1 13 th WALTER MARTIN MEMORIAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 26 TH AUGUST 2018 JUDGE MRS FAY STOKES JUDGE S SUMMATION BELOW It was a very special appointment for me to judge this show after the passing of my friend of over 45 years, Joylene Neddermeyer. I thank the WA Committee, my steward and stenographer and the exhibitors for their sportsmanship with my decisions on the day. There were a total of 12 Long Stock Coat entries with l0 being shown. In the LSC there was not a predominant sire however I found the size to be large to very large with two oversize, the type was very good as was the pigment and colour and general overall construction. I must compliment the exhibitors on presenting these animals in very good condition with all of them being beautifully groomed. In the Stock Coats there were 54 entered and 47 shown. The predominant sires in the stock coats were Labo v Schollweiher 11. Juwika Destroyer 8. Schaeferhund Rafael 7. Conbhairean Freddie 6. Seigen Suris Alfie 5 and Jerry Schacher 4. This is the most stock I have seen exhibited at one show from Labo and these were all very impressive, with most of the older stock, whilst being a little deep in hindquarter angulation, do not run on their hocks, all carry a beautiful outline and wither line into very good lay of the croup with very good forequarters and all move with very good balance and far reaching effortless ground cover. My best in show was a Labo son and he is a very beautiful, very young dog who I am sure will be a very impressive male as he matures. I found the size in the stock coats to be large to very large, the hind angulation whilst in some youngsters was slightly deep; it was not enough to penalise them. The forequarters are generally good with the normal problem of some upper arms whilst being of good length could be better angled or in some case are well angled but could be longer, the length of necks were generally good, as was the eye colour and masking, only a couple of instances of slight roman noses, again only a couple of instances of nicks behind the wither and generally in the area of the croup we have the normal slightly short but well laid. Pleasing was the underline area; there was no predominance of short under chests. Once again most exhibits were presented in firm dry condition. I must congratulate the breeders as it is difficult and expensive to access the bloodlines available and you have produced animals that can compete in any State and in any National and take out top awards and with what I have judged today this trend will certainly continue. Good angulation of the fore where the upper arm is well angled but could be slightly longer. Very good hindquarter angulation. Good fore and slightly short underchest. Steps close going, correct coming. During movement shows good ground cover but the reach is a little restricted.

Good fore and underchest. Pasterns should be firmer. The front feet are flat. Steps correct going, a little wide coming. Very good ground covering movement where he maintains his wither line. During movement shows very good ground covering gait, very good drive, the reach could be a little freer. He carries a good topline and maintains his overall firmness.
