It is always fun having fellowship with club members and I m sure everyone present had a great time.

3 Page 3 Presidents Letter I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The Holidays are always a special time, but it s nice to get back tgo a normal pace as well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Larry Marshall and his lovely bride for hosting our annual Christmas Party in their beautiful home. It is always fun having fellowship with club members and I m sure everyone present had a great time. A special Thank You also goes out to Diane Garrett for taking charge of the mug exchange, this is always a highlight of the evening. Next up for our club is our annual fundraiser and Banquet. It will be held on Feb 10 and 11 at the Civic Center so please mark your calendar so you can attend this event. Tickets are available from Board members so get in contact with one of them if you are in need of a ticket. Board members have been hard at work planning the Banquet and auctions and it looks to be another successful fundraiser if everyone participates! Something new this year will be a bucket raffle, this will lead to even more great prizes! Pancho has been putting together the hunts for the auction and these will be posted on the website and in the newsletter. Our next meeting will be held Jan 26 at the Roswell Country Club at 7:00 pm. Our guest speaker will be Robert Turner and he will speak on his recent trip to S. Africa. Hope to see everyone there! Included in this hunt is a $4,000 credit towards his spiral slam package that sells for $8,950 and Tinus assures that Eland, Kudu, Nyala, and Bushbuck are available. Also included are accommodation in luxury hunting camp, meals, airport transfer at Port Elizabeth Airport, and this hunt may be taken in 2017 or 18. Value $10,950 SOUTH AFRICA 5 DAY MPUMALANGA HUNT FOR PLAINS AND/OR DANGEROUS GAME Ross Lange of Ross Lange Safaris ( has donated a 5 day hunt for 2 hunters (2 on 1) in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. Included in this hunt are a choice between either plains game or dangerous game for each hunter, Cape Buffalo, Crocodile, Hippopotamus and Rhino are available on the 15,000 acre concession. Also included are trophy fees for 2 Impala and 2 Warthog to be shared between the hunters, outstanding accommodation, all transport, meals, airport transfer from Kruger Mpumalanga Int Airport, and standard hunt services. This hunt may be taken in either April thru October 2017 or 18 and may be upgraded for additional animals or days at normal rates. This hunting area features over 30 different plains game species which are available per the current price list. Included in this hunt are 1 springbuck, 1 blesbuck, 1 kudu, 1 steenbuck, 1 gemsbok, and 1 warthog, which are to be shared by the two hunters. Accommodation includes en-suite chalet with lapa and entertainment area. Professional hunter (1 on 1) and hunting vehicle, tracker, skinner and field preparation of your trophies are included. Hannes Eels of Limcroma Safaris ( limcroma.com/) has donated a 10 day hunt for 2 hunters that includes trophy fees for 1 Blue Wildebeest and 1 Impala for each hunter. Accommodations are luxurious native thatched chalets with delectable cuisine prepared in traditional fashion, wild game meats, and the famous South African wines and beers. Additional hunters and non-hunters are encouraged and will receive a reduced daily rate. Additional animals, including dangerous game, will also receive a special SCI discount from the pricelist. The donation also includes the taxidermy fees for 1 Impala for each hunter. Airport transfers from Johannesburg are not included. We thank Hannes and Limcroma for this 100% donation. Value $14,000 SOUTH AFRICA 7 DAY PLAINS GAME HUNT IN LIMPOPO. Johan Pretorius of Ibamba Safaris ( has donated a 7 day plains game hunt for 2 hunters. This donation includes trophy fees for 1 Blesbuck for the 1st hunter and 1 Impala for the 2d hunter, beautiful lodge accommodation, all meals, and bottled water, ground transportation, and standard hunt services. Value $7,000 SOUTH AFRICA 6 DAY PLAINS GAME OR DANGEROUS GAME SAFARI IN KWAZULU NATAL. Willem & Amanda Basson of Zeekoepan ( This 8-day hunt comprise 6 hunting- and 2 travelling days, and 4x dangerous game hunting days for 2 hunters at Zeekoepan River Lodge are included as a donation. The 1st hunter will receive a $1200 discount on a Nyala trophy. The 2d hunter will receive a Blue Wildebeest valued at $1200. Willem advises that when hunting a trophy list of 4 and more animals per hunter, the hunter will receive the GREATER of the above mentioned $1200 or 15% collective discount towards any of the following species: Cape Buffalo, Blue Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Giraffe, Impala, Nyala male, Nyala female, Warthog, and Zebra. Also included are pick-up and drop off vehicle to Richards Bay airport, the use of our hunting rifles for 6 hunting days, services of PH, and a 10-member field- & camp staff, hunter s accommodations, meals & laundry in Zeekoepan River Lodge, hunting vehicles, field preparation of trophies and delivery to the local taxidermy for preparation and shipping. Included in this donation is reception at Madrid s Int l Airport including assistance at gun clearance and gun permit fees, full board top class accommodations plus all land transportation up to 5 days and English speaking professional hunter plus local game keepers that will scout each area before hunter gets there. The hunter gets to choose which animals he is going for from Giuseppe s extensive list of trophies including all 4 different varieties of Spainish Ibex. Hunt may be taken in 2017 or 18. Included in this package are 5 days & 4 nights guided rafting, delicious dutch oven style meals on the river featuring chicken fajitas, pasta and New York steak, all equipment (tents, sleeping bags, cots, waterproof gear bags, waterproof day bags, and all rafting gear). Value $2,700 OHIO 3 DAY WHITETAIL HUNT FOR TWO HUNTERS Chris Daniels of Briarwood Sporting Club ( in Bellefontaine, Ohio have donated a 3 day/4 night hunt for 2 Northeastern Whitetail Deer. Included are daily fees for 2 hunters and a $1,000 credit per hunter toward the harvest of two trophy whitetails, lodging, meals, beverages, professional guide, and transportation of trophies to local meat processor/taxidermist. Accommodations on the hunt are provided in the bunkhouse and the hunters are responsible for their KS license application before the deadline in April but virtually all applicants receive their license ($450). Each hunter will receive a $1000 credit towards the cost of a Red Stag hunt and an additional $500 credit towards any other trophies added plus free trophy preparation, shipping crate & export documentation for their Red Stag ($650 value). Craig has begun a Club NZ Red Stag Hunts program to liberate hunters from restrictive scoring brackets and inflated prices. Even if you harvest a stag over 440 inches, you will not pay extra above your booked hunt price. This hunt can be taken in 2017 or 2018 hunting season from March through to the end of August.
