1 The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division and the Indiana Hunter Education Association will host the Ninth Annual Indiana NASP State Tournament on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Champions and Blue Ribbon Pavilions, Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis, Indiana. All rules contained in this packet are designed to comply with National NASP Tournament rules. Items in RED are new or revised rules. A 3-D tournament will be held in conjunction with the traditional target tournament The rule packet for the 3-D tournament will also be released on Watch the NASP site closely for any changes in these rules. SECTION 1 A- ELIGIBLE SCHOOLS 1) The basic foundation of NASP is the in-school archery unit. Therefore, only schools that teach NASP as part of the in-school curriculum are eligible to compete as teams or individuals in this tournament. 2) Every archer must attend a public, private, charter, magnet, or homeschool offering NASP curriculum during standard school hours. 3) This tournament is NOT for schools or clubs that offer archery as an after-school or individual activity ONLY. 4) A 'school', for the purposes of participation in NASP tournaments, is a building or set of buildings on the campus where students attend. a) For instance, a high school may have 9th grade and 10th-12th grade students on the same campus with the same address, but in different buildings. For the purposes of NASP participation, this is one school. b) In another school all students K-12, 6-12, etc. may be in the same building or buildings on the same campus with the same address. This is one school. 5) If a school or campus is at a separate address such as the 'North Middle School and North Elementary School' even if in the same district, they are separate schools and separate campuses and may not mingle archers on teams, unless shooting up (See #10 below). a) Except: If elementary grades (4th and 5th) are not in the same school the schools where the two grades are found may combine students to form elementary teams. Example: this could be a school with K-4 and a school combining with a 5-8 or 5-12 school. b) Except: If middle school grades (6-8) are not in the same school the schools where the three grades are found may combine students to form middle school teams. Example: this could be a K-6 school combining with a 7-8 or 7-12 school. c) Except: If high school grades (9-12) are not in the same school the schools where the four grades are found may combine students to form high school teams. Example: this could be a school with 9-10 combining with an school. 6) A student who is homeschooled may only participate if the homeschool has enrolled in NASP and provides NASP archery lessons by a NASP certified instructor. 2 a) EXCEPTION: Some homeschooled students receive Physical Education, from public or private schools. If the homeschooled student receives NASP lessons while attending classes at a NASP public or private school that student may participate for the homeschool or the school where the archer receives NASP classes, IF the school agrees. b) The home-schooled student is ineligible if archery lessons are after-school only. 7) Single Gender and Small Schools: If the school is single gender, opposite gender participants may come from other NASP schools in the same city, county, or school district. If the school contains fewer than 150 students (combination of grades 4-12) the team may be comprised of students from other participating small (< 150 students) NASP schools in the same city, county, or district. Eligible NASP schools can join together until a total of 150 NASP eligible students (combination of grades 4-12) is met. SECTION 1 B- ELIGIBLE TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS 1) Team competition will be among school teams consisting of a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 24 archers. At least 4 members must be of the opposite gender. 2) Competitive Divisions: a) Elementary: Grades 4 & 5 b) Middle: Grades 6, 7 & 8 c) High: Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12 3) A team s division will be assigned based on the highest grade represented. Example: a team comprised of 4 th, 5 th and 6 th graders will be assigned to the Middle School Division. 4) Only students who are in grades 4-12 by the date of the tournament may participate. a) Except: A student in 3rd grade may participate if a letter, on school letterhead, signed by the principal is provided to NASP indicating the student can safely perform all tournament procedures with NASP specific equipment. If there are multiple 3 rd graders on a team they can be listed on the same letter. All 3 rd graders must be listed by name. b) This letter must be mailed to Indiana NASP, P O Box 194, Montpelier, IN and postmarked by March 5, c) K-2 students are ineligible. 5) When building a team for the state tournament a student who by grade would be in a younger division (elementary or middle), may shoot up' for a team in an older division. a) To shoot up the student must be from the same school or same district and both schools offer NASP as part of the school's curriculum. b) Students may only shoot on a team at the NASP school they attend, unless shooting up, c) If a student shoots up for a higher division team that student will be competing for team rank in that older division. d) If a student shoots up for a higher division team that student will still be competing for individual rank among students in his or her actual, younger division. 3 6) Schools who cannot field a team (have less than 12 eligible archers), homeschooled students (taught by an Indiana NASP certified instructor) or students who are part of an after school program (as a result of an in school NASP archery unit in their school, but have less than 12 archers) are invited to compete for individual awards. They must qualify through the qualifier process and must be entered in the tournament by the coach approved by the school they are representing. 7) All archers competing as part of a team will automatically be entered as individual archers, making them eligible to receive individual awards. 8) A student at a NASP school that has graduated during the current school year (i.e. early) may, at the discretion of the coach, be registered to participate. 9) A student who no longer attends a NASP school due to having moved, promoted, etc. is ineligible to participate in this tournament until/unless the student's new school has or joins NASP and the student may then only represent their NEW school. 10) NASP is a school program. If a school administration deems a student unsuited to represent the school, Indiana NASP will abide by the decision. Ineligibility generally occurs when a student has been disciplined or for academic reasons. a) A student may NOT be entered by another school or coach if the student s school administration has deemed the student unsuited to represent the school they are enrolled in. 11) Participation will be determined by your team s standings after all qualifier scores are received and tabulated. The final number of participants will be dependent on final range layout considerations. 12) Each registered Coach for the team (limit 3) must be at least BAI (Basic Archery Instructor) certified. Other coaching staff may be utilized, but a maximum of three may be registered with the team. 13) The school principal s name & telephone number must be provided during the qualifier registration process. a) Indiana NASP may choose to contact the principal to confirm eligibility SECTION 2 - QUALIFIER Please reference a separate document titled 2016 Indiana NASP Tournament Qualifier for specific rules pertaining to the qualifier for Indiana. This document will be available online at SECTION 3 - REGISTRATION PROCESS 1) All registrations will be made on-line using the National Tournament registration system located at 2) The head coach must have valid BAI number, username & password for on-line registration. 3) The addresses listed must be those of the actual coach. 4 4) Archers may only be entered into the tournament by the coaching staff officially recognized by the student s school administration. 5) All schools must pre-register their prospective team for the state tournament at the preregistration website Pre-registration does not guarantee your team will qualify for the State Tournament; it merely expedites the process of flight registration if you do qualify. Pre-registration begins on January 1, 2016 and concludes February 14, 2016 at 11:59 PM ET 6) Flight selection opens at 08:00 AM (EST) on February 22, 2016 and closes at 11:59 PM on February 25, ) Flight Selection tiers are as follows : a) 2/22/2016 Tier 1 i) All individuals ii) First place team in each division b) 2/23/2016 Tier 2 i) Elementary School greater than 2,999 ii) Middle School greater than 3,199 iii) High School greater than 3,299 c) 2/24/2016 Tier 3 i) Elementary School greater than 2,849 ii) Middle School greater than 3,099 iii) High School greater than 3,199 d) 2/25/2016 Tier 4 i) Elementary School greater than 2,649 ii) Middle School greater 2,999 iii) High School greater than 3,099 8) The above qualifying scores are subject to change dependent upon scores submitted during the qualifier process. Scores may be adjusted to ensure fairness to all qualified teams. 9) Scores falling within the above guidelines do not guarantee acceptance into the State Tournament. 10) The registration fee will be $30.00 per archer. 11) Please print your invoice after you have registered for your flights and mail it, along with a check or money order payable to Indiana NASP, to: NASP Tournament, P O Box 194, Montpelier, IN All registrations must be paid in full by March 5, Registrations are non-refundable unless the tournament is cancelled. You are responsible to pay for the number of archers on your roster at the close of registration. 12) Any changes after registration closes will need to be addressed at the tournament registration table one hour or more before your scheduled flight time. 5 SECTION 4 - TIME CONSIDERATIONS 1) The tournament will be conducted on March 12, ) Flight times are as follows: Flight 1 7:30 AM ET Flight 2-8:40 AM ET Flight 3 9:50 AM ET Flight 4 11:00 AM ET Flight 5 12:10 PM ET Flight 6 1:20 PM ET Flight 7 2:30 PM ET Flight 8 3:40 PM ET Flight 9 4:50 AM ET Shoot off for placings (if necessary) and overall champions shoot off 6:30 PM ET Awards 7:00 PM ET We will make every effort to stay on schedule. Your patience is appreciated. 3) It is advantageous to split your team between 2 consecutive flights to allow more effective coaching and avoid bow shortages. 4) Competitors must be ready to report to their lanes 30 minutes before their assigned shooting time. To meet this time requirement, schools should arrive at the tournament registration desk at least 1 hour before their shooting time. 5) Schools and/or participants that arrive after their scheduled flight time will not be allowed to participate in the tournament. 6) Students and equipment may be dropped off and picked up on the south side of the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Competitor Entrance. 7) Schools are encouraged to stay until the completion of the awards ceremony in the spirit of good sportsmanship. SECTION 5 - QUALIFIED EQUIPMENT Bows 1) All bows must be delivered to the bow racks prior to the beginning of the flight. An equipment check will be performed before shooting. 2) Once inspected, the bow must remain on the range unless a repair is needed and approved by a lane official. 3) Except for major malfunction the same bow must be used throughout the competition. 6 4) A non-compliant bow must be removed from the competition and brought into compliant condition by the head coach before competition begins or resumes. 5) No bows should be placed on the bow rack until the previous flight has cleared their bows. An announcement will be made when the previous flight is cleared and the new flight may approach the range. 6) Only stock, unmodified NASP Genesis compound bow, of any color may be used. 7) No Genesis Mini, Genesis Pro or GenX models are permitted. 8) The bow's draw weight must remain unchanged throughout the flight after the 1st scored arrow is shot at 10 meters. 9) Only tied on or heat shrink nock locators are permitted. Brass nock locators are prohibited. Instructions for tying on a nock locator are available at a) Two tie on nock locators are permitted, one above and one below the nocking point. b) If using two nock locators the gap between them must be < nock widths. 10) The bow must be sight and sight-mark free prior to being placed on the bow rack. a) The inside and opposite side of the sight window must be kept free of any raised edges, such as tape, bubble logos, etc b) Camouflage bows may be used, but the face of the riser window must be covered to prevent camouflage lines serving as sight-marks. c) Tape or paint to cover sight marks will be applied to the face of the sight window at a point starting at the top of the bow s grip and running at least 6 up the face of the sight window towards the top limb. d) Tape or paint placed to cover sight-marks must remain in place throughout the competition. e) Archers and coaches should comply with this rule before their flight time. f) If sight marks are discovered the archer or coach will be asked to cover them. g) An archer s bow may be personalized by painting, stickers, etc. as long as no sighting advantage is gained. 11) The bow must be free of draw stops or stabilizers. 12) The bowstring and cables may be after-market but of the same approximate length. 13) The standard cable guard, grip, slide (black), wheel, cam, bearings, riser, and limbs must be original and unmodified. 14) The arrow rest must be original and unmodified. The rest arm sleeve may be original, absent, or replaced with heat shrink tubing similar to the original rest arm sleeve. 15) If your school does not have enough bows (figure 1 bow for every 2 archers), please request loner bows (and designate right or left handed) in advance of the tournament to chclark@dnr.in.gov so we can have bows available for your use. 7 16) A limited amount of loner bows will be available in case of equipment failure the day of the tournament. All loner bows must be checked out and back in with tournament staff at the competitor entrance. a) The school will be held responsible for any damage to loner bows. Arrows 17) Tournament officials will provide 5 push-in nock arrows (and replacements as needed) for each archer s floor quiver. 18) All tournament arrows are new, so there is no need to bring your school arrows. 19) If you do choose to bring school or personal arrows, the following will apply: a) Only the stock (original) unmodified Easton 1820 arrows approved for NASP may be used. b) School or personal arrows must be clearly marked prior to bringing to the quiver or they will be removed from the range. i) Arrows must be marked on the vane. ii) Arrow shaft may be marked, crested or taped above the mid-point (toward the nock). c) If school or personal arrows are used, a readily accessible supply of replacements must be on hand. d) Arrow nocks may be the NASP glue-on or push-in nock or a combination of both. e) Arrow points must be the NASP standard; glue-in, cone shaped and weighing 60 grains. f) Arrow vanes must be soft plastic, long and no more than.4-.6 in height and attached to the shaft with a straight off-set of approximately 1.5 degrees. Only 3 vanes may be on the arrow. Vanes may be of any brand or shape but must be within the listed dimensions. g) NEW: New Archery Products (NAP), the maker of the Genesis bow arrow rest, has developed a replacement vane system for NASP. This system will be permitted in NASP schools and tournaments. It meets our dimension specifications outlined above. It is called NASP SPEEDFLETCH (patents: 7,955,2901 & 6,142,896). This vane system will have the NASP logo marking the index vane. h) ALL school and/or personal arrows MUST be transported to and from the range in a secure tube, box, bowcase or similar safe container. Accessories 20) Archers may wear finger tabs, tape, or gloves to protect draw-hand fingers. 21) Chest protectors and armguards may be used. 22) Finger or wrist slings are allowed. Wrist slings may be attached using the stock bolt that comes with the strap. The bolt must be made of steel or plastic and must protrude one inch or less beyond the bow s accessory hole. 23) Archers may wear eye patches or glasses. Revised10/28/2015 cc Page - 7 -

8 24) 'No-glove' finger-protection devices may be placed on the bowstring, but must be without anchor or sighting aids such as a ' kisser or locator button. 25) Heat shrink tubing may be placed on the bowstring to reduce finger strain but the tubing must cover the entire center serving above and below the nock locator(s). 26) Vibration dampening devices may not be placed on any part of the bow. 27) Mechanical release aids are prohibited, except as pre-approved solutions for physically challenged archers. 28) While accommodation of the challenged archer is important, other competitors must not be impacted by the accommodation. Commonly allowed situations include: a) Wheel chairs are permitted if needed. b) In the case of hearing or visually impaired archers, a coach or parent may provide assistance at the shooting line. A lane official must be alerted before shooting begins. c) Mouth tabs are permitted for archers whose physical challenges make drawing the bowstring impossible. 29) Archers who use crutches may shoot from a chair or have coach assistance to stand. 30) Potential special accommodations for physically challenged archers are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact tournament staff prior to the event with questions or concerns about your archer. 31) At official discretion, any bow, arrow, or accessory may be subjected to inspection, including dismantling and weighing. Anyone found using disallowed equipment or modifications will forfeit awards and be disqualified. Disqualification may affect their team's rank. SECTION 6 - RANGE SET UP 1) Targets will be 80 cm FITA face with 10 scoring rings. 2) Target butts will be placed directly on the floor similar to the height of school butts. 3) Paper targets will be placed on the butts within premeasured white markings to ensure uniformity of placement and will be 4 6 above the floor. 4) Target line will be approximately 2 yards or meters from the target butts. 5) There will be 10 meter (32' 10 ) and 15 meter (49' 2 ) shooting lines. 6) The waiting line will be 4 5 yards or meters beyond the 15 meter shooting line. 7) A 'Coach s Alley' will be delineated between the waiting line and spectators. a) Only three coaches from each team may be in the coach s alley. b) Coaches in the alley must wear credentials provided at registration (wrist strap, etc.) c) For teams, at least one coach must be immediately available and located with his or her team while the team is shooting in case issues must be resolved. Coaches must display positive sportsmanship while in this alley. d) We encourage alley coaches to be seated as much as possible to prevent blocking the view of spectators in the audience. 9 e) Coaches may NOT talk to archers while shooting is in progress. 8) Each shooting lane will be 5 feet wide and will have 2 archers assigned per lane. a) The shooter s label on their scorecard will specify Left or Right indicating which half of the shooting lane each archer is assigned. The shooting lane lines will also be labeled. b) The tournament-provided arrow quiver must be placed ON the shooting line in FRONT of the archer. Each archer will have a quiver. c) Shooter and quiver must remain in their half of the assigned lane when on the shooting line. d) Archers from 2 opposing schools (where possible) will be assigned to each lane. e) Crowding across the middle of the lane is considered unsportsmanlike conduct and can result in disqualification. f) Archers must have one foot on each side of the shooting line with bows on toes before shooting begins. SECTION 7 - COMPETITION FORMAT Whistle Signals: NASP whistle commands will be used to operate the range --- Range officials will use this language to instruct archers whistles for an emergency 2. 2 whistles to get bow 3. 1 whistle to shoot, 4. 3 whistles to go get arrows ALL archers must know and obey all whistle commands. 1) Archers must walk when moving about the range. No running will be tolerated at any time. 2) The archer must nock, pre-draw, draw, and aim in a manner to prevent the arrow from being pointed above the backstop curtain or at the floor. 3) The archer MUST keep their bow vertical at all times during the shooting process. 4) Range safety rules will be the same as the NASP program and will be adhered to by all. 5) Each archer will shoot one (1) practice ends of 5 arrows at 10 meters. 6) Each archer will shoot 3 ends of 5 arrows (total of 15 shots) at 10 meters. 7) Each archer will shoot one (1) practice end of 5 arrows at 15 meters. 8) Each archer will shoot 3 ends of 5 arrows (total of 15 shots) at 15 meters. 9) Time limit per end will be 2 minutes beginning with the 1 whistle "shoot" command. 10) Dropped arrows will be left on the floor and replaced by a range official. 11) Bounce-outs will be shot immediately within the end and with the permission of the tournament officials. 10 12) An arrow that reaches the target line in the air or by sliding on the floor without hitting the target is considered a shot rather than a dropped or a bounce-out arrow and will be score zero. 13) If an archer is unable to safely use the equipment and follow range protocols that archer may be removed from the competition. 14) If the archer s draw weight and draw length aren t sufficient to perform on par with other archers in the tournament the archer may be removed. Generally this is indicated by arrows that repeatedly fail to reach the target and/or stick in the target butt. 15) After shooting the last arrow the archer must immediately leave the shooting line, rack the bow, and return behind the waiting line. SECTION 8 - SCORING 1) Scores will be recorded on Scantron scoring cards. Practice cards are available at and it is recommended that students practice using these cards to score during practice sessions prior to the competition. a) Both archers scorecards will be on the same score board, secured with a rubber band. 2) Archers should know how to score targets. Beginning in the center of the target, scoring rings are 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, & 1. a) An arrow that isn t in a scoring ring or misses the target is awarded 0 points. b) An arrow touching the line is awarded the higher ring value. c) The X ring in the center of the 10 scoring ring is scored only as a part of the 10 ring in this tournament -- ( X counts are not tabulated). d) An arrow that 'robin-hoods' another arrow receives the value of the arrow in the target. e) An arrow that skips off the floor and bounces off the target is treated as a bounce out. f) An arrow that skips off the floor and imbeds in the target is scored where it sticks. 3) Only the student archer and tournament officials will be allowed downrange of the waiting line. Coaches must remain in or behind coaches alley at all times. 4) Indiana NASP will assign range officials to assist archers as necessary. a) Only range officials may have erasers at the targets. If the archer needs a score erased, the lane official will perform the task. The lane official will document such official action on the back of the scorecard. 5) Archers must remain standing when at the targets and pulling arrows. 6) Archers will score their own arrows. Their lane mate will bubble the scorecard with pencil only. Both archers must agree on the arrow s value before recording the official score. a) One archer will stop at the Target Line while the other archer approaches the target. b) The archer at the target calls out the score of his or her own arrows while the archer behind the Target Line records (bubbles) the score in pencil. All arrows remain in the target. c) Archers will then reverse roles, the other calling his or her personal arrows while the other archer bubbles. All arrows remain in the target. 11 7) If archers cannot agree on an arrow's score, a range official must be asked for the final decision. 8) No arrows may be touched before ALL arrows in the target are scored and recorded. a) Moving or pushing an arrow into the target face to affect an arrow s score can result in disqualification b) Moving the target face to affect an arrow s score can result in disqualification. 9) The archer must alert a range official regarding an error before pulling arrows. 10) If an archer observes another archer recording a false score, a range official must be alerted immediately and before arrows are pulled. 11) After both archers are satisfied that arrow values have been accurately recorded, they may then approach the target, one archer at a time, and pull their own arrows. Recorded scores are considered final at this point. The waiting archer must remain safely behind the target line. 12) Arrows must be held with both hands and arrow tips must be covered when walking from the target to the quiver. 13) Archers must sign their card and their lane mate s card prior to leaving the range at the conclusion of the flight. By signing your card, you agree to the scores recorded on it. 14) ALL scorecards will be handed to the lane official at the completion of the flight. 15) Disqualification may occur if an archer takes the scorecard up-range of the 10 meter line to the coach or other unofficial person(s). Scorecards MUST remain at the target face at all times. SECTION 9 - TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL SCORE CALCULATION 1) Summation of the team s highest 12 individual scores, with at least 4 of both genders will comprise the team score. 2) In the event of a tie, the number of 10 s will determine the winner. If there is still a tie, we will go to the number of 9 s, then 8 s etc. until a winner can be established. This accomplished via the scoring software. 3) A tie which cannot be broken by this means will be determined by a tie breaker as described below in Section 10. 4) Tie breakers will be shot after Flight 9. 5) Each archer on a team will also have their score considered for individual awards. Individual awards are decided on an archer s actual grade division which may not correspond with their teams division. EX: A fifth grader is shooting up on a team of 6 th graders. The team is considered a middle school team, but the fifth grade archer as an individual is considered an elementary archer. 6) An archer s score may only be counted toward the team score for a single team. The score will also be used to determine the archer s individual placement. The following two sections address Tie Breakers and the Overall Champions Shootoff. In the event there is a tie in any of the award placings, the tie must be broken. Section 10 addresses this common situation. There Revised10/28/2015 cc Page

12 is also an award for Overall Female and Overall Male archer in the tournament. These awards are in addition to the top division awards and can only be determined by a separate competition. Section 11 addresses this competition. Your patience is appreciated at the end of a long day as we honor our archers. SECTION 10 TIE BREAKERS 1) Ties will be broken. If necessary, a shoot-off will take place prior to the awards ceremony. Archers absent for tie-breaking will be awarded the lower rank. 2) Tied individuals: a) Will shoot a 5-arrow warm-up end at 15 meters b) Then a 5-arrow competitive end at 15 meters. c) If still tied, a single arrow shot from 15 meters. The arrow closest to the middle of the target's center will break the tie. 3) Tied teams a) Will select one male and one female archer from their teams. b) These two archers from each team will shoot a 5-arrow warm-up end at 15 meters. c) Then a 5-arrow scoring end at 15 meters. d) The combined scores of both the boy and girl team members will be compared to break the tie. e) If a tie persists, both the boy and girl from each team will shoot a single arrow at the same target. The arrow closest to the center of the target will win the tie. SECTION 11 - OVERALL CHAMPION SHOOTOFF To showcase the day's top archers and to increase excitement for spectators, an overall champion shoot-off will be conducted at the conclusion of the flight shooting and before the awards presentation. 1) The top 3 scoring boys and girls from each Division will be invited to participate. 2) The format for this shoot-off will be as follows: a) Each student will shoot 1 end of 5 arrows at 15 meters for practice/warm-up. b) Each student will shoot 1 end of 5 arrows at 15 meters for score. c) The highest scoring 3 boys and 3 girls will move to the next round. d) These 6 archers will shoot 1 end of 5 arrows at 15 meters. e) The highest scoring 2 boys and 2 girls will move to the final round. f) These 4 archers will shoot 1 end of 5 arrows at 15 meters. g) The highest scoring boy and girl will be declared Indiana s Over-all Champion male and female archers. 3) The X -ring will be in play throughout these rounds with the number of X s used to break ties. 13 4) In the event the score and the number of X s are identical for any archers in any round, those archers will shoot one arrow each. The arrow closest to the center of the X will be the victor. The following awards will be presented: SECTION 12 - AWARDS 1) First, second, and third place team trophies will be presented to the highest scoring teams in the Elementary, Middle, and High School (9-12) Divisions. 2) Individual awards will be presented to the top five archers in each of the following divisions: a) Elementary female and male (1) Students in 3rd grade who participate according to the rule allowing this (written permission from principal), will be included in the elementary division for individual awards. b) Middle school female and male c) High school female and male 3) Overall female and male 4) A School Sportsmanship Award a) Features of a team winning this award could include: i) Team apparel, Team I.D., and Unity ii) School pride iii) Respect for fellow archers iv) Respect for Range Officials v) Unanimity among team members and coaches for sportsmanship vi) Encouragement of team members and competitors SECTION 13 - CLOSING CEREMONY 1) At the completion of the last flight, all teams will be asked to report to the observation area at the 3 D range for the awards ceremony. 2) Each team will select 2 4 archers and one coach to represent their team in the closing ceremony. 3) Teams leaving the site early will be asked to allow their representatives to remain to represent their team. 4) Each team s representatives will line up in a designated area and march in. Each team may carry a banner or flag representing their school. 5) During team awards, the entire team will be invited to the stage to receive their awards. Revised10/28/2015 cc Page

14 SECTION 14 - DRESS CODE 1) All student archers must wear close-toed shoes. Even if allowed in the school s dress code, bare feet and sandals or flip flops are not allowed and are cause for disqualification. 2) Wearing of team shirts is suggested, but not required. Many teams will adopt a team T shirt or wear a shirt otherwise associated with their school. 3) Acquiring local sponsors for a team shirt is frequently used as a method of both purchasing the team shirt and raising money for registration fees and travel. 4) All participants are prohibited from wearing tank tops, cropped t-shirts, cut-off jeans or shortshorts no exceptions. Keep your school s dress code in mind. 5) Hair and jewelry should not cause safety concerns. 6) Use of personal music playing devices, ear buds & head phones are prohibited on the range. 7) Ear plugs to block distractions are permitted as long as the archer remains able to hear and follow range commands. 8) Each Team may bring/display one banner or sign representing their school. 9) Behavior considered disruptive, unsafe, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate may result in disqualification and or expulsion of the archer, coach, and observers. SECTION 15 - SPORTSMANSHIP 1) Archers, coaches, volunteers, and spectators are expected to respect others. Acts of unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification and or removal from the event. 2) These are a few examples of unsportsmanlike conduct: a) Purposefully disturbing another archer with excessive touching or talking b) Failure to follow lane official direction c) Physical or verbal abuse of any person at the event d) Using disallowed equipment e) Attempts to cheat f) Offensive language or actions MISCELLANEOUS 1) Additional t-shirts, shooters towels, arrow pullers, individual and team pictures and other items will be available for purchase the day of the event. Information will be available at 2) Food will be available at the tournament for purchase through Indiana State Fair Concessions. 3) The State Fairgrounds has a parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle. Arrangements will be made for complimentary bus parking. In addition, two complimentary parking pass per team will be provided for coaching staff driving separately from the team bus. 15 4) An admission fee of $5.00 per spectator 10 years old or older will be charged. Competing archers and 3 coaches per team will be admitted free. All others will be assessed an admission fee. All archers and spectators will enter through the Blue Ribbon Pavilion.
