2 The Problem The management of enduro events (signup, scoring, posting results) is either done manually, or involves a combination of manual effort and some type of software application (Excel, Word, Access, 3 rd Party,???). No consistent method, application, process, or format for entering, managing, scoring, and reporting on events among clubs and districts. Everyone does it differently. No consistent, efficient, or accurate way to exchange and submit event and results data between clubs, districts, and the AMA. Limited reuse / leveraging of rider data from year to year. Manual, error-prone, and time-intensive process for scoring, posting results, and calculating series standings. This work effort is repeated over and over by each club / district. As new people take over, re-training is necessary, different methods introduced, and processes re-invented.

3 The Vision A single, comprehensive, centralized application and database for: Managing Rider Information: Name, Address, Phone, AMA#, Bike, Class, District, , etc. Same data leveraged / reused across all events and subsequent seasons. Rider Events: Point and click on existing rider record in database Add / Edit / Update rider information on the fly Fast & Accurate Scoring: All points, e-points, detailed results and class / overall rankings generated accurately in seconds Easily throw out a check, enter protest changes, etc. Class and overall placement recalcs in seconds

30 What D-14 Enduro Division Provides 2-3 laptops - Master with database, and secondary for assisting in sign-up, scoring 8-port hub & cables for connecting up to 8 laptops External mouse / mouse pads External dedicated keypad for scoring HP DeskJet 855c Printer or Brother Laser Printer Power strip / surge protector, extension cord Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Training of volunteers All club, district, and AMA reports required for results reporting

31 Promoter Provides 1-2 laptops, depending on size of event and need for speed in processing sign-up and scoring Direct A/C power, or dedicated 1000W+ generatorinverter (pure sine wave) & gas to operate 1-2 large tables / chairs for 4-6 people, laptops, printer, networking equipment Shelter from elements EZ-Up, tent, pavilion, etc. 3-4 volunteers to assist in using MotoTally for sign-up and scoring, depending on size of event

32 Setup & Training Approximately minutes to setup, configure, and network promoter-provided laptops (typically it s 20 minutes) Need 3-4 dedicated volunteers to assist with sign-up and scoring. Comfortable and proficient with standard Office applications (Excel, Word, etc) and efficient keyboard / mouse data entry. Training time: Approximately 5-15 minutes with the right volunteers

33 MotoTally Usage Fee Through an agreement with the developer of MotoTally, each promoter will collect a $1 per rider as a fee for the use of MotoTally and subsequent web reporting Usage-Based: $1 per rider signed up at each event (fee not collected for X / P riders at FES events) Costs passed on to those that directly benefit No large up-front costs or investment by the clubs, promoters, or districts Helps fund future application enhancements, features, provides technical support
