3 Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing one of the Dr. Kern massagers. So that you will fi nd it easier to use, we have enclosed some special instructions. They are intended to help you to get used to working with your new massager more quickly. Please read these instructions carefully before you start. This device has not been designed for being used by persons (including children) that are physically or mentally handicapped or have sensory disabilities. Moreover, it is not allowed to use this device without suffi cient experience and/or knowledge, unless these persons will be supervised by persons responsible for their security or in case they have been instructed how to use this device. Children are to be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with this device. Important instructions First check that nothing is missing from your order. Check that the mains lead and the voltage on the type plate are identical. Read these assembly instructions and operating instructions very carefully. Use the massager only in a dry room. Disconnect the massager from the mains before starting to clean it or service it. Do not permit anyone except a person that is properly trained to carry out repairs: repairs carried out by anyone not qualifi ed to do so could cause injury to the user. The massage belts and belt fi xtures should be inspected regularly for possible damages and wear. Only fully intact, undamaged belts may be used. If you are unwell, pregnant or injured you should always consult a doctor before starting to use the massager. Never massage your bare skin. No massage in the kidney area, as this may lead to kidney damages! Do not switch on the massager under a heavy load. Important warning! Children do not recognise the possible risks of using electrical equipment. So never permit a child to use the massager without the proper supervision. The massager complies with the currently valid safety requirements. 3
4 Assembling the massager 1. First unpack the fl oor plate (J) with the stand holder rod (F). Assemble the stand holder so that it is in an upright position (Fig. 1) and then fi x it with the screws that are included. 2. Remove both of the retaining screws (G) from the base (H) and pull out the stand holder rod (F). 3. Use the retaining screws (E) to adjust to the height you want. 4. Push the stand holder into the base until all the screws are aligned. Then put a snap ring, then a washer on each of the screws (G), then put the 3 screws in the three holes for them before tightening them (the third screw is in the packaging is packed). 5. Insert the massager head with the end of the rod into the stand. Tighten the retaining screws (E) to fi x the massager at the height you want. 6. Hang the massaging belt (C) in the grooves in the belt holders (B). 7. Plug in the massager to the mains: your massage equipment is now ready to use. B D F G H G J A C E G IMPORTANT!
