The team went 8-7 (0-2 MAC) that season, and participated in the 968 NCAA Tournament. Bowling Green and Central Michigan are set to meet for the lone time during the regular season on Saturday afternoon. BGSU holds a 0-36 advantage in the all-time series. The Falcons are -3 all-time versus the Chippewas under head coach Michael Huger. The one win was a memorable 62-9 victory in the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals on March 0, 206. Then freshman Antwon Lillard scored a career-high 26 points in the contest. Bowling Green has won three of its last four conference games after dropping the MAC opener. On the other hand, Central Michigan won its MAC opener, but has since lost four-straight ballgames. The Falcons are -3 at the Stroh Center in 207-8, while CMU is - in road games on the season. Junior forward Demajeo Wiggins has posted a double-double in a career best four-consecutive games. Coming off a 22-point, -rebound, five-assist effort at Miami, Wiggins is averaging 7.6 points and.6 rebounds in MAC play. CENTRAL MICHIGAN HUGER S THOUGHTS ON CENTRAL MICHIGAN We have been preaching defense for quite some time, and I was proud of the way our guys defended against Miami. Next up is a sharp-shooting Central Michigan squad. This game is important for us as we look to honor our 968 NCAA Tournament team. Every game has a different story, but the one constant is our defensive focus and intensity. We will need another great effort on Saturday afternoon. SCOUTING THE CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWAS Central Michigan went a MAC-best -2 in non-conference play. However, after beating Ohio in the MAC opener, the Chippewas have lost four-straight games. Keno Davis is in his 0th year as CMU s head coach. Davis is with the Chippewas. The Chippewas make 6.0 free throws per game, and rank second in the country with an 80.7 free throw percentage. CMU plays a lot of zone on defense, while still shooting a ton of three-point shots on offense. As far as shot selection, 7.0 percent of CMU s field goal attempts come from beyond the arc. Central Michigan is - in road games in The Chippewas are averaging 3.3 assists, and 2. turnovers this season. Central Michigan, somewhat incredibly, has started the same five players (see below) in every game this season. 7 PAGE 7 BGSU BY THE NUMBERS Dylan Frye hit a three-pointer with 0.9 seconds left to beat Florida Gulf Coast, 83-80, on Nov. 8. Justin Turner is the first BG player to have point games in a single season since Martin Samarco (200-06). Matt Fox posted a career-best four assists in the overtime win at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 6. Bowling Green is -0 in overtime games under head coach Michael Huger. THE MAC CHAMPIONS COME BACK TO BGSU Players and staff members from the BGSU MAC Championship team are set to return to town for this Saturday s (Jan. 20) game versus Central Michigan. Along with honoring the team at halftime, many pre-game and in-game elements will center around the team and their successes. The squad finished the season with an 8-7 record, including a 0-2 mark in conference play. The team was the last BGSU men s team to compete in the NCAA Tournament. Bowling Green dropped a 72-7 contest to Marquette University in the first round of the 968 NCAA Tournament. The game, which was part of the Mideast Region, took place on March 9, 968. The Falcons were led by head coach Bill Fitch, his lone season on the BGSU bench, as Fitch would depart for the University of Minnesota after the season. He went on to a 2-year NBA career. Walt Piatkowski was the team s statistical standout, as he averaged a team-high 2.0 points, to go along with 7.3 rebounds. Among other contributors, Al Hairston ranked second on the team in scoring (. PPG), while Al Dixon averaged a double-double at.8 points and 0.9 rebounds per game Demajeo Wiggins has posted seven doubledoubles in 207-8, surpassing his total of six from last season. With the Falcons win over NIU on Jan. 9, BGSU has now defeated 0 MAC schools under head coach Michael Huger. BGSU held Northern Illinois to 9 points in the first half on Jan. 9, marking the fewest points BGSU has allowed in a half this season. BG shot a season-high 3 free throws at Akron (Jan. 3), marking the first time that BG has shot 0+ free throws since Dec. 30, 206. This season marks the 0th anniversary of the BGSU team that appeared in the NCAA Tournament. Bowling Green scored points in the second half in its win at Miami (Jan. 6) the most points BG has scored in a half this season. Bowling Green shot a season-high 60.0 percent at Miami on Jan. 6. BG s 09 points vs. Lake Erie (Nov. 20) were the most since BGSU scored 2 in a 2-7 win over Wilmington (Ohio) on Dec. 2, The 2 combined points in BG s win over Lake Erie (Nov. 20) were the most scored since a 36-9 BGSU win over Siena on Dec., 989. As a program, Bowling Green has recorded 06 MAC wins. Bowling Green has,362 all-time wins as a program. NOTES FROM ANOTHER ROAD VICTORY Bowling Green picked up an 8-70 win in Oxford over the RedHawks on Tuesday (Jan. 6) night, avenging a loss at the hands of MU in the conference opener on Jan. 2. The win, which was BGSU s first over a MAC East school this season, pushed the Falcons MAC-best road record to 6-2 in Bowling Green, despite trailing in the all-time series by an 83-7 margin, is now -2 versus the RedHawks under head coach Michael Huger. The Falcons have a minimum of more games to play this season, and following the victory, BGSU needs just one more win to match last season s win total (3-9). Bowling Green shot a season-high 60.0 percent (27-of-) from the field, surpassing a 8.6 percent mark, which was set during a Dec. 28 win over Lourdes. Bowling Green assisted 9 of its 27 made field goals. BUCKLING DOWN DURING BUSINESS TRIPS The Falcons are 6-2 in true road games in No other MAC school has more than five true road wins, while Buffalo (-2) is the only other school in the conference that is multiple games above.00 on the road. BGSU has already doubled its road win total from a season ago. In 206-7, BG went 3-2. With the program s win at Norfolk State on Dec. 2, Bowling Green improved to 3-0 on the season in true road games. Prior to this season, the Falcons were than last BG team to win its first three true road games. By defeating Drexel to open the season, Bowling Green started a season -0 with a true road win for just the fourth time since The Falcons have won more than half of their games in away from the Stroh Center, as Bowling Green is 7-3 in such games. That record includes a - mark in neutral site contests. TEN SCHOOLS DOWN ONE MORE TO GO With BGSU s win over Northern Illinois on Jan. 9, the Falcons have now defeated 0 different MAC schools under head coach Michael Huger. Buffalo is the lone squad that Huger has not defeated. Heading into the game, the Orange and Brown were 0-2 versus Northern Illinois under Huger, having lost the lone matchup to the Huskies during the 20-6 and seasons. Last season, Huger earned his first wins over Akron, Ball State, and Toledo. Additionally, under Huger, BG has defeated five MAC schools (Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami, and Ohio) at least two times.

8 PAGE 8 OFFENSIVE OVERHAUL After ranking 0th (206-7) and th (20-6) in scoring offense over the past two years, BGSU is averaging 80. points per game, which ranks third in the MAC and 7th in the nation.
