Saturday January 17, :30-9:30PM We will be hosting our "Friends of the Museum" reception in Scottsdale at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch, 7500 E. Doubletree Ranch Road, Scottsdale AZ. The event will take place at the Waterfall Terrace. We hope you are able to join us, please invite folks you thi would be interested in the Museum and The Hagerty Education Program. Please RSVP to me at Valerie@lemaymuseum.org February 7th Our Newest Event at ACM-"Drive Away the Blues" Live music entertainment, gourmet light bites from Pacific Grill, and samples fro local breweries and distilleries - a perfect way to chase away the winter weath blues! This is a "friend raiser" event not a fund raiser. There is more information on our website. We hope you can join us! April 2015 Potential Trip to NYC. We had a good amount of response for this trip so I am working on the trip and will fill you in on more details as th flush out, but a few of the items we are looking at are: Tour of the New York Auto Show; a day trip to see Mr. Bulgari's private collection in Pennsylvania; and of course fine dining and shopping! April 18, 2015 Epicurean Event-Chef Series dinner. With Renowned Che Shaun McCrain- formerly of Book Bindery-will take place at the Mallet Even Space about Esquin in Seattle. The Theme this year is "Kentucky Derby-A Celebration of Horsepower". Get your hats ready and begin dreaming of the best mint Julep you could imagine! Stay tuned for further information. September 6, :30-6:30 Concours Club Reception and our Dinner d'elegance in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Concours d'elegance. September 2015 "A Drive in French Wine Country"-This trip now has space for one couple that has opened up if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible. This type of trip is something we would like to do a yearly or bi-yearly basis depending on interest. Let us know if there are specific international trips you would be interested in. November 7, 2015 Epicurean Event-Chef Series dinner. Details to be confirmed in This will take place in our Concours Club. Ford F-Series: The Truck that Grew Up with America - Opening January 10, 2015 ACM hauls in a "trucktacular" New Year with the opening of the Ford F-Series: The Truck That Grew Up with America exhibit on January 10th. T Truck That Grew Up with America highlights the versatility of the Ford F-Series over the years featuring work trucks, hot rods, luxury and off-road vehicles, like a custom 1956 F-100 in brilliant orange and a 2000 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, a factory-built, supercharged sport truck with a top speed of 140 mph. This car is a numbers matching 413 wedge dual carbureted long ram 375 horsepower letter car which was built to Flying Mile specifications (known as option code 281) with the ultra-rare Borg Warner Heavy Duty manual transmission. It was built for the purpose of using as an East Coast press car and delivered new to the Detroit Chrysler offices for use in news articles, corporate promotion and magazine reviews. The car has its original and highly sought after manual transmission, original engine with original factory stampings, and has its club certification included. The frame-off restoration was completed in October 2014 by a renowned shop to show standards and then fully sorted. The restoration included all mechanical components being expertly rebuilt as well. We have much of the ownership history, original factory manuals and ACM was voted Best Museum in books, spare and jack. HEP travels across the country to automotive "hot spots" looking for master craftsmen in their shops, students for our paid internships and apprenticeships and excellent automotive restoration programs at schools. Read more here. Family STEM Days In January 2015, the Education Department will begin new program called Family STEM Days that will be free with admission! Design, build, tinker, and learn together as you explore the world of automobiles and its relation to science, technology, engineering, and math. On the third Saturday of each month, you and your child, grandchild, or family can spend quality time together exploring activities available in the Education Studio and Family Zone.
