Flores surpassed USF legends Shantia Grace and Anedra Gilmore as the only USF Bulls to record 15-plus assists in a single game. ANOTHER ONE USF s 16 three-pointers against FIU was the most three-pointers in a single game in USF Program history and is the most of any team in the American Athletic Conference this season. NO MORE THAN 65 USF has only let four teams score more than 65 points in a single game this season and have held eight opponents to 55 or less. The only teams to score more than 65 are Saint Francis U (12/14/16), Long Beach State (12/19/16), Tulsa (1/7/17) and UConn (1/10/17). FERNANDEZ ADDS MORE FLAVOR The Bulls gained another five-star recruit per Passion Hoops and Blue Star Europe, their second five-star athlete in as many years. The Seville, Spain native has been a prominent member of the Spanish National Youth Teams and competed with the U17 team in the FIBA World Championships this past summer. Prieto is a top-75 recruit by Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and ranked No. 20 in her position in the 2017 // 8 READY TO RUN WITH THE BULLS High school senior Vanessa Blagmon and sophomore transfer Alyssa Rader will join the Bulls roster for the season. Blagmon, a 5-8 shooting guard from Norcross, Ga., is ranked No. 30 in her position by HoopGurlz while Pass Report ranks her No. 71 nationally as an overall recruit. Last season, she led her team to a 25-5 record as a junior and was an All-Region 7-AAAAAA honoree. Rader, a 6-2 center from Thornton, Colo., comes to South Florida from Northern Arizona University. As a freshman in , she was the Big Sky Outstanding Freshman and averaged 14.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. TAKING THE POLLS The Bulls were ranked every week last season, peaking at a program best No. 15 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll. USF is in the midst of a 21-week streak in the Top-25, ending the season ranked No. 21/22. FERNANDEZ ON PACE Jose Fernandez, the all-time winningest coach, men or women, in USF basketball history is on pace to reach 300 career wins this season. His all-time record of has spanned 16 seasons and three different conferences. Fernadez led the Bulls to four consecutive 20- plus win seasons, including a program best 27 wins in THE BIG DANCE USF has reached the post season in 12 of the last 13 seasons, including making the program s fourth NCAA Tournament appearance and third in four seasons last year. The 14-player roster is made up of nine international players, the most of any team in NCAA Division I. The Bulls roster features players from eight countries who can speak a combined 15 different languages. Five freshman and one junior transfer will look to make an immediate impact with eight returning letterwinners. THREE-POINT QUEEN Kitija Laksa s 364 points as a freshman last season rank fourth in the USF record books. She was the first freshman since Jessica Dickson ( 07) to score 350-plus points as a freshman and is one of four to achieve the feat. Laksa s 74 three-pointers is a freshman record and also ranks fourth all-time in program history. FERREIRA S FLAIR Junior Laura Ferreira missed six games last season due to injury (foot), but the sharp shooter is back and better than ever. The Lisboa, Portugal native is known for her offensive flair, but has taken a large role in the Bulls defense. Thanks to Ferreria s staunch play, USF has held its opponents to a.381 or lower field goal percentage for the past three seasons. NEW ROLE FOR JESPERSEN Maria Jespersen returns for her junior season as the only returning player to play every game last season. Jespersen garnered 11 starts as a sophomore, but looks to shift into a full-time starting role this season.
