1 District 3 Notes for York & Adams Counties Week One By Bill Engelhardt The YAIAA s Division I Mustangs of South Western defeated the Mid-Penn Capital Division s Warriors of Gettysburg The Mustangs gained 297-yards rushing and 120-yards passing for a total of 417-yards of offense. Junior quarterback Jesse Good completed 6 of 10 passes for the 97-yards, and junior Zach Gross completed 2 of 2 passes for 23-yards. Tommy Nicklas caught 2 passes for 45-yards, Ryan Sexton caught 2 for 33-yards, Mike Pugh caught 1 for 13-yards, Brandon Krise caught 1 for 11-yards, Dillon Langenfeld caught 1 for 10-yards, and Cody Kephart caught 1 for 8-yards for the Mustangs. Mike Felton led the Mustangs rushing attack with his 8 carries for 78-yards (including 4 touchdowns for 8, 34, 26 and 14-yards), followed by Jeff Hacker with 14 for 76-yards, Pugh with 5 for 43-yards (including a 28-yard touchdown), Reid Cruz with 5 for 37-yards, Sexton with 6 for 33-yards, Matt Stroda with 5 for 24-yards (including a 6-yard touchdown), Dillon Langenfeld with 2 for 12-yards, Marty Deal with 1 carry for 2-yards, Carnie Fryfogle with 1 for 2-yards, Jesse Good with 1 for no yards, and Jake Hunt with 1 for minus 10-yards, for the Mustangs. Quarterback Hepler completed 9 of 11 passes for 191-yards and 3 touchdowns; 6 for 190-yards to Brett Campbell (including 3 touchdowns for 74, 14, and 41-yards), 1 for 11-yards to Fox, 1 for minus 4-yards to Toomey, and 1 for minus 6-yards to Chantz Ilgenfritz for the Bulldogs. Campbell also returned a kickoff 91-yards for a touchdown, Blake Shaffer kicked 4 extra points, Jeremy Stauffer and Austin Whitehead each intercepted a pass, and Alex Stough and Cody Harlacker each recorded a sack for the Bulldogs. The YAIAA s Division I Wildcats of Dallastown edged the Lancaster-Lebanon League s Division 1 Warriors of Warwick Adam Lawicki led the Wildcats rushing attack with 67-

Quarterback Luckenbaugh completed 10 of 20 passes for 198-yards and a touchdown; 5 for 112-yards to Kline, 3 for 51-yards to Behrman, 1 for 29-yards and a touchdown to David Naylor, and 1 for 6-yards to Andrew Heird, for the Wildcats. Behrman kicked a 25-yard field goal, Josh Chronister recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown, Bobby Esaiaba recorded a sack, and Luckenbaugh threw a 2-point conversion pass to Kline for the Wildcats. The YAIAA s Division I Rockets of Spring Grove shut out the Mid-Penn s Commonwealth Division Panthers of Central Dauphin East The Rockets rushing attack was led by Josh Slate with 103-yards, Cortlin Dell with 27 (including an 8-yard touchdown), Neal Grudi with 24 (including a 1-yard touchdown), Andrew Walker with 17, and Juwan Frichett with 13-yards. Quarterback Grudi completed 2 of 7 passes for 56-yards to Dell for the Rockets. Ben Reigert kicked 2 extra points, Keith Stambaugh intercepted a pass and Max Ruby recovered a fumble for the Rockets. The Panthers rushing attack was led by Aris Scott with 91-yards, followed by Nate Stazewski with 32, Shiheed Custis with 25, Jordan Reid with 25, Jake Messimer with 4-yards, Shaun Palmer with 1-yard, and T.J. The YAIAA s Division II Warriors of Susquehannock edged the Division III Trojans of York Suburban 9-7 on a 23-yard field goal by Brandon Webster with 49 seconds left in the first half. The second half was scoreless. Justin Onley led the Warriors rushing attack with 82-yards, followed by Toney Fodel with 27, Corey Liss with 22-yards, and Matt Olphin with minus 12- yards (including a 1-yard touchdown plunge). Quarterback Olphin completed 6 of 15 passes for 67-yards; 2 for 27-yards to Thomas Green, 2 for 16-yards to James Weger, 1 for 15-yards to Fodel, and 1 for 9-yards to Austin Sauble, for the Warriors. Matt Owens led the Trojans rushing attack with 66-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown), followed by Dan Perez with 21, Randy Crane with 14, Mike Ibert with 7-yards, and A.J. The YAIAA s Division II Bob Cats of Northeastern were defeated by the Mountain Seven Mountain Indians of Juniata Austin Sneath led the Indians rushing attack with 113-yards (including touchdowns of 11 and 9-yards), followed by Dylan Treaster with 64 (including a 27- yard touchdown), Dakota Zook with 31, Neil Bodley with 30 (including a 3-yard touchdown), Derek Corwell with 13, and Cody Saner with 12-yards. Quarterback Treaster completed 3 of 5 passes for 98-yards, 1 for 55-yards to Sneath and 2 for 43-yards to Colton Shertzer, for the Indians. Matt Vincent led the Rams rushing attack with 110-yards, followed by Shane Solomon with 14, Mike Marsteller with 11, Josh Myers with 3-yards, and Dan Hare with minus 1-yard. Quarterback Myers completed 8 of 14 passes for 82- yards and a touchdown; 2 for 37-yards to Brandon Marshal (including a 19-yard touchdown), 2 for 25-yards to Solomon, 1 for 13-yards to Hare, 1 for 9-yards to Vincent, and 2 for minus 2- yards to Marsteller, for the Rams. Solomon returned an interception 7-yards for a touchdown, Marshal recovered a fumble and returned it 25-yards for a touchdown, and Myers threw a 2-point conversion pass to Marshal, for the Rams. Matthew Lehr led the Fighting Irish rushing attack with 92-yards (including a 1-yard touchdown plunge), followed by Christopher Bohn with 24, Nick Full with 23 (before the star running back left the game with a separated left shoulder), and Adam Sentz with 22-yards. The Lancaster-Lebanon League s Division 3 Crimson Tide of Columbia defeated the YAIAA s Division III Golden Knights of Eastern York Julius Taylor led the Crimson Tide rushing attack with 108-yards (including touchdowns of 25 and 72-yards), followed by Tyler Harrison with 80-yards, Dominic Trout with 50, D. J. Wells with 39 (including a 5-yard touchdown), Johnny Vasguez with 25, and Michael Burke IV with 3-yards. Quarterback Harrison completed 12 of 19 passes for 171-yards and 3 touchdowns; 4 for 54-yards to Seth Lefever (including a 13- yard touchdown), 4 for 53-yards to Burke (including touchdowns of 27 and 9-yards), 2 for 48- yards to Nicholas Nobile, and 1 for 8-yards to Wells for the Crimson Tide. Lefever kicked an

6 extra point for the Crimson Tide and 2 safeties were registered when the Golden Knights quarterback was called for intentional grounding and a punt snap went through the end zone. Mitch Laratonda led the Golden Knights rushing attack with 190-yards (including a 73-yard touchdown), followed by Mark Holloway with 77, and Alex Cooley with 12-yards (including touchdowns of 1 and 3-yards). Quarterback Holloway completed 4 of 10 passes for 49-yards, 3 for 43-yards to Jacob Kautz, and 1 for 6-yards to Taylor Hershey. Eric Moore kicked a 15-yard field goal and 1 extra point, and Holloway passed to Alex Schrift for a 2-point conversion, for the Golden Knights. The YAIAA s Division III Spartans of York County Tech edged the Lancaster-Lebanon League s Division 3 Braves of Pequea Valley in a donnybrook. Second year coach Todd Knisely has the Spartans ready to build on last year s 6-4 record. A failed 2-point conversion attempt was the difference in the game. Marcus Holley led the Spartans with 5 touchdowns on runs of 76, 75, 49, 5 and 5-yards. DeAnte Weldon ran a kickoff back 91 yards for a touchdown. Derek Baum threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to O Connor for the Spartans. Myers threw touchdown passes of 20, 62, 52, and 10-yards to Schmitt, and 38-yards to Tyson for the Braves. Myers also scored a touchdown on a 5-yard run and Schmitt scored a touchdown on a 10-yard run for the Braves. Plank kicked 4 extra points for the Braves. The Mid-Penn Colonial Division s Patriots of Red Land were edged by the Mid-Penn Capital Division s Panthers of East Pennsboro Kelvin White scored on a 1-yard run threw a 16- yard touchdown pass to Brandon Robinson for the Panthers. White also passed to Caleb Dively for a 2-point conversion for the Panthers. Nick Diller led the Patriots rushing attack with 60- yards (including a 6-yard touchdown), followed by Ricky Kraynak with 15, and Spencer Gay with 6-yards. Quarterback Gay completed 8 of 18 passes for 86-yards; 1 for 24-yards to John Ford, 1 for 19-yards to William Wilt, 2 for 18-yards to Jeff Scaramazinno, 2 for 14-yards to Diller, 1 for 9-yards to Devin Howard, and 1 for 2-yards to Kraynak, for the Patriots.
