3 RACE STARTS: Riders must report to the race secretary no later than 30 minutes before race start. Senior entries received online at before 8pm Friday immediately prior to raceday will have an entry fee of $10 (to be paid on the day), entries taken on the day have an entry fee of $20. If you enter online and don t turn up to race, you are liable for that entry fee before your next start. Under-17 entry fee $5, Development entry fee $2, on the day. No riders permitted to warm up in the path of race start, including Under 17/Development grades. ALL Riders must attend the pre-race briefing for course and riding instruction. Club race numbers MUST be worn, or NO START. Riders must have had at least three starts in club races to qualify for club championship prizes. Raced under Club and Cycling NZ rules, and Traffic Management regulations. Any riders crossing the white centre line in an unsafe or dangerous manner will be stood down from racing for two weeks. Fines will be imposed for repeat infringements. ALL following vehicles must keep 100 metres clear of cyclists or the cyclist they are supporting may be disqualified. *** PLEASE LET TIME KEEPERS KNOW IF YOU DNF *** CYCLES: Riders must ensure the safety of their own cycles and equipment. Random checks will be made, unsafe cycle = no start. GENERAL: No verbal (or otherwise) approaches to the handicapper or officials permitted. Anyone guilty of infringing will receive a two week stand down from racing. See the club captain if you have any issues to discuss. Protests to be written and handed to the club captain or race manager with the $20 fee within 20-minutes of race finish. SUBSCRIPTIONS: Must be paid on your first start. Club Sub: $40, U17 or those at school $10. CYCLING NZ LICENCES: ALL CYCLISTS must have a Cycling NZ racing license. This can be purchased online at or from the race secretary. 3
4 TROPHIES & PRIZE MONEY Riders must be financial members to take these. Handicap Races: 1st $100, 2nd $60, 3rd $30, 4th $20, 5th $15, 6th $10, 7th $10, 8th $10, 9th $10, 10th $10 Fastest Time: 1st $40, 2nd $20, 3rd $10 Graded Scratch: 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $15, 4th $10 Under-17 H/cap Races: 1st $15, 2nd $10, 3rd $5, 4th $5 Fastest Time: 1st $10, 2nd $5 Special events will have their prize list published prior to race day. Handicap Racing Rules: In handicap races riders are expected to share the pace-making with their co-markers. Riders are entitled to hold their position during aggressive tactical sequences but must take their turn at the front when the pace settles down. If it can be shown that any rider did not fairly contribute towards the group effort by either verbally communicating their inability to perform, or consistently fails, or avoids taking their turn at the front, yet takes out a major placing, on official protest, that placing may be overturned. PRESENTATIONS: Will be held at approx. 5:30pm after the event at The Sail Café & Bar. To support the sponsors, riders must collect their prize in person. Prizes are otherwise forfeit. Points Trophies: Annual trophies will be presented at the end of season presentation, including Henshaw Cup, Falcon Cup, Tony Dorgan Cup, Stewart-Wadsworth Cup, Miller Cup, and Hessell Cup. Rothbury Senior Points Series: 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $75, 4th $50, 5th $25 Handicap Races: 1st place 20pts, 2nd 15pts, 3rd 12pts, 4th 10pts, 5th 8pts, 6th 6pts, 7th 4pts, 8th 3pts, 9th 2pts, 10th 1pt 2 points for a start and 2 for a finish in all handidap races. Graded Scratch: 5 points for a start and 5 for a finish in all scratch races. No outside assistance allowed 4
