Bulldog Bites With the win over Air Force on Jan. 23, Fresno State head coach Jaime White earned her 150th victory as a Division I head coach. Fresno State is seeking its eighth-straight conference win, which would be its longest winning streak since the team won 13 straight last season. Eight consecutive wins to start the conference season would be one shy of last season s mark of nine. The Dogs are one of two remaining undefeated teams in Mountain West play along with Colorado State. Fresno State has a half-game lead at 7-0. Fresno State was picked fourth in the MW preseason poll, and has wins over teams that were picked second (New Mexico), third (Boise State), fifth (UNLV), sixth (San Diego State). All 11 of the Dogs wins have come when holding teams to below 60 points in regulation. Only New Mexico scored more than 60 points, but it came in double overtime. Sophomore center Bego Faz Davalos ranks in the top 15 in the Mountain West in overall games in scoring (12th, 12.6 ppg) rebounding (first, 10.1 rpg), field goal percentage (fourth,.519), assists (13th, 2.8 apg), blocked shots (first, 3.6 bpg), assist/ turnover ratio (sixth, 1.3), offensive rebounds (first, 3.6 rpg) and defensive rebounds (first, 6.5 rpg). Two Dogs are averaging double-digits through 18 games (Shauqunna Collins and Bego Faz Davalos). Fresno State had just one player average double figures last year (Alex Sheedy). Faz Davalos leads the team in both points (12.6) and rebounds (10.1) to go along with 3.6 blocks per game. Recent Results Versus Air Force on Jan. 23, Fresno State earned its first win of the season by more than eight points since Dec. 8. It was the Bulldogs fifth consecutive win over the Falcons with a margin of victory of 20 points or more. Like the previous two home games against San Diego State which were decided by an average of four points, this year s contest was a close affair as well, with the Dogs winning Bego Faz Davalos iced the game with just seconds remaining with a pair of free throw line as she finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds. On Jan. 16, the Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak at the Event Center in San Jose, defeating the Spartans as Toni Smith led the Dogs with 19 points. In its only matchup of the conference season, Fresno State recorded its thirdlargest comeback win in the last decade, rallying from 15 down with just over 27 minutes to play to defat Boise State Despite holding a 16-point lead late in the fourth-quarter at Nevada on Jan. 6, the Wolf Pack stormed back, cutting its deficit to three, but the Bulldogs held on for a victory as Toni Smith had 16 points and nine rebounds and Bego Faz Davalos added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. On Jan 2., Fresno State earned just its third-ever win in Albuquerque, N.M., with a double-overtime victory over the Lobos. Despite scoring 13 combined points in the second and fourth quarters, the Dogs held New Mexico to 29.5 percent shooting from the field and Moriah Faulk recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nine of Faulk s points and three of her rebounds came in the final six minutes of overtime. The Bulldogs opened Mountain West play with a win over UNLV after forcing the Lady Rebels into 20 turnovers. Game #19 at Wyoming January 27, 2016

The Bulldogs are 1-8 all-time in Laramie, Wyo., after earning their first win last season in a thriller. Fresno State has won four consecutive games in the series. A Look at Wyoming The Cowgirls enter Wednesday s contest with a 10-8 record after dropping four of their last five games. Wyoming is 7-3 overall at home this season, but are just 2-2 in Laramie in conference play. The Cowgirls are led by MW Preseason Player of the Year Marquelle Dent who ranks third in the MW in scoring (18.2), first in assists (5.6), fourth in steals (2.2) and second in assist/turnover ratio (1.5). Marta Gomez is second on the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game. The freshman ranks fifth in the conference in 3-point percentage (.375), fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.3), while attempting 6.2 per contest. Increased Efficiency From Deep Since the start of conference, Fresno State s 3-point shooters have suddenly found their stroke from outside. In MW-games only, the Dogs are second in the league in 3-point shooting at 32.6 percent compared to just 29.6 percent during nonconference games. In MW games, two Bulldogs rank in the top 15 in 3-point percentage: Alex Furr (10th,.348) and Moriah Faulk (12th,.333). Not for the Faint of Heart Although the Dogs have started Mountain West play with six consecutive wins, it wasn t easy. The six games were decided by eight points or less with five of those at five points or less. Each game was not been decided until the final minutes, if not the final minute. Within the final two minutes, the Dogs shot 20-of-33 (60.6 percent) from the free throw line. Next Player Up With the announcement on Jan. 20 that junior forward Kendra Martin will miss the remainder of the season with a right knee injury, Fresno State will need to fill her void as the third player off the bench. After a breakout game with eight rebounds at New Mexico on Jan. 2, Martin was averaging 2.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 12 minutes per game between Jan prior to the injury. Lockdown Since MW play started, Fresno State has locked down on defense, ranking in the top four in the conference in MW games in scoring defense (third, 54.9 ppg), field goal percentage defense (third,.355) and 3-point percentage defense (fourth,.259). In non-conference games, Fresno State allowed teams to score 65.6 points per game, and shoot 39.5 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three. As of Jan. 17, Fresno State s non-conference strength of schedule ranked No. 14, while its overall strength of schedule was No. 59. The team s seven losses came to teams who hold an average RPI of 60. Leading From the Block After leading Mexico at the World University Games during the summer, 6-foot- 3 Bego Faz Davalos has quickly become Fresno State s most versatile player. She ranks first on the team in points (12.6), rebounds (10.1), blocks (3.6) and field goal percentage (51.9). She has recorded nine double-doubles in 18 games which ranks 25th nationally. With a career-high 10 blocks versus Cal State Stanislaus, Faz Davalos moved to third in career blocks at Fresno State. Her 65 blocks and 3.6 blocks per game this season rank third nationally. In the MW, she ranks in the top 15 in scoring (12th), rebounding (first), field goal percentage (fourth), assists (13th), blocks (first), assist/turnover ratio (sixth), offensive rebounds (first) and defensive rebounds (first). Bego Blocks Through 18 games, Bego Faz Davalos blocked 65 shots and is on pace to surpass her total from the season. Her 96 blocks last season was the fifth best single-season season total in Bulldog history. Faz Davalos is third in school history in career blocks with 161. Last season, her 70 blocks in conference games broke the MW record for most blocks in a single season for conference games only. The previous mark was 52. She finished the season nine blocks shy of tying the MW record for most blocks in a season of 105 which was set by New Mexico s Jordan Adams during the season. Double Down The Dogs have posted 14 double-doubles through 18 games. In each of the past two seasons, the team has recorded just 12 in each season. This century, the most double-doubles in a season for a Fresno State team is 18. During that span, Omelogo Udeze recorded the most in a season at 13. In her career she posted 30 double-doubles. Bego Faz Davalos is looking to surpass Udeze s single-season mark as she has posted nine double-doubles so far. Ending San Jose Curse After dropping the last three games in San Jose, Calif., to the Spartans, the Bulldogs ended the curse of the Event Center on Jan. 16 with a win. Down seven midway through the second quarter, Fresno State won its second game of the season while trailing at the half. 16 and and 11 have proved to be lucky numbers for senior forward Moriah Faulk as all three of her double-doubles this season have come with identical numbers of 16 points and 11 rebounds. 6 Game #19 at Wyoming January 27, 2016

7 Thriller in The Pit On Jan. 2, Fresno State won its first double overtime game since Feb. 10, 1993 when it defeated Sacramento State This year s double-overtime victory was a much more defensive game that resulted in a game at New Mexico in only the program s third ever win at The Pit. 12-Straight With a win over UNLV on Dec. 30, Fresno State has won 12-straight conference openers, a streak that dates back to the season with a win at Hawai i. The program s last loss in a conference opener came in a twopoint game at home to Hawai i (48-46) on Jan. 3, With a double-overtime win on Jan. 2 at New Mexico, Fresno State extended its road conference opener to 12 games. The Bulldogs last loss in their first conference road game of a season came on Jan. 8, 2005 at SMU (67-62). Thriving Off the Bench With only four double-figure scoring games during the season, Moriah Faulk has posted eight double-digit performances, scoring 16 points on four occasions along with a season-high 24 against CSUS. The senior has also posted three double-figure rebounding games after only recording five in her career prior to this season. Faulk has recorded three of her six career double-doubles this season. On Dec. 5 at Cal Poly, Faulk made just her sixth collegiate start, and first since her sophomore season season. Faulk is seventh in minutes played for Fresno State at 20.9 minutes per game. She has also been the Dogs top threat from beyond the arc at 40.3 percent (25-of-62) which ranks third in the MW. Point of Attack After a year in Fresno, Shauqunna Collins has been one of the Bulldogs top threats through 18 games. With 10 doublefigure scoring games last season, Collins has reached doubledigits in 11 of her 16 games this season. The native of Saginaw, Mich., also leads the team in steals (29) and assists (46) at the point guard position. Freshman Impact Breanne Knishka has been a key player from the get-go for the Dogs, whether it has been dishing assists, coming up with steals, 3-pointers or as a defensive stopper. The Dryden, Wash., native has started all 18 games this season and is second on the team in minutes per game at Through 18 games, she is second on the team in 3-pointers made with 21. She has the highest assist/turnover ratio (1.7) on the team of those who play more than 20 minutes per game. Her 13 points against Washington was her first career double-digit game. She is the first true freshman for the Dogs to record double-digits in a game since Jacinta Vandenberg during the season. Knishka matched that high with 13 points at Cal Poly when she knocked down three 3-pointers. In a five-point win over San Diego State on Jan. 20, she dished a season-high six assists. Against Air Force on Jan. 23, Knishka posted a season high of 15 points as she went 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Breaking Down the Triple-Double On Dec. 8, sophomore Bego Faz Davalos recorded the program s first triple-double with 24 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocks. It was the 11th triple-double in Mountain West history, and the first using blocks. Faz Davalos was the eighth player in Division I to post a triple-double this season. She is the second to post a triple-double this season with blocks. She recorded her triple-double in 29 minutes which is tied this for the shortest amount of time played in a game this season while posting triple double. Since 1986, there have been 407 triple-doubles all-time prior to the season, with 60 using a combination of points, rebounds and blocks. The averages of those triple-doubles is 18.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 10.3 blocks. She was the sixth player to record a triple-double on Dec. 8 (2001, 2009, 2010, 2012 (2), 2015). California Love Fresno State ranks second in the state in total attendance (23,151) and average attendance (2,315). Rare at Home With back-to-back home losses to Washington and No. 24 George Washington, it marked only the second time in the last decade that the Bulldogs have lost back-to-back home games. The last time it happened was in 2013 against San Francisco and No. 4 Stanford. Opening Up Against the State of California Dating back to the season, Fresno State is 8-4 when opening up the season against teams in the state of California. Three of the four losses have come against current Pac-12 schools (Cal, Stanford, USC), two of which were ranked in the Top 25 at the fresnostwbb #GoDogs 7

Dogs One of California s Best The Fresno State women s basketball team remains one of the top Division I programs in the state of California after eight consecutive 22-win seasons. In the last six years, the Bulldogs have amassed 149 wins which ranks second out of the 24 schools in California. Over the last six years, Fresno State (149) has more victories than Pac-12 schools like California (145), UCLA (125) and USC (109). The Bulldogs six-year win total is only behind Stanford s 196 among California schools. Entering Jaime White enters her second season at the helm of the Bulldog program. The 10th head coach in program history, White led the Dogs to her record in her first year. It was the Bulldogs seventh straight 20-plus win season. White is joined by assistant coaches Mandi Carver, Keith Ferguson and Laura Dinkins, along with director of operations Tom Perkins and graduate assistant Erik DeRoo. The Bulldogs will be seeking their ninth consecutive postseason appearance this year after reaching the Women s National Invitational Tournament last spring. Their win on March 19, 2015 over San Francisco in the first round of the WNIT was Fresno State s first postseason win over a non-conference team since Fresno State will host 15 games during the season. During the last five seasons, the Dogs have lost only eight games in front of their home crowd. The Bulldogs will play its first 10 games of the year in the state of California. They posted a 16-4 record last year in their home state. Under White, defense was the team s staple as Fresno State finished the season as the only team in the Mountain West to rank in the top two in scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, 3-point percentage defense, blocks and steals. Fresno State returns seven letterwinners from the squad. Joining a group of five seniors this year will be seven newcomers. Captaining the Dogs will be seniors Alex Furr and Toni Smith. Fresno State (1-3) was led by the Santa Monica, Calif., native who matched her numbers from the three days earlier against Washington, tying her season-high with 16 points connecting on 6-of-14 from the field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc while corralling 11 rebounds. Senior guard Shauqunna Collins continued her hot start to the season with her fourth double-figure scoring game, finishing with 14 points while matching career-bests in rebounds (7) and steals (5). Sophomore center Bego Faz Davalos chipped in eight points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals. George Washington (3-1) was led by a double-double from Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year Jonquel Jones with 13 points and 13 rebounds along with four blocks, three steals and three assists. The Bulldogs kept the hot offense going through the end of the first quarter taking a lead, the third straight game that the Bulldogs have led after the first frame. With the `Dogs committing four straight turnovers to start the second quarter, and Collins picking up her second foul less than two minutes into the quarter, Fresno State was able hold off the Colonials taking a lead, capped by a Brittany Aikens layup, with 4:51 to play in first half. Unfortunately, the `Dogs went cold from field from there, finishing the half 0-of-8 as George Washington went on a 12-0 run to take a five-point lead into halftime. The Bulldogs fell behind by seven points early in the third quarter before a Faulk trey brought them back within four, but again they fell behind by seven before another triple from Faulk brought them within four before GW extended it back to a sevenpoint cushion heading into the final 10 minutes. Game #16 Game 17 - Fresno State 54, San Diego State 49 Jan. 20, 2016/Save Mart Center FRESNO, Calif. - Despite being her lone field goal of the evening, freshman forward Breanne Knishka came through in the clutch nailing the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:11 remaining to keep Fresno State unbeaten in Mountain West play as the Bulldogs topped San Diego State on Wednesday evening at the Save Mart Center. Notching her eighth double-double of the season, sophomore center Bego Faz Davalos led Fresno State (10-7, 6-0 MW) with 15 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Senior forward Toni Smith posted her fifth consecutive double-figure scoring game scoring 14 points as she went 5-of-7 from the field and knocked down all four of her free throw attempts. San Diego State (6-11, 1-5 MW) was led with three players in double figures as the duo of Aleiah Brandon and Ahjalee Harvey each scored 11 points and McKynzie Fort added 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. The `Dogs jumped to an early 8-2 lead thanks to backto-back 3-pointers from Shauqunna Collins and Alex Furr, but the visiting Aztecs quickly answered back with eight straight points of their own to re-gain a 10-8 lead. A Collins layup tied the game at 10 apiece and the score remained tied at 15 at the end of the first quarter. After a layup from Smith in the early going of the second quarter tied the action at 17, a quick 7-0 run by the Aztecs pulled the visitors in front, 24-17, as SDSU took a four-point lead into halftime. Smith led the `Dogs with 10 first-half points. With the Bulldogs only 3-4 on the season when trailing at halftime, the `Dogs outscored SDSU 15-8 in the third quarter, including a 9-0 run to end the frame, to take a lead into the final quarter. Fresno State connected on 46.2 percent from the field in the frame compared to the Aztecs 27.3 percent and held the visitors scoreless over the final 3:35 of the quarter. After three straight 3-pointers from the Aztecs Harvey, including the last which gave SDSU a lead with 2:16 to play. The Aztecs forced a turnover on the Bulldogs next possession, but a turnover by Fort gave the ball back to the `Dogs and Knishka buried her only shot of the game to put Fresno State up for good. 19 Game 18 - Fresno State 70, Air Force 46 Jan. 23, 2016/Save Mart Center FRESNO, Calif. - With the help of a fast start offensively and sound defense, Fresno State rolled to its seventhstraight Mountain West win defeating Air Force on Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center. Fresno State (11-7, 7-0 MW) had four players finish in double figures as Breanne Knishka led the way with a season-high 15 points. The freshman forward hit three 3-pointers and knocked down all four of her free throws. Bego Faz Davalos notched her ninth double-double of the season, posting 12 points and 11 rebounds. Toni Smith chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds and Brittany Aikens added 10 points in her second start of the season. Air Force (0-18, 0-7 MW) was led in scoring by the pair of Taylor Parker and Cortney Porter as the duo had 11 points apiece. After the teams split the first four points of the game, a 12-0 run for the Bulldogs gave Fresno State all the jumpstart they needed offensively as they quickly blew past the Falcons. The run was ignited by a layup from Knishka and saw four straight field goals from four different `Dogs. After a layup from Air Force s Myah Jackson briefly stopped the run, the Bulldogs ended the half on a 9-1 run to take a 25-7 lead after the first quarter. After holding the Falcons to only two field goals in the opening quarter, Fresno State continued to make life difficult for Air Force in the second quarter. Holding the Falcons to four field goals in the frame, Fresno State continued to nurse a 16-point lead with 5:03 to play before ending the half on a 8-0 run to take a commanding lead into halftime. The Dogs shot 50 percent from the field in the first half while holding the Falcons to 30.2 percent from the field. Refusing to go away, Air Force started the second half on a 9-0 run to pull within The Bulldogs started cold from the field in the second half missing their first eight field goals before finally breaking through with a jumper from Faz Davalos with 3:45 to play in the third quarter. That would be as close as Air Force would get the remainder of the game as the Dogs ended the quarter on a 10-5 run and took a 20-point lead into the final quarter to cruise to their largest Mountain West victory since March 7, Game #18 Official Basketball Box Score -- Game Totals -- Final Statistics Air Force vs Fresno State 1/23/16 2:05 p.m. at Fresno, Calif.
