It was very eye-opening to see how much need there really is, and how they re lacking so many things materialistically. But emotionally and mentally, it was one of the most joyful communities.

Going there and seeing it gave me an entirely different perspective just because they don t have much at all.

Through the sports programs and facilities, children will have access to educational tutoring, provided meals and vitamins to support nutrition, and have a safe place with power and internet to study

During the weekendlong mission, Wentz embraced a whole new culture while sharing his faith, playing with kids and helping paint homes in the community. It was one of the most joyful things I ve seen. I think the biggest thing I learned about myself was life isn t all about stuff. In September 2017, the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation granted funds to Mission of Hope to help build a multi-purpose sports complex and education center on its campus. Through the sports programs and facilities, children will have access to educational tutoring, provided meals and vitamins to support nutrition, and have a safe place with power and internet to study when they are not in the classroom. NFLPA COMMUNITY MVP Wentz received NFLPA Community MVP honors for Week 3 of 2017 after he donated $120,000 to Canine Partners for Life to secure specially trained service dogs for people with disabilities. The funding will help cover the costs necessary to raise, train and place more CPL service dogs around Philadelphia. CARSON WENTZ AO1 FOUNDATION In July 2017, Wentz launched the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation, a nonprofit with a mission to demonstrate the love of God by providing opportunities and support for the less fortunate and those in need. The foundation focuses on three main objectives that reflect some of Wentz s deepest passions in life - his faith, his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his avid love for dogs. Service dogs: To support youth in the Philadelphia area by providing service dogs to assist with their development and quality of life Hunting and outdoor opportunities: To provide hunting and outdoor opportunities for individuals with physical challenges, the underserved and military veterans living in the Midwest Underprivileged youth: To care for and provide food, shelter and educational opportunities for underprivileged youth living abroad AO1 stands for Audience of One, which is a motto that helps shape Wentz s life. AO1foundation.org. MAN S BEST FRIEND Wentz has been a dog lover ever since getting his golden retriever, Henley, when he was in college at North Dakota State. Henley gave birth to eight puppies in November Nine golden retrievers lived in Wentz s home for more than a month before he gave seven away to family and friends. Wentz kept one puppy and named him Jersey. I love dogs and being around them and getting to work with Jersey and train him to hopefully be a really good hunting dog. It s a fun process getting away from everything else going on in life and just getting to spend time with them. THE GUNSLINGER Even though he grew up a Vikings fan, Wentz idolized Packers legend Brett Favre. In 2016, Wentz was a guest on Favre s SiriusXM radio show, but he is still waiting for the opportunity to meet his favorite player. I loved watching Favre play. I loved his gunslinger mentality and just the way he had fun. He was fun to watch and he played the game and enjoyed it. I think he played it the right way.
