State RE-EMERGING UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF HEAD COACH MICHELLE CLARK-HEARD Under the leadership of head coach Michelle Clark-Heard, the Lady Topper Basketball program is in the midst of a re-emergence onto the national scene. WKU posted a 9-21 record in the season prior to Clark- Heard s arrival at WKU. She quickly turned around the record in year one by winning 13 additional games and posting a record, the largest turnaround in Sun Belt Conference history. She followed her successful rookie campaign with a 24-9 mark in and the program s 10th Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship and the 17th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. For her efforts in , Clark-Heard was named the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year at Ark. State vs. Ark.
