2 The Vaquero Club is an exclusive, private equity club developed in pristine Westlake, Texas located just north of Fort Worth within the DFW Metroplex. The Vaquero is home to many top athletes and professional golfers that expect top quality golf and with the seclusion of being at home. The golf course was designed by renowned architect Mr. Tom Fazio in The property was formally a part of the Perot Family s Circle T Ranch, until Discovery Land Co. purchased and developed this special community. The name Vaquero, means cowboy in Spanish and fits perfect as the golf course was carved into the natural topography and maintains the ranch feel throughout. Mr. Fazio explains Vaquero as one of his most dramatic golf courses with over 7 acres of bunkers and dramatic undulating greens. In 2015 Vaquero teamed with Andrew Green, the industries next top Architect in the development of a new master plan. Phase 1 of the master plan was to build the world class practice facility that was completed in September of Currently the clubhouse is undergoing an 18 million dollar renovation/ expansion that is scheduled for completion in June of 2018.

3 Internship Program The Vaquero membership expects perfection daily, and our staff is trained to execute accordingly. Vaquero s student interns will play an integral part in the daily operation through training in tasks such as course set up, water management, and plant protection applications. Student interns will work directly with the Superintendent and Assistants ensuring the experience meets expectations. As a club, Vaquero focuses on career development of our employees that wish to pursue a future in the golf business. Each intern will gain exposure to all operational areas of the club as we feel this will help aspiring Superintendents understand the business as a whole and not just a single entity. This position caters to students that wish to pursue a career as Superintendents servicing a club that is of the highest caliber. All training and operations at Vaquero will lay the foundation for the next generation of leaders in the club business.

4 What to Expect Student Interns will be involved in all aspects of maintaining warm and cool season turfgrasses. Interns will have hands on training and experience calibrating all of our sprayers and spreaders for product applications. As pesticide and fertilizer application are being calibrated expect to be the person doing the application. Learning to plan ahead, ask questions, and be sure your equipment is properly set up and calibrated for these applications are skills that will be mastered upon completion. Properly hand watering and syringing greens is one of many components to successfully managing bentgrass in Texas. Interns can expect to partake in the putting green management. They will be given the opportunity to work closely with assistants superintendents to develop these skills in this type of environment. Interns will also collect data from our greens daily and upload this information onto software so we can monitor trends and the plants response to both physical and environmental factors. Course set up is also an area we emphasize the importance as every member and guest is personally impacted by this practice. We feel it is important to understand the game, environmental conditions, and to be the final eyes catching anything out of place before the players hit the course. We execute course set up with close attention to detail such as painting, changing, and cleaning our cups daily. Tee markers and yardage plaques are shined daily and no object should ever appear to be out of place while preparing the golf course for the day. Part of the internship will include time with the Equipment and Operations Manager both in the shop and out in the field. Basic reel maintenance and setup is one of the major focuses the mechanic will cover while in the shop. Also, the operation and the maintenance of our subsurface blower systems, pump stations, reverse osmosis plant, and all specialty tools will be covered during this period.

5 Reverse Osmosis Vaquero built a reverse osmosis plant capable of cleaning 1.2millions gallons of well water per day to replenish our 8 acre irrigation lake. As an intern you will get to experience being a part of the daily operation for this facility. Some of the job duties that go along with maintaining the plant are changing filters, recording spec settings/data, and regulating salt levels. The use of an RO plant is great for Vaquero because it eliminates buying city water and city regulation during any kind of water shortage. Water is the #1 tool we have as turf managers, and this plant allows us to ensure the quality is of the upmost at all times.

6 Dallas/ Ft. Worth The town of Westlake is located in the heart of the DFW Metroplex; 30 miles northwest of Dallas and 20 miles northeast of Fort Worth. The town is the wealthiest in Tarrant county and is home to many top athletes and CEOs. The town of Westlake and the Vaquero Club give you a small home town feeling outside the busy business world life style of the Metroplex. Top executives are able to escape to their pristine neighborhoods while still being close to work. Being located only 15 miles from the DFW airport it s easy for residents of this area to get to the airport for travel. Vaquero is located only 30 minutes from downtown Dallas. The DART train system is an easy form of transportation to get downtown and also to American Airlines Center, home to the Mavericks and Stars. American Airlines Center also hosts many live concerts and shows throughout the offseason of their sports teams. The Fort Worth Area has a lot to offer as well. Globe life Park(Texas Rangers) and AT&T Stadium are located in Arlington, about 20 minutes from the club. The Fort Worth Stock Yards is another attraction to the area. It s a representation of the old days of Fort Worth. It s home to many great steak houses and has a busy night life country atmosphere. Weekly rodeos, concerts and mock cattle drives are a few examples of some of the entertainment that takes place everyday.

7 Invitation We provide housing in the town of Southlake for all student interns, approximately 10 minutes from the club. The House is fully furnished with the exception of personal bedding and offers a private patio on 1 acre of property for when its time to relax. Throughout every year, our turf professionals are offered an opportunity to work a major golf event. Our 2017 Tournament experience consisted of Riveria Country Club, Eagle Point, The Greenbriar Classic, and the Presidents Cup. We look forward to the 2018 golf season and our agenda for improvements this coming year.
