Mattel s philanthropic efforts in 2010 touched the lives of more than 5 million children in more than 50 countries around the world. In addition, 25% percent of our employees around the world gave back through volunteering, whether it was playing with kids at inner city schools, wrapping toys or granting wishes of children facing life threatening illness. 4 Toy Donations In 2010, we donated almost $10 million worth of Barbie dolls, Hot Wheel cars, UNO games, American Girl dolls and other Mattel toys to children in more than 50 countries. Our toy donation partners include: Good360 Formerly known as Gifts In Kind International, brings smiles to the faces of children every year by fulfilling the thousands of requests Mattel receives domestically for toys. National Association of Children s Hospitals and Related Institutions Mattel has donated more than one million toys during the past six years to children s hospitals around the world in partnership with NACHRI. Make A Wish Foundation Mattel provides 26,000 unique Barbie dolls and Hot Wheel cars to wish children around the world. Save the Children & American Red Cross Disaster Relief Mattel shipped toys to children still suffering a year later from the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and provided UNO games for Safe Space centers in shelters set up for disaster relief.

5 Signature Partners: Through the global Signature Partners Program, Mattel is able to directly impact children facing life threatening illness, ensure children in hospitals have opportunities to play, children with intellectual disabilities in the most remote corners of the world have access to appropriate developmental programming, and children affected by HIV and AIDS in Latin America receive the support they need most. For more than six years, Mattel has partnered with these organizations to build strong programs impacting millions of children in need.

6 9 international locations 20,000 kids impacted in Southern California Over 19,000 toys wrapped 160 tons of snow In December 2010, Mattel employees took a new approach to how the company celebrates the holidays. The idea was simple: focus the combined passion and energy of Mattel employees with Mattel resources like toys to make a difference in lives of underserved children during the holiday season with PLAY. Team-building volunteer events were created in partnership with schools and local nonprofits, and it took shape as the Mattel 12 Days of Play. Employees across the company embraced the opportunity to volunteer together and demonstrated the power of play. With volunteer participation rates more than 90 percent at El Segundo headquarters alone, Mattel estimates it positively impacted the lives of 20,000 children in Los Angeles County by bringing the joy of play not only through toy donations, but through personal interaction with Mattel employees. The 12 Days of Play grew beyond Mattel headquarters, as employee volunteer events took shape in global Mattel locations, including Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Chile, Australia, Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Spain. 7 Established in 2006, Mattel s global volunteer program is a reflection of our values and corporate responsibility mission to play responsibly. Highlights in 2010 include: In June, Mattel Indonesia partnered with the local charity LPPM (Cikarang Committee) to rebuild the Padang Sago Elementary School in Jababeka, after being damaged by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in The major renovation was completed in just 25 days, and donated funds from the Mattel Children s Foundation helped fill the new classrooms with needed supplies. Mattel invited more than 50 inner-city girls from LA s BEST, an after-school enrichment program, to walk the pink carpet for a magical Barbie Pink Ticket Party. Mattel volunteers played with the kids at activity stations where they could create their own Barbie, play dress-up with hair and make-up and share their fashionable looks during a runway walk. One hundred girls shared a special visit with Barbie, enjoyed a delicious lunch complete with a chocolate fountain, and received fabulous giftbags with Barbie dolls and accessories. What a wonderful day of play!
