1 Long Distance Running & Cross Country submitted March 14, 2014 by Vince Juliano USATF Grand Prix and Championship schedule was finalized and provided to Bruce for posting on the USATF website on March 3 rd. All 15 races in the 2013 GP are back again this year. Pretty remarkable! Joe S. was also sent the championship schedule so he can arrange officials. Dan Gracey will once again help score the Grand Prix. Fleet Feet Sports and HMRRC have continued their sponsorship. The MHR Half will replace the MHRM as our championship event. We will need to order championship medals for the Half this year. Note: The Half sold out in 16 hours but USATF members were sent 2 reminder s the week prior to the March 1 Registration period informing them that the Half sole out in 6 days last year and if they plan to run, they should register on March 1. (No excuses if they did not heed this advice). ROG4 sold out in 48 hours with 50 final slots opening on line the following week that sold out in less than 10 minutes. 750 registered in total including 120+ USATF athletes. Also 19 USATF teams / 101 runners I plan to run the ROG4 race and help conduct the award ceremony with Pat Glover post race. I have purchased Blue zipped bags with our USATF logo, that include USATF shoelaces and sunscreen for our token USATF awards. Vince

2 Adirondack Association Meeting Mar 18, 2014 Adirondack Officials Committee Report 1) NEW ITEMS: Pizza and Test Meeting for 14 LDR/XC Officials on 2/2/14 From that - 13 New Apprentice officials.. 2) UNRESOLVED ISSUES: a) This is to reiterate my request that all board members become certified officials (V Juliano, et-al) and my position that all permanent office staff (G Regan, P Lynskey, et-al) should also be certified officials... 3) CERTIFICATION: a) 67 member officials listed, will become 68 (after resolution of problems for 1 new official). i) One listed had no membership in 2013 and should be dropped; at least 4 and possibly as many as 5 are not expected to renew their membership in 2014 reducing the actual number to mid- low 60 s. The minimum necessary is 50. Newest 3 are from the Northern Area (Ogdensburg, Canton & Rensselaer Falls). ii) Still need new permanent membership numbers from five. b) About 18 are active = = available for 6 or more events - 10 for RR/XC & 16 for T&F.
