14 CONDITIONS OF PLAY 1. Play will commence at times shown on the starting sheet, which is provided to reserve your starting time. You may commence at only the first or tenth tees unless advised otherwise. 2. Before commencing play, you must register on golf link and pay the competition fee otherwise you will be ineligible to receive a prize or trophy for the competition. Your scorecard needs to be lodged with the Manager within 15 minutes of the completion of your round otherwise you may be disqualified. All cards must be lodged by 5:30pm (Winter competition). Presentation to be made at approx 6:00 pm. 3. After the opening day in each year, you must be financial to receive prizes and trophies in club competition. 4. PENNANTS - you MUST be financial, in order to be selected. 5. Junior/Student members may play in club competitions. There must be at least one adult member in the group (except in Junior competitions). 6. The Match committee shall have the right to alter any competition conditions or to alter or cancel any competition event. 7. Qualification for the Club Championship is best gross scores for 2 of 3 Qualifying rounds (Sat July 7 th, Sat Aug 11 th, Sun Aug 12 th ) 8. Where Handicap events are played in conjunction with Championship events, players are only eligible to win one trophy. 12

15 9. Stroke, Medal, Stableford and Par events to be played in divisions. One division up to 50 players, two divisions over 50. Trophy of the day to the Berri Club player with best individual score of the day. Trophies will be presented to players as shown in the program. Trophies to winners in each division. Consolation ball prizes to next best scores. Handicaps for divisions One Division, Two Divisions, 1-17, Reciprocal Club Members and visitors may win visitor trophies only (special events, open days excepted). On pennant days a club trophy will be provided. Ties in handicap events will be decided using the count-back system described in the Australian Golfer s Handbook. 10. Motorized Golf Cart/Transport may be used in all competitions without medical certification. 11. Extreme Weather - Competition events will be shortened to 9 holes if the forecast maximum for the day is greater than 40ºC. The Captain or delegate may cancel competition if extreme or dangerous conditions prevail (e.g. lightning, hail, severe wind or extreme heat) or the course is unplayable. MOTORISED GOLF VEHICLES ARE ONLY TO BE DRIVEN ON THE FAIRWAY. THEY ARE PROHIBITED FROM THE ROUGH, BUNKERS, GREENS, TEES, MOUNDS AND THE AREA IMMEDIATELY AROUND THE GREENS. IT IS THE OWNER S RESPONSIBILITY TO INSURE AND REGISTER THEIR MOTORISED GOLF VEHICLES. 13

21 CONDITIONS FOR RGA PENNANT COMPETITION Each club is to enter three teams of five players into the RGA Pennant Competition. 2. Teams must always be selected in exact handicap order (a player on 7.6 must be picked in a team before a player on 7.7). Once the teams have been established in correct order the playing order within the team is determined by the captain. 3. Teams must be written into scorebooks by captains and books exchanged before teams are written up for public viewing. 4. During the minor round the visiting teams are to be accorded the honour when hitting off on the first tee. The honour is then decided by the winner of the previous hole. 5. All matches in all grades are to be played off the stick. 6. To be eligible to compete in a pennant match a player must be a bona-fide member of the club he represents. This means he must be eligible to participate in the Club Championship. 19

23 HIT OFF TIMES It is recommended that teams begin hitting off at 12 o clock with A grade hitting off on tee one and B grade hitting off tee ten. C grade can then be spread across both tees or an agreed to alternative. This is a recommendation only and clubs can vary times and orders by agreement. RESULTS The home team has the responsibility of returning the team result forms to the Riverland Golf Association by 12 noon on the Tuesday following the match by post, , fax or hand delivery. A player must play two of the four minor round games to qualify to play in the finals. 8. Each club that qualifies for a final must submit their playing list for all grades in exact handicap order to the RGA officer responsible for pennants at least two days prior to the final. The actual handicaps must appear on this list. 9. In finals the team finishing higher in the minor round will be accorded the honour on the first hole played. 21

27 CONDITIONS OF PENNANT PLAY 1. Starting times 9.00am & 9.30am (as per program) Players to be at club 15 minutes prior to tee off. If players not present for their 9.00am OR 9.30am commencement, a forfeit will be given. With a forfeit, the players must move up in handicap order and last player will get the forfeit 10/ /4 handicap applies. 3. Toss of the coin to work out who tees off first. 4. WET WEATHER POLICY - If the host club deems course too wet to play, they are to advise all the visiting clubs ASAP. Match to be rescheduled and played ASAP, prior to Round 5. If not possible - clubs to be allocated 1 point each if match is called off. 5. Last match to be played at Renmark, followed by lunch. Tee off both tees at 9.00am. 33 DRESS AND GENERAL BEHAVIOUR RULES ON THE COURSE * Members and visitors are requested to present themselves in a neat, clean and orderly manner of dress, which at no time will provoke complaints, be offensive or embarrass other members. * Bare feet, thongs and shirts without sleeves will not be permitted. * The manager or the committee shall have the discretion on all matters pertaining to the above. DRESS REQUIREMENTS OF LADY PLAYERS A reasonable standard of dress must be maintained at all times, both on the course and in the clubhouse. COURSE ETIQUETTE * The player with the lowest handicap shall be the Captain of that match and is responsible for the observance of the Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Course Etiquette. * All players are required to carry a bucket of sand to fill all divot holes. * Ball marks in greens are to be repaired before leaving to play the next hole. * Foot and club marks are to be raked out before leaving a bunker. Players should refrain from walking up the face of bunkers, except when playing the ball. Rakes should be left in the bunker, parallel with the direction of play. * Care should be taken not to damage the edge of the hole or the green surface when removing and replacing the flagstick or with shoe sprigs. 31

35 * Call following players up IMMEDIATELY, when a ball is difficult to find. * Competition competitors have the right of way on the course at all times. * In taking practice swings players should avoid causing damage to the course (by removing divots) particularly on the tees. * Ground staff in the course of their duty have the right of way at all times. * Motorized golf vehicles must be used strictly in accordance with rules and conditions of the club and must be registered and insured in accordance with Golf SA guidelines. * GPS Devices can be used in all competition Rounds. SLOW PLAY In the interests of avoiding slow play: * Keep up with the match in front of you. In the event of a lost ball call the following match through immediately. * Move quickly between shots and be ready to play when it is your turn. * Leave buggies on the side of the green nearest the access to the next tee. * Do not mark scorecards on the green. * Do not take excessive practice swings and do not replay putts after completing the hole when other matches are following. * In other than stroke competitions pick up your ball when you cannot score. SLOW PLAYERS WILL BE PENALISED. 33
