1 DAYTONA MILTON KEYNES INKART CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 ROUND 2 10 TH MARCH Round 2 of the Daytona Milton Keynes InKart Championship kicked off to a fresh start with an early start for the junior drivers. They managed well and fought off the cold Spring air even with the threat of snow later in the day. INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR Heat 1 The first junior ProKart heat of the day got underway with Stephen Netting on pole, with Dan Bull and Jamil Said giving chase. Stephen and Dan were side by side going into turn 6 of the opening lap when Dan squeezed past and took first place. On the second lap Stephen span out at turn 4 and dropped back around six places. Dan built up a lead of over five seconds by the third lap and continued to press, Jamil and James Ives were tight in second and third but still off the leader. James Ives then gained an advantage by contact around turn 4 and would receive a black flag, making way for an impressive performance from Tyler Parslow gaining fourth position from last. Owen Pearce moved up into second position after starting in seventh, a valiant performance with some quick driving. It finished Dan Bull first by seconds, Owen Pearce second and Jamil Said third. Heat 2 Diego Lopez held pole for the start of the second heat with James Ives second and James Mottram third, a closely packed first lap with Tyler dropping five places after hitting the kerbs too much. James Mottram and Stephen span just before the line on the opening lap dropping them to last on the grid. James went past Stephen on the third lap but was still down the bottom. Dan Bull moved into first place past James Ives and began to put space between them. Owen Pearce took Sam Howell, Tyler Parslow and Mathias around between turns 7 and 8 to move into fifth. Tyler then spun at turn 10. Diego started at the front but had dropped back to fourth by the fifth lap. Dan Bull had made ground of more than four seconds in his sixth and final lap, taking the win and first place, James Ives in second and Jamil in third with a solid race. Tyler changed to a cold kart after complaining of brake issues but couldn t find any real speed sitting low down the grid.

Heat 3 Tyler Parslow started in first followed by Sam and Owen. Owen made second place on turn 5 and then bumped into first but gave the position back.

He then moved into first around turn 7 on the second lap. Sam Howell lost some grip and slipped down the grid into sixth. Dan Bull moved up into third place on the fourth lap at turn 10 past Alex Churchill. Owen had a 3 second lead on his fifth lap over Tyler and Dan Bull a little further back. James Mottram plunged into the tires at turn 4 on the last lap really falling away. Alex pulled out at turn 4 after spinning causing a bottleneck and some drivers spinning. Owen took the win followed by Dan in second and Tyler third. Final Dan Bull held pole position out front followed by Owen Pearce in second and Jamil in third, until Jamil lost out around turn 4 and dropped position back to fifth. Dan and Owen were really close out front with literally nothing in it. James Ives and Tyler Parslow were having a good battle for third place but still fell away from the leaders. James Mottram was pulled up for pedals. Tyler took third place from James Ives on the seventh lap around turn 4. Dan and Owen ran away with this one but in first and second place, followed by Tyler Parslow in third. SENIOR LIGHT Heat 1 The lights got underway with the best side by side start yet, although Dominic Tucker couldn t hold on at turn 2 on the opening lap and found himself at the back of the grid. 3 on the opening few turns and held on strongly, he put a gap of over 8 seconds in by the third lap between him and second place Aaron Kidd. Tom Harbottle was trying to get past Aaron through the middle section and almost managed it, but Aaron just shut the door and retained second. The same manoeuvres between Robert Greenhough and Sam Barclay. Tom and Aaron were chopping and changing positions like the weather through laps four and five, with a number of slingshot manoeuvres sending them past one an other. Harry Law had a huge lead of over 12 seconds as he took the chequered flag, followed in second place by Tom Harbottle and Aaron Kidd in third. Emilio and Vaughan made good progress from a way back in this heat showing signs of speed going into later heats. Heat 2 Vaughan Roberts showed the way in the second heat, followed by Matt Cooley and Tom Harbottle. Sam Barclay spun at turn 5 on the pace lap and had to start at the back of the grid from sixth. Vaughan was mugged going into turn 2 by Tom Harbottle who took first place and then Matt Cooley who moved into second, leaving Vaughan back in third place. Harry Law then took Vaughan at turn 2 to move into third. Andy Bacon took turn 5 too fast and ended up stuck in the tires. Harry Law took second place up the back straight from Matt Cooley. Robert Greenhough took Vaughan due to bad errors around turn 4. With four laps gone Tom Harbottle just held first place, with Harry Law just behind. Vaughan took Matt around turn 4 when attempting his comeback. Harry Law took Tom on the inside of turn 6 to squeeze into first. Matt went on to spin at turn 10 on his fifth lap and dropped down to ninth. Robert had an excellent heat and found himself in third place on the final lap, he held on as Harry Law took first and Tom Harbottle second. Heat 3 Oscar Riley, George Wilson and Matt Cooley started off the heat. Sam Barclay span out at turn 2 of his own accord and dropped all the way down to last place. Aaron took advantage of other drivers spinning at turn 2 to move into third place. Tom Harbottle with an awesome move around turn 11 on the third lap past Aaron, Harry Law then went past him at turn 5 dropping Aaron to fifth. Oscar Riley in first and George Wilson second on the fourth lap. Harry Law also took Tom Harbottle on turn 4, goes on to take George Wilson at turn 9 on the fifth lap. Harry took first place around the inside of turn 4 past Oscar; Aaron also took this opportunity to sneak into third place. George Wilson moved into second on turn 7 of the last lap. Aaron took Tom at turn 10 but then Tom powered back through to keep third place. It finished Harry, George and then Tom. Final Harry Law and Tom Harbottle lead the way for the lights final. George Wilson took Aaron Kidd up the inside after being all over the back of him on the third lap. There was a massive grouping of drivers all the way down to ninth place together for the first five laps, this lead to a number of close clashes and bumping calls. The drivers almost looked like they were starting the race every lap as

they crossed the line with almost identical lap times. Harry Law still held the lead with Tom Harbottle a few seconds behind as they began to move away.

Seventh lap Vaughan took Aaron Kidd at turn 7, Aaron then took him up the inside of turn 11. Only to spin of his own accord at turn 2 letting Vaughan and a whole host of drivers pass. Oscar Riley had an incident and dropped right down to eleventh. George Wilson got the exit wrong between turns 4 and 5 allowing drivers to squeeze through. Harry Law took the win with over a twelve second gap after a flawless race, Tom Harbottle second and Vaughan Roberts third. HEAVY Heat 1 Wayne Robson kicked off the heavies in first place followed by Paul Hakin and David Stevens. Stuart Shearman started at the back of the grid and had third place under wraps before turn 7. David Stevens span out due to a driver error at turn 2 resulting in a lost position. Asad tried to take Gary Mills through turn 4 but span out in the process, although he did still manage to retain position. Wayne had a second gap over second place after three laps, with Stuart half a second back from Paul. Gary Mills took Stuart around turn 8 on the fourth lap; Paul joined in with the overtaking and took Wayne through turns 10 and 11 to move into first. Gary took second place from Wayne on the fifth lap with some more excellent driving. The top four were really close going into the final lap, with Stuart moving past Wayne as he half span at turn four to gain third. It finished

5 Paul first with a best time of , Gary Mills in second and Stuart third. Heat 2 Gary Mills started out front with Stuart Shearman second and Paul Hakin in third. Wayne Robson took Paul Hakin around turn 2 to climb into third place. Paul then span out at turn 8 losing four positions. Asad span out at turn 10 of his own accord and lost one place. Gary, Wayne and Stuart put some space between themselves and the rest. But then Gary span out at turn four after hitting the brakes too hard leaving Wayne in first and Stuart in second. After some close battling Paul managed to get past Stuart on the fourth lap to move into second place. Gary Mills was back giving chase to Stuart Shearman going into the last lap and took third place away from him. Wayne had a five second gap and won the heat without issue, second place was Paul Hakin and third Gary Mills. Heat 3 Robert Atkinson started first with Asad second and Stuart third. Stuart made an extremely fast move to jump into second on the opening lap. He then continued carrying good speed and found himself in first place after two laps. Gary Mills was right on his tail and almost found the gap a number of times. Stuart binned it at turn 5 and dropped down to fifth. Gary dropped to third but then took it back around turn 7 of his fourth lap. On the fifth lap Paul was strong in front, when Gary tried to take him at turn 7 but went wide and lost a place to Stuart instead. Paul loaded Stuart around turn 11 and gained ABC black flag but then Paul binned it at turn 5 anyway allowing Stuart to power through and take first place, Gary Mills in between them in second. Stuart took chequered and first place, Gary second and Asad in third. Final Stuart Shearman held pole for the last race of round 3, followed by Gary Mills and Wayne Robson. Stuart had been pretty consistent to this point so looked to be the favourite, with David Stevens pulling out from the back of the grid. Stuart Shearman and Asad battling around lap 2 and 3 as Asad went past the start line in first then Stuart got it back, with Wayne then popping up to take second around turn 7. Asad took Stuart around turn 8 and just edged in front to first place. Gary Mills popped up around turn eight and then held the lead by around half a second on the fifth lap. Stuart dropped right back but made and awesome move through the inside of turn 11 to take fourth. Gary was only just in front with Asad and Wayne close behind after seven laps. Asad took first going into the eighth lap but they carried on battling and he dropped to third place, with Gary and Wayne first and second. Gary made some sloppy mistakes and dropped four places, he then made ABC on the last lap and had a lap deducted for foul play. Wayne Robson finishing in first, Asad second and Paul Hakin finished third.
