full use of the Club facilities, may stand for Executive Committee and may attend and vote at the AGM. Youth Member Youth members shall be sons or daughters of full members and must be between the age of their 10 th and 18 th birthdays. Youth Members will have no voting rights, will not be eligible to stand for Executive Committee and will not be allowed to attend any meeting of the club. (See rule 3.1.5) Affiliated Member An affiliated member is someone who is a member of a club that is affiliated to Clubs New Zealand Inc. Clubs New Zealand is the leading association for clubs in New Zealand. They represent more than 300 clubs across the country including chartered clubs, community clubs, cosmopolitan clubs, workingmen's clubs, sports clubs and RSAs.

7 Member s Guests Who needs to sign in? Anyone who does not hold a Porirua Club membership card or a membership card of an affiliated club and is over the age of 18 must be signed in. Affiliated members must sign their guests in. This is a requirement of the District Licencing Agency so it is imperative this is done every time you visit our Club. Guests are required to carry a visitor chit with them whilst on the premises and produce it when requested by Club staff. Affiliated Members are required to have their current membership card with them and produce it when requested by Club staff. Sign-in chits are available at reception in the entrance foyer. Porirua Club Members are permitted to sign in a maximum of 5 guests without prior approval. Should you wish to bring in a larger party, then please contact the office prior to your visit.

8 General Information Transfers Any current member of a club affiliated to Clubs NZ who is residing in the Porirua area and has been a member of another affiliated club for at least 1 year shall be entitled to apply for transfer of membership to the Porirua Club, provided that a transfer form has been received from the affiliated club. Transfers will not be accepted from any club which is situated within a radius of 7km from the Porirua Club. No transfer will be accepted from any affiliated member who joined another club whilst residing in the Porirua area and was eligible at that time to join the Porirua Club. Dress Code A reasonable standard of dress is required at all times in all public areas of the club including the outside smoking areas. After 8pm clothing and footwear must be smart casual and is of a higher standard than during the day i.e. no jandals etc. The following attire is NOT permitted at any time: No Dirty or Torn clothing No Offensive T-Shirts No Dirty Work Boots or Overalls No Hats Clean and tidy footwear must be worn at all times.

9 General Information Volunteers The Club hosts several events during the year. Volunteers are required for these events. Please contact the office if you would to like to be part of our events. We would love to hear from you. Annual Subscriptions Annual Subscription Invoices are ed or posted to members in early April. On payment of subscription your card will be printed and will be available to pick up from the club approximately 1 week after. Cards will be posted to members living outside the greater Porirua/Wellington Area.

10 General Information Getting Home Safely Courtesy Coach The Courtesy Coach is available most Friday Nights (depending on availability of drivers). For bookings call the club bar on (1). Taxi Phone The Taxi Phone for booking a taxi is located at reception in the foyer. Lift the handset dial 9, then the number. Uber We are pleased that Uber is becoming more prevalent in Porirua, download the APP and try it. Car Park Security The Club carparks are not locked, we have lighting and CCTV in most areas however we ask that members do not leave valuables in their car and all cars left overnight are left at the owners risk.

13 Club Restaurant Restaurant Seating around 100 people, the Porirua Club Restaurant is the perfect place for members and their guests to relax and enjoy a meal. 14 Function Rooms We offer multiple function room for hire for birthdays, weddings, conferences, Christmas lunch and dinners and special occasion functions. Phypers Lounge Banquet Seating, max 60 guests, smoking area, projector & pulldown screen. Sports Bar Banquet Seating max 120 guests, smoking area, projector & pulldown screen. The Function Rooms include a staffed bar (minimum bar spend applies). Catering Options Finger Food and Buffet Options are available. Restaurant for more details. 15 Children in the Club We welcome children in the Club, but we do request that you note the following: Children s hours Members must accompany your children at all times. We request that children 18 years and under vacate the Porirua Club by 10pm, unless attending a pre-arranged private function. Shows Please note that shows will have certain restrictions which will be advertised at the time of the event. John Hearps TAB lounge, Gaming & Smoking Areas These area s are restricted to persons aged 18 and over at all times. Thank you for your co-operation

16 Club Safe Financial Policy The following information describes the procedures and policy that this Club has adopted with respect to financial transactions. The purpose of this policy is to create an environment in which members are encouraged to act responsibly in relation to their financial transactions as they relate to gambling activities at the Club. Credit Cash advances to members will not be provided for any purpose, e.g. IOUs will not be accepted in exchange for cash for any purpose. Cash will not be provided at EFTPOS facilities where a credit transaction is involved. Credit transactions will only be available for the purchase of goods and services such settling bar tabs for functions and must be arranged with management prior to the event. Cheques Only financial members of this Club may cash a cheque. The maximum value a cheque will be cashed for at this Club is $200. Cheques will not be cashed where the money is to be used for the purpose of gaming or gambling. Only one cheque per day to be cashed and members must seek prior approval from the General Manager.

17 Porirua Club By-Laws 1. PERSONS under 18 years are not permitted in the John Hearps TAB and Gaming Areas. 2. PERSONS under 18 years must be under Parental or Guardian control at all times. 3. ANY PERSON who has been suspended or banned from other Licensed Premises will NOT be allowed on the Club premises. 4. MEMBERS and affiliates shall produce their membership cards on demand. 5. VISITORS of members and affiliates must be signed in. The host member is responsible for visitors conduct and visitors must vacate the Club when the member leaves. 6. DRESS - A reasonable standard of dress is required at all times. No dirty or torn clothing No dirty boots or overalls No offensive tee shirts Clean and tidy footwear must be worn at all times Jandals are not permitted in the Club after 8pm 7. ANY PERSON caught using or in possession of drugs on Club premises (other than prescription drugs) is liable to immediate expulsion. 8. THREATENING OR ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR is unacceptable for any Member, Visitor or Staff on Club premises. 9. VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR will not be tolerated on Club premises and the Police will be called. 10. OFFENSIVE or foul language involving Members, Visitors or Staff will not be tolerated on Club premises.

18 Porirua Club By-Laws 11. SEXUAL HARASSMENT is legally and socially unacceptable and will not be tolerated by Members, Visitors or Staff. 12. RACIAL HARASSMENT is illegal in NZ and will not be tolerated by Members, Visitors or Staff. 13. INTOXICATION - Members and Visitors who are intoxicated or showing signs of intoxication will not be served alcohol and will be asked to leave. It is against the Law. 14. NO LIQUOR or Club property to be removed from the Club premises. 15. ONLY LIQUOR that is purchased from the Porirua Club may be consumed within the Club premises. 16. ANY PERSON found with alcohol purchased elsewhere will be asked to leave the Club premises immediately. 17. NO MEMBERS or Visitors shall procure liquor for a prohibited person or for any person who has been refused. 18. STANDING (other from waiting for service) at the bars is not permitted. 19. SMOKING is only permitted in the designated areas of the Club premises. 20. MEMBERS and Visitors are to return all glasses, jugs and bottles to the glass laundry. 21. THERE shall be NO GAMBLING, raffles or petitions on the Club premises without the express approval of the Executive Committee. 22. MEMBERS and Visitors shall not park cars in an inconsiderate manner nor park cars in areas marked "No Parking" or on yellow lines.

19 Porirua Club By-Laws 23. MEMBERS and Visitors entering, parking and leaving the car park and grounds of the Club shall respect neighbouring properties. 24. Any person who acts in any way prejudicial to the Porirua Club and brings the Porirua Club into disrepute may face disciplinary action. 25. MEMBERS who are alleged to have breached the Club By Laws, shall: FIRSTLY be required to attend with the Vice President, Executive Committee person and the General Manager to discuss allegations, and; SECONDLY, subsequent to the initial meeting, may be required to appear before the Club Disciplinary Committee. Your membership card may be held by the General Manager, and all Club privileges will be suspended pending the decision of that committee, and shall continue in the event of an appeal, until the final appeal decision is notified. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ABOVE BY LAWS ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE GENERAL MANAGER, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, AND NO DISCUSSION WILL BE ENTERED INTO.
