1 H3 MilSim 25+ yrs of simulation Due to the long history of Harpoon, both paper and computer, it is appropriate to touch on the product s history and related commercial products. The emphasis of this presentation is on the H3 MilSim product

2 H3 MilSim Harpoon? H3 MilSim is a professional desktop simulation tool used for analysis, training and education. Computer Harpoon both Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare (ANW) and Harpoon Commander s Edition (HCE) are entertainment air/naval simulation games. ANW reduced version of H3 MilSim HCE light weight version Paper Harpoon is a rules set that simulates modern air/naval combat using tabletop miniatures.

3 What is Paper Harpoon? A set of miniatures rules for modern Naval/Air warfare by Bond/Carlson, with data and scenarios supplemented an international group of hard core naval simulation grognards since 1981 Used as the reference for The Hunt for Red October and used to storyboard the Vampires chapter in Red Storm Rising. Also used in some of Larry Bond s subsequent works.
