3 1. DESCRIPTION 1.1. Magnum Opus will take place on the roads of Luce County, Michigan on April 21st, The Magnum Opus Rally will run as part of the 2012 Rally America Central Regional Rally Championship Magnum Opus Rally is classified as a coefficient 2 rally Rally Headquarters will be in the Confor Inn Newberry (see Appendix 2 for applicable map) Magnum Opus will start and finish in Newberry, MI, on April 21, There will be a Parc Exposé at the start of the rally. The layout of the Parc Exposé showing the check-in locations is in the route book. Each is identified by standard Clock signs denoting entry into Parc Exposé. Instructions for parking will be given by marshals. Drivers and co-drivers are encouraged to remain near their cars to interact with the public. Servicing in Parcs Exposé may be performed Scheduled service will take place in a single location for the duration of the rally All stages on Magnum Opus are on unpaved surfaces. The competitor can expect roads conditions to be varied with the possibility of snow covered and/or icy conditions Portions of these Regulations that vary from the RA Performance Rally Rules will be indicated by a bar in the left hand margin. The inadvertent omission of this bar shall not be grounds for inquiry or protest Amendments or additional provisions to these Supplementary Regulations will be announced by dated and numbered Competitor Bulletins. All bulletins become an integral part of these regulations. Copies of bulletins will be included in competitor registration packets. Page 3 of 10

5 3. ENTRIES 3.1. Entries open at 12:00 AM on March 1, 2012, and close at the close of registration on April 21, Entry may be made online at margin. There is also a link to this site at Entry Fees are as follows (payment must be received for entry to be valid): Cash / Check Entries received on or before 4/12/2012 After 04/13/2012 Magnum Opus Rally $ 450 $ 550 Credit Card Entries received on or before 4/12/2012 After 04/13/2012 Magnum Opus Rally $ 464 $ 567 Entry fees include one Service Crew Kit and free entrance to the After Event Party for two registered team members and two registered service crew. Extra Party tickets are available for $10.00 each Entries submitted at the event must be paid in cash Payment will be accepted using credit cards on the Rally America web site only Entry fees will be refunded, less a $75.00 processing fee, if the entry is not accepted or if the team withdraws prior to April 13, Entry refunds, after April 13, 2012, will be at the discretion of the rally Chairman. 4. FUEL 4.1. Fuel must meet Rally America rules. No fuel arrangements have been made. Competition teams are responsible for acquiring their own fuel sources. 5. TESTING 5.1. No practice of any nature is allowed on public roads within Luce County for a period of 90 days prior to or following the 2012 Magnum Opus Rally. No team, found in violation, will be allowed to start Magnum Opus. Entry fees will not be refunded. The Chairman and Rally Master shall be the sole arbiters of any potential violation. 6. RECONNAISSANCE 6.1. The 2012 Magnum Opus Rally will not provide reconnaissance of the rally stages. Page 5 of 10

6 7. REGISTRATION 7.1. Competitor registration will be held at the Comfort Inn Newberry Registration will be per schedule in Appendix The Official Notice Board will be at Registration during the open registration hours, the Start and Service Area at the fairgrounds during competition and at the Finish in Newberry PLEASE REMEMBER icipants (competitors, service personnel and volunteers) under 18 years of age must have the signature of one parent or guardian on a Rally America minor waiver form in order to receive a wrist band. We will have these forms available at the registration. In order to prepare this document in advance if needed, a Rally America minor waiver form is available from the Rally America Office upon request Refer to the event website at for updates on available lodging. 8. SCRUTINEERING 8.1. Scrutineering will be held at Newberry Motors (see map Appendix 2 ) Scrutineering will be per schedule in Appendix PRACTICE STAGE 9.1. There will be no prepared practice / shake down stage. 10. START OF THE RALLY The draw for start order, if required, will take place at 9:00 PM on Friday April 20, at Loction TBD The starting list will be posted as soon as possible after the close of registration. The list will be posted on the Official Notice Board no later than 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 21, The official start will take place at the Parc Expose at the time specified in Appendix RUNNING OF THE RALLY All time card exchanges are specified in the Route Book Officials will be identified by the large laminated cards they will wear on their necks All speed limits, which may differ from posted limits, are given in the Route Book. These are mandatory, and any penalties for excessive speed will be based on these speed limits If a control issues a time that the competitor believes to be in error, the competitor will point out the problem to the control worker and request a correction. If the dispute cannot be solved immediately, the worker will, on request, initial the time and note the nature of the dispute in the Control Log. The competitor will then submit a written scoring inquiry to scoring All rally officials and their delegates are Judges of Fact. Their observations constitute valid testimony, and they are authorized to report violations of these rules and the Rally America rules to the Stewards Any circumstances not covered by these Supplementary Regulations and the Rally America Rules shall be decided by the Chairman, Rally Master, or the Stewards, as applicable. 7 11.7. Magnum Opus Newberry All competitors are advised to commit the paragraph in the Rally America rules (7.10) concerning Force Majeure to memory. Remember, all stages are hot unless stopped by a red cross or the Organizers. 12. SERVICE All servicing during the rally will be at the Newberry Fairgrounds There is no limit to the number of service vehicles per competitor, but they must fit within the assigned service spot. Each service vehicle and its personnel must be registered. All service crew participants, including minors, must sign a waiver at Registration. Proof of insurance (declarations page) for all service vehicles is required at registration Only official, competing and registered service vehicles are allowed entry into the service area Service crews must use a tarp under competing vehicles at all times while they are being serviced. These tarps must extend beyond the vehicle in all directions. Violation will constitute illegal service as per PRR 8.2.A All fuel depots are located in the transits. They are in close proximity to the service areas, so that additional service personnel will not be required. The only permitted activity in a fuel depot is the addition of fuel as defined by PRR 10.1.F. Competitors or service crews must Magnum Opus Rally fuel from commercial gas stations located along transit sections of the route is permitted. All work involved in adding fuel must be performed by the driver and co-driver. The requirements of PRR 7.11.D must be observed. No added allowance is included in transit times for such fueling. Fuel depots will close 15 minutes after the last car is due. All equipment must be removed by Magnum Opus Rally Trailers may not be parked in service areas. Trailers used for servicing are excepted. Trailer parking will be available near the service area for the duration of the event. 13. IMPOUND AND TEAR DOWN All finishing vehic at the final Main Time Control. The vehicles are required to remain in the Impound area until released by the Event Steward or his designee, or referred for additional inspection as directed Selected vehicles may be subject to tear-down at a time and place to be announced. 14. RESULTS Results will be posted in accordance with Rally America rules. Trophies will be presented to the drivers and co-drivers of the winning entries in each class, provided a minimum of two (2) cars are entered in the class. Trophies will also be presented to the Overall winners of Magnum Opus Rally. Additional awards may be announced via OfficialNotice. Page 7 of 10
