5 2018 CLASS NOTCHES 100TH WIN The class of Kelsey Mitchell, Alexa Hart, Asia Doss and Makayla Waterman -- has had a successful four years and recently notched its 100th victory. Fittingly, the 100th win came on Senior Day as the Buckeyes knocked-off Purdue on Feb. 18, This class won 106 games, two Big Ten Championships, a Big Ten Tournament title and made four NCAA Tournament appearances. MCGUFF WINS 20 AGAIN This was Kevin McGuff 's 16th season as a head coach and he has now recorded 20 wins in 14 of those seasons. He has failed to reach 20 wins just twice in his career, going in his second year at Xavier and going in his fi rst season at Ohio State. McGuff led the Buckeyes to 24, 26, 28 and 28 wins over the last four seasons. MAKING AND SHARING Kelsey Mitchell is one of just 13 players in NCAA history with 3,000 career points. She also joined another exclusive club on Feb. 8. Mitchell dished-out her 500th career assist in the win over Rutgers. Of the 13 players who have scored 3,000 points, just four of them also have 500 career assists -- Maya Moore (3,036 points, 544 assists), Kelsey Plum (3,527 points, 523 assists), Rachel Banham (3,093 points, 522 assists) and Kelsey Mitchell (3,402 points, 545 assists). That's not only an impressive group of players but its also an impressive feat to score 3,000 career points and give out 500 helpers. THREE STREAKING Kelsey Mitchell fi nished her career by making at least one three-pointer in 92-straight games. That is an NCAA record, passing the old mark of 80 set by Heather Butler of UT Martin from The last time Mitchell failed to make a three-pointer in a game came against Michigan State on Dec. 31, 2015 when she was 0-for-10 from beyond the arc BIG TEN STANDINGS (Through regular season) TEAM CONFERENCE OVERALL STRK HOME ROAD PF PA #10 Ohio State W #17 #16 Maryland L Nebraska L Iowa L Minnesota L Michigan L Indiana L Purdue L Rutgers L Michigan State L Penn State L Northwestern L Wisconsin L Illinois L THE MOST OF ANYONE!! She passed West Liberty's Laura Malernee who made 441 threes from with a three-pointer against Maryland on Jan. 22. Malernee is from central Ohio and went to nearby Gahanna Lincoln High School. BIG TEN ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER On Jan. 27 vs. Michigan State, Kelsey Mitchell scored a game-high 23 points and in the process, passed Minnesota's Rachel Banham to become the Big Ten's all-time leading scorer for male or female players. Banham had scored 3,093 points in her career while Indiana's Calbert Cheaney holds the record on the men's side with 2,613 points. Mitchell fi nished her career at 3,402 career points which is second in NCAA history. CHASING HISTORY In the game against Indiana on Jan. 13, 2018, Kelsey Mitchell became the 13th player in NCAA history to reach the 3,000-point milestone. The starting quintet scored 88.1 percent of the team's points. MAGIC NUMBER 70 Head coach Kevin McGuff s style of fast paced offense leads to more possessions and hopefully more points. Since he took over at the start of the season, the Buckeyes are when scoring at least 80 points and when scoring at least 70 points. Year <70 pts >70 pts >80 pts >90pts Totals DOUBLING-UP Stephanie Mavunga recorded a team-high 19 double-doubles this year while Linnae Harper had 13. Mavunga had 57 double-doubles in her career and is averaged 16.6 points and 11.0 rebounds per game this season. Harper averaged 14.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. They were one of just three duos in the country with 13 or more double-doubles. SHARING THE LOVE Under head coach Kevin McGuff, the Buckeyes have dished-out 20 or more assists in a game 30 times and are 29-1 in those games. Dating back to the season, the Buckeyes have won 58 of the last 61 games when sharing on 20 or more of their fi eld goals. The Buckeyes hit the 20-assist mark 14 times last season and eight times this season. HITTING THE GLASS When the Buckeyes win the battle on the boards, they usually end up winning the game. Ohio State is 66-5 under McGuff when out-rebounding the opponent. 179-STRAIGHT WITH A THREE Ohio State has made at least one three-point fi eld goal in 179-straight games. The last time the Buckeyes failed to make a three-pointer in a game was on Feb. 10, 2013 at Northwestern. OSU was 0-of-6 from long range that game. Over the streak, the Buckeyes have made 10 or more threes in a game 40 times. Ohio State has made 34.9 percent (1,303-3,738) of its shots from beyond the arc and is averaging 7.3 threes per game during the streak. 1,000 WINS IN SCHOOL HISTORY Ohio State is the winningest program in the Big Ten and on Nov. 15 vs. Idaho, became the fi rst team in the conference 1,000 wins. The Buckeyes are just the ninth program in NCAA history to notch 1,000 victories. Overall, Ohio State is 1, for a.703 winning percentage. MAVUNGA 16 OR MORE BOARDS Six times this season, redshirt-senior Stephanie Mavunga grabbed 16 or more rebounds in a game. Since 2000, no Buckeye had grabbed 16 or more rebounds in a game more than three times in a season. That includes a career-high 26 rebounds in the season-opening win over Stanford as well as a Big Ten Tournament record 21 rebounds in the semifi nal win over Minnesota. 1,500 / 1,000 / 300 Stephanie Mavunga fi nished her career with 1,733 points, 1,263 rebounds and 316 blocked shots. She was one of only two active players in the 6 country this year with more than 1,600 career points, 1,000 career rebounds and 300 career blocks. She blocked seven shots in the game to go along with 26 points and 21 rebounds. SHARE?? OR NOT SHARE?? Against Penn State on Jan. 31, the Buckeyes chose wisely on how to share the basketball. OSU dished-out a season-high 23 assists as four different players recorded at least four helpers in the game. Conversely, the Buckeyes didn't share the ball well with Penn State, committing a then season-low seven turnovers. Those two stats went a long way in securing a victory over the Lady Lions. That was the fi rst 20-assist game for the Buckeyes since Dec. 15 and it game just two games after dishing a season-low fi ve assists at Iowa. HITTING TRIPLE DIGITS The Buckeyes scored 100 or more points four times this season which tied the OSU single-season record. OSU also notched four 100-point games during the season. The Buckeyes have hit the 100-point mark 33 times in school history and 14 of those instances have come in the last four years under Mc- Guff. FOUR WITH 1,000 POINTS Ohio State had four players on its roster with over 1,000 career points this season. Kelsey Mitchell became the fastest player in school history 1,000 career points and the fastest player in NCAA history (since 1981) to 2,000 career points. She fi nished her career second all-time in NCAA history with 3,402 points. Stephanie Mavunga reached 1,000 career points last season and fi nished with 1,733 points. THREE AT 20+ Against Michigan State on Jan. 27, three Buckeyes scored 20 or more points -- Kelsey Mitchell 23, Linnae Harper 22 and Stephanie Mavunga 20. Since 1999, that was just the sixth time three Buckeyes scored 20+ in a game. The most recent occurrence came on Feb. 24, 2016 when Shayla Cooper had 25 points, Mitchell had 21 points and Ameryst Alston had 20 points in an overtime game at Minnesota.

7 ROUGH WEEK The Buckeyes had a rough week in the middle of the January but have since rebounded nicely. OSU opened the week with a tough setback at No. 14 Maryland on Jan. 22. Next was trip to No. 25 Iowa last Thursday in which the Buckeyes fell behind early and just weren't able to get over the hump in a setback. The third game in fi ve days was against Michigan State last Saturday. It was a two-point game with just over nine minutes remaining before the Buckeyes caught fi re and pulled away down the stretch. OSU shot over 85 percent in the fourth quarter against Michigan State. 17 THREES TIES A RECORD Ohio State made 17 three-pointers in its game against No. 9 Louisville on Nov. 12, tying the school's single-game record. Subsequently, she earned the weekly honor on Jan. 8. She then led the buckeyes to a pair of wins over Illinois and Purdue, averaging 27 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals in those games to earn her fourth award. She scored 26 points and grabbed a Big Ten Tournament record 26 rebounds to go along with seven blocks in the semifi nal win over Minnesota. MITCHELL PASSES SMITH & LAVENDER, BECOMES OSU ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER Anytime you move past a legend like Katie Smith and a WNBA All-Star Jantel Lavender on a career chart, you know you've accomplished something. Kelsey Mitchell scored 30 points in the season-opening win over No. 10 Stanford and passed Smith on the OSU scoring charts to move into No. 2 She then scored 30 points in a win at Florida on Dec. 6, 2017 to pass Lavender and become the school's all-time leading scorer. Smith scored 2,578 points in her four years ( ) while Lavender notched 2,818 points from WHAT HAPPENED IN VEGAS Even though it happened in Vegas, we want to tell you about it. The Buckeyes won the Play4Kay Showcase over the Thanksgiving weekend behind a number of record and milestone performances. In the fi rst game, Stephanie Mavunga dominated Memphis to the tune of a career-high 35 points and 16 rebounds. She was 15-of-20 shooting and played just 24 minutes. The win over Memphis in the opening round marked the 100th victory as OSU head coach for Kevin McGuff. KEEPING THEIR HANDS TO THEMSELVES In the win over Dartmouth on Dec. 15, the Buckeyes were whistled for just two fouls in the game. That set the school record for fewest fouls in a 7 game, breaking the old mark of four. As a result, the Big Green did not attempt a free throw which marked the third time in school history in which an OSU opponent didn't attempt a free throw. 26 REBOUNDS??? Stephanie Mavunga set the OSU single-game record by grabbing 26 rebounds in the season-opening win over No. 10 Stanford on Nov. 10. She broke Mary Sivak's previous mark of 25 set way back on March 3, The 26 rebounds are the most by any player in the country this season. Mavunga's previous single-game high was 17. She also added 17 points in the game. GET EM IN EARLY The Buckeyes opened the season by playing nine games in the fi rst three weeks of the season. That was nearly a third of the team's 30 regular season games in the opening three weeks. The Buckeyes opened with two games against top-10 teams in the fi rst three days of the year and went 1-1. They then played three games in a fi ve-day stretch before heading to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend for three games in three days. The game vs. Duke on Nov. 30 marked three weeks since the start of the season. SO MUCH FOR WADING IN The Buckeyes didn't take it slow to start they season as they are played two top-10 teams right out of the gate. Ohio State opened with an victory over No. 10/9 Stanford on Nov. 10 and then fell in an overtime battle with No. 9/10 Louisville on Nov. 12. This was just the second time in school history Ohio State started a season with back-to-back games against top-10 teams. OSU also began the season at No. 2 South Carolina and at home against No. 1 UConn. The Buckeyes fell short in both of those contests. THAT'S THE WAY TO START The Buckeyes opened the year with a resounding victory over No. 10 Stanford on Nov. 10. The 21-point victory was the second largest win over a top-10 ranked team for the Buckeyes only behind an win over No. 1 Texas on Jan. 2, DOMINATING THE GLASS The Buckeyes dominated one of the taller rosters in the country in Stanford (average height of over 6'0") in their victory on Nov. 10.
