The Aggies lead the series by a 10-2 count, including an 8-1 margin in games played at Logan. The last two meetings have been closely played contest as ISU came away with a victory in the 2000 season finale and USU rallied from a 27-0 deficit by scoring 28 points in the final 21 minutes to post a victory here last year. The first meeting between these two neighboring schools was back in 1919, when Utah State posted its biggest score in school history en route to a victory. Utah State is all-time against current members of the Big Sky Conference, while Mick Dennehy, who was a head coach in that conference for four seasons ( ) at Montana, owns a 27-5 mark against member schools. He is 5-1 all-time against the Bengals with a 4-0 mark while at Montana and a 1-1 mark since coming to Utah State. In all USU is against the three major schools in the state of Idaho with a mark against Idaho, 4-6 record against Boise State and a 10-2 slate against Idaho State. USU will meet Boise State at Boise on Sept. 28. USU-ISU LAST TIME -- Utah State had to post one of the biggest comebacks in NCAA history to defeat Idaho State as the Aggies rallied from a 27-0 halftime deficit to get the victory. USU did not get on the scoreboard until the six-minute mark of the third quarter and then erupted for 28 points in the final 21 minutes of the game. Emmett White scored the game's final three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 4:47 left. The USU defense limited Idaho State to just 117 yards of offense in the second half, while USU, which had 163 first-half yards, recorded 215 yards and four scores in the second half. White rushed for 151 yards, while Kevin Curtis caught six passes for 107 yards and USU's first touchdown. USU-ISU IN One week after losing what was basically the Big West Conference championship game at Boise State, the Aggies finished their season on a sour note falling against Idaho State on a soggy Romney Stadium field. USU managed just 51 yards rushing and 260 yards of total offense, while ISU rushed for 262 yards and threw for 180 more. USU led after three quarters of play, but 17 straight points by the Bengals gave ISU a lead with 1:42 left in the game. USU scored a touchdown to pull with with :52 left, but it was too little too late. Both teams turned the ball over three times, but ISU controlled the clock with a time possession advantage of 40:12 to 19:48. The only current Aggies with offensive statistics in that game include QB Jose Fuentes (15 of 36 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns, TE Casey Poppinga (two receptions for 24 yards) and David Fiefia two receptions for 21 yards). AGGIES FROM IDAHO -- Utah State has only three players on its roster from the state of Idaho in Matt Ferguson (Boise), Jim Spoklie (Pocatello), and Malik Cin (Richfield via Germany). DENNEHY'S BIG SKY SUCCESS -- While serving as head coach Mick Dennehy's Montana teams were the dominant force in the Big Sky Conference from The Grizzlies won three league titles and finished second in his four years, putting together a 27-5 conference record.
