2 NO KILL In 2012, Charleston Animal Society drew a line in the sand. Although No Kill Charleston 2015 was intended to be a 3-year initiative, it was achieved in the first year. Now it s time to take our biggest step yet. No Kill. No Harm. No More. NO HARM Animal cruelty in our community has gone on far too long. It ends today. No Kill. No Harm. No More. is much more than an initiative. Join this movement to end animal cruelty once and for all. It all starts with you. You are the catalyst. Safe and healthy communities, neighborhoods and families don t just happen they re built. No Kill. No Harm. No More. shines a spotlight on animal abuse and family violence, which are often perceived and treated as separate issues. However, animal abuse is often the tip of the iceberg to larger issues in the home, such as child abuse, elder abuse and domestic violence. Pets are important members of the family. That s why it s critical that we take a stand against cruelty to our loved ones. Now s your chance, Charleston. No Kill. No Harm. No More.

3 WE WERE FIRST Charleston Animal Society built the first No Kill community in the Southeast, something many people including industry experts, thought was unrealistic. Today, Charleston Animal Society is recognized as a national model in animal shelter excellence and is frequently highlighted in national industry publications. Our staff and leaders have been invited to present at numerous conferences, workshops and webinars. Communities from around the country and as far away as France and New Zealand have reached out to us to learn from our successes. But we are not finished. There is more to be done. With No Kill. No Harm. No More. we are taking a stand against animal cruelty. CHARLESTON ANIMAL SOCIETY

No More. vows to expand outreach efforts in order to help deserving families keep their animals in their homes by providing them with resources in humane education, food and veterinary care. This movement also vows to help law enforcement and the courts uphold current laws and prosecute people for cruelty to animals.

GIVE NOW Only 25% of our funding comes from the government for the disposition of animals, far short of what it costs to save them. Our community is unique in that the government operates animal shelters in most communities. The rest comes from generous citizens and people passionate about animals.
