2 SPORTANZO ŠPORT IN MARKETING, d.o.o Matej Avanzo CEO Walter Jeklin Sports director, adviser, partner Anže Blažič Communications and events director, partner Matej Avanzo is a former senior basketball national team director with the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, one of the main organisers of the men s European Basketball Championship U and 2012 and EuroBasket 2013 and a director of Gorenje Velenje Handball Club, a council member of the Sports Foundation and the FIBA Europe Competition commission. Despite his youth, he has rich experience in marketing, communications and organisation and is able to persuade people, even those who prefer everything to stay the same as last year to take new and innovative approaches. He is a man of words and action, with a head for novelties and craziness and an organisational guru with a good sense of reliable decision making. Walter Jeklin is a former Slovenian basketball national team player, sports director of Slovenia and Poland s senior men s national team and president of Polonia 2011 Basket Ball Club, former director of Zielona Gora Basketball Club, the Polish champions playing in the elite ULEB Euroleage in 2015/16 and currently working as the director of Sixt Primorska Basketball Club. With his prudence and caution, Walter brings stability and responsibility, and with his great experience in basketball as a player and official, always comes up with good solutions. For him, organising sports teams is a piece of cake, and they are still looking for the right word in the dictionaries Slovenian and Polish for his great knowledge of sports. Anže Blažič is a former sports journalist, a public relations manager at the Basketball Federation of Slovenia and communications director of the Men s European basketball Championship U and EuroBasket In his work so far, he has made an impression managing communications in sports and the development of social media, together with the organisation of high-quality events. With his youthful madness he loves to organise ad hoc actions and seek creative solutions for out-of-the-box communication. As a man of action, it is not difficult for him to work all night for clients and persuade them with ideas and reasoning at each step in planning a quality partnership. 5 KRANJSKA GORA Kranjska Gora is a cosmopolitain Alpine village and one of the best sports practice camps. With natural environment at 800 meters of altitude it offers good climate over the whole year with traditional mountain homelines and athletic dynamism. 7 MARIBOR Maribor is the second-largest city in Slovenia, known in sports especially because of football club Maribor and skiing event Zlata lisica. It is pleasantly small with big diversity and quality offers and set in the wonderful natural surroundings of Pohorje on the one side and wine growing hills on the other, with the river Drava wending its way through it. 8 PODCETRTEK Podcetrtek is a town and a municipality in eastern Slovenia, one and a half hour drive from the capital Ljubljana with the population of inhabitants, mostly directed to tourism with Terme Olimia as its most important economic activity. It is known as a peaceful place, appropriate for holidays and good sports preparations with a great number of leisure activities just few meters from the hotel complex. 9 PORTOROZ Portoroz is a modern coastal city which has been a tourist destination from the 13 th century, when it developed a niche as a health resort, and towards the end of the 19 th century it became widely known for the healing properties of its mud and salt water baths. 10 ROGASKA SLATINA Rogaska Slatina is a city and a municipality in eastern Slovenia, known for its curative mineral water, spa and crystal glass. The municipality has rich sport infrastructure for different sports activities, good nature and a lot of possibilities for a good quiet preparation period. Grand hotel Sava Grand Hotel Sava is offering rooms with TV, wi-fi, balcony and gorgeous view of the magnificent park and calming forest landscape. Hotel owns a great welness centre and is known for outstandind cuisine with luxuries, but healthy ingenious, special designed for carefree gourmets. Rogaska GYMS Sport park Rogatec with the new gym built in 2009 is located 10 minutes from the hotel with bus and offers great service for best teams with big and small hall for different activities, air condition and showers. 11 ROGLA Rogla is located on Pohorje hill at an altitude of meters making it a natural-climatic resort and also recreation center with good sports facilities. It has been a famous sports destination for many years which hosted many world s best teams. Sports hall Rogla Spacious sports hall is part of the hotel complex and has also a well-equipped fitness center. Since its opening it has hosted many great teams from all over the world and good preparation games. Hotel Planja Hotel is an excellent choice for an active break, practice camp or relaxation. 12 TERME CATEZ Terme Catez is a hotel & spa complex in south-east of Slovenia, close to the border of Croatia. It is synonymous with excellent tourism options and rich entertainment programmes. Brezice GYM Brezice gym is a newly built modern gym with great functionality. Since 2012 it has been a place for preparations of many Slovene and foreign club and national teams and has hosted several sports competitions. 15 EXPERIENCES JIANJUN WANG, coach, men s U17 national team of China: In Kranjska Gora we played three games with the Slovenian team. There were good games, and we got a lot of positive things out of them. We also completed quite a few successful trainings. The hotel and the gyms in Kranjska Gora are very good, so I can say that we were very satisfied with our training camp. JIANXIN LI, coach, women s U17 national team of China: Our training camp in Kranjska Gora was successful, and we trained well, which was made possible by the very good infrastructure available to us. We played three games with Slovenia, and put on some great performances. LI CHANGSHAN, team managaer, basketball club Jiangsu Dragons: I really liked all of the places we visited. The training conditions were perfect. All of the hotels were good, also the staff was nice and ready to help us. The surroundings and the environment is really nice. Also, the food was very good. Opponents were strong teams and were suitable for us to play against, because we were able to learn something new and to see the style of basketball they play in Europe. We also liked bus transfers, because the drivers were always on time and did the smooth driving. Personally I have been returning to Kranjska Gora for ten years and this year we once again had excellent work conditions. A lot of teams come to Slovenia for practice camps, and that means we get to play a lot of good games. Because of Slovenia s size we did not even have to travel much to do this which is always a plus. I would like to thank Sportanzo, as they made sure our stay here was very nice and made sure we could focus solely on training and basketball. Everything is also related to the weather. The objective of the training camp was not just to get the team physically prepared and learn the tactical ideas, but also for all of us to get to know one another and hang out. I believe we created a good foundation for the future; a good atmosphere, a good climate, and what is most important, we managed to conclude the training camp in Slovenia with no injuries.
