Kickoff is 12:30 at Memorial Field. Colgate played its first two games at home losing to Central Connecticut on a last second field goal, before rebounding with a win over #15 ranked Massachusetts last Saturday. This is Dartmouth's season opener and first game under new head coach Buddy Teevens. The Big Green was 1-9 last season. Teevens is in his second tour of duty with Dartmouth having served as head coach between THE SERIES This is the 20th meeting between Colgate and Dartmouth with the Raiders leading the overall series, Colgate has won six straight against the Big Green, and 12 of the last 13 contests. Last year, Colgate came from behind to edge Dartmouth, The Raiders are at Memorial Field with a three-game winning streak. COLGATE VS. WHAT TO LOOK FOR Colgate head coach Dick Biddle is currently tied with Fred Dunlap ( ) for second place in career victories with 77. The all-time leader is Andy Kerr with 95 ( ). RANKING OF TOTAL WINS IN I-AA Over the last four seasons, Colgate was tied for third among all Division I-AA teams in victories with 38. Over the last three years, the Raiders were first with 31, and over the last two years, they were second with 22. UNDER BIDDLE IN PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAY During Biddle s tenure, the Raiders have the best record in Patriot League play with a mark. Lehigh is second at 44-12, and Bucknell third COLGATE HEAD COACH Colgate head coach Dick Biddle is in his 10th season with the Raiders. He has an overall record of for a.706 winning percentage. He is the fifth winningest active Division I-AA coach. In 2003, he was named the American Football Coaches Association Division I-AA National Coach of the Year, and for the second time in his career Patriot League Coach of the Year. His winning percentage is the highest of any coach who has coached eight or more seasons in the Patriot League. He is tied for second in school history with 77 career victories. Biddle is the first Colgate coach to post nine straight winning seasons and the first Colgate coach to record eight straight seasons with seven or more victories. He led all tacklers with 12, including nine solo, in a upset win over #15 ranked Massachusetts. Nepa also had one interception, his seventh career pick, one pass break up and one quarterback hurry. He helped the Raiders hold UMass to 84 rushing yards on 26 carries. SUTTON NAMED PATRIOT LEAGUE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Junior punter Jason Sutton (North Easton, Mass.) has been named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Massachusetts. Sutton punted nine times for 31.8 yards per punt, including three punts inside the 20-yard line, which held down his overall average. He also ran for a first down on a 29-yard run after a high snap on a punt attempt. TOTAL DEFENSE Last season, Colgate finished ninth in the nation in total defense, allowing yards per game. In 2003, the Raiders were 15th in total defense

LONG GRANTED A SIXTH YEAR Colgate wide receiver DeWayne Long (West Des Moines, IA) has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Long was the Raiders second-leading receiver last season while earning first team all-patriot League honors. He had 55 receptions for 737 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns. He transferred to Colgate from the University of Nebraska in the fall During Colgate s 2003 run to the NCAA Division I-AA title game, Long played in all 16 games while making 14 catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns. He had a game-winning catch with 5.6 seconds left in the opener against Georgetown, and his other touchdown came in the NCAA Division I-AA playoff win over Florida Atlantic.
