Schlichter was from 1978 through Barrett has completed touchdown passes to eight different receivers this season. J.K. Dobbins is 149 yards from breaking Maurice Clarett s record of 1,237 yards rushing by an Ohio State freshman. The Buckeyes offense has totaled 500 or more yards of total yards in eight of the last nine games. In 113 previous matchups, only one Ohio State-Michigan game has ever gone to overtime: last year s thriller in front of a record crowd of 110,045 at Ohio Stadium. Saturday will be Ohio State s 700th game as a member of the Big Ten Conference. In their 105th season, the Buckeyes own the league s best all-time winning percentage at.736 ( ). SCOUTING MICHIGAN Prior to last Saturday s setback at No. 5 Wisconsin, Michigan had won three games in a row and currently stands at 8-3 overall. The Wolverines own wins over Florida, Cincinnati, Air Force, Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers, Minnesota and Maryland. Michigan has played three quarterbacks this year, as last year s starter Wilton Speight started the first four games before leaving with an injury vs. Purdue. Fifth-year senior John O Korn and sophomore Brandon Peters has also seen extensive action as well. Peters (37-for-64, 486 yards) has thrown a team-best four TD passes while O Korn (66-for-124, 761 yards, one TD, five INT) has played in the most games (eight). The running back position has been handled by the tandem of Karan Higson (136 attempts, 874 yards, 10 TD) and Chris Evans (115 attempts, 594 yards, six TD). Tight End Sean McKeon had a team-best 27 receptions for 279 yards and two TD. The Wolverines defense ranks No. 3 nationally and No. 1 against the pass. The unit is led by sophomore LB Devin Bush, who has 87 tackles, DEFENSIVE LINE Coach Larry Johnson (4th year at Ohio State) Briefly: This unit features depth, talent, experience and 112 combined career starts led by Tyquan Lewis 34 and Sam Hubbard and Dre mont Jones 20 apiece. There are as many as dozen different players along the defensive line who rotate in, and there are six players who ve started at least six games apiece this season. Who are the Rushmen? Four DEs who wreak havoc: Lewis, Jalyn Holmes, Hubbard and Nick Bosa. Honorees: Lewis was the Big Ten s defensive lineman of the year last year. Hubbard was a first-team Academic All-American and is on the national ballot again with his 3.5 GPA in finance. Bosa and Jones were freshmen All-Americans. All are up for honors this season as well. Mid-season All-American: Bosa was named a first-team mid-season All-American by The Sporting News and the All-American, and second team by Sports Illustrated. Notable Notes & Numbers: Led by the defensive line, Ohio State s defense ranks 10th nationally with 8.0TFLs per game. Ten different defensive linemen have at least 2.0 tackles for loss. Bosa leads the way and is 7th in the Big Ten with 11.5 TFLs Bosa and Lewis are one-two on the team in sacks with 5.0 and 4.5, respectively Hubbard (7.5 TFLs) and Lewis (6.0) are second and third, respectively on the team in TFLs with true freshmen Chase Young challenging with 5.0 Lewis now has 21 career sacks and needs just two more to move into Ohio State s alltime Top 5. OFFENSIVE LINE Coach Greg Studrawa (2nd year at Ohio State) Briefly: Already-graduated C Billy Price, senior LT Jamarco Jones, sophomore LG Michael Jordan and junior RT Isaiah Prince are in their second season starting as a unit. Demetrius Knox has played well the past five games as a starter after six-game starter Branden Bowen suffered a left leg fracture against Maryland to end his season. Mid All-American, Rimington & Outland Trophy Honoree: Price, a first-team All-American in 2016 by the AFCA, was named a first-team mid-season All-American by the Associated Press. He is on the Rimington Award watch list and is a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy. More Honors: Jones was second-team all-big Ten last year and Jordan was a freshman All-American. Starter Stats: This is the first time in Urban Meyer s tenure at Ohio State that the same five offensive linemen who started Game 1 of a season won t start the final game of the season... The quartet of Price, Jones, Jordan and Prince has now started 24 consecutive games Price has started a school-record 52 consecutive games. 5

6 Notable Notes & Numbers: The offensive line has powered the Buckeyes to national rankings of No. 4 in total offense, No. 3 in scoring, 20th in passing and 12th in rushing yards per game the team is also No. 1 in total first downs with 308 Ohio State leads the Big Ten in the big four: rushing, passing, scoring and total offense Price, like Pat Elflein last year, has moved to center for his senior season. Elflein was a unanimous All-American and the Rimington Award winner as the nation s outstanding center. RECEIVERS Coach Zach Smith (6th year at Ohio State) Spreading the Wealth: This unit has a core base of six wide receivers who divide reps and all of whom have caught at least 17 passes and at least two touchdown passes. A seventh walk-on C.J. Saunders has also caught 17 passes for 221 yards. Big Play Makers: Those seven wide receivers came into the season with just six combined receptions of 20 or more yards for their career. Eleven games into the season the receiving corps has 36 such receptions. They had also come into 2017 with just four touchdown receptions. They have combined for 28 so far. Leaders: Fourth-year juniors McLaurin and Campbell were each chosen by their teammates to serve as captains for the 2017 Buckeyes. Notable Notes & Numbers: Parris Campbell is fast! He had a 44-yard reverse and a 38-yard reception that were very impressive vs. Illinois. He s back in business after missing two games because of injury and leads the team in reception yardage (518) while ranking second with 35 receptions Two touchdown receptions vs. Iowa by Johnnie Dixon has increased his team leading total to eight on the season tied for first in the Big Ten and just two away from Top 10 single season status at Ohio State A huge game by K.J. Hill vs. Penn State a career-high 12 catches for a personal best 102 yards propelled him to the front of the pack in receptions and he retains the team lead with 49 for 466 yards. The 12 receptions are tied for 4th in school history Victor, with two TD receptions vs. Illinois, and McLaurin are next after Dixon with seven and five TD grabs, respectively Receivers have produced five 100-yard receiving games this season, the most 100-yard receiving games by receivers in coach Urban Meyer s six seasons as coach. Previous high was three in 2015 and 2013 Campbell and Saunders vs. UNLV represent the first 100-yard receiving tandem for Ohio State since Ted Ginn and Santonio Holmes did it versus Notre Dame 12 years ago, in LINEBACKERS Coach Billy Davis (1st year at Ohio State) Next. Man. Up!: Season-long starter Dante Booker has missed the last two games because of injury. Chris Worley, Jerome Backer, Tuf Borland and Malik Harrison have been outstanding the past two games: Borland lead the way vs. Michigan State with 11 tackles and Harrison and Worley contributed six and five apiece. All three players recorded a quarterback sack. Worley led the LBs vs. Illinois with five in about two quarters of play. Briefly: Baker leads this unit with 46 tackles to rank third on the team. Team captain Worley, despite missing three games with a foot injury, is fourth with 43 stops. Borland is fifth with 39 tackles. Notable Notes & Numbers: Worley moved to middle linebacker on Day 1 of spring drills after playing on the outside last year Borland s 12 total stops versus Army were the most by a freshman linebacker since the 2011 season, when Ryan Shazier, now a starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers, recorded 15 against Penn State Current Ohio State linebackers have a total of nine double-digit tackling games combined: Worley leads the way with four, including career-bests of 11 vs. Oklahoma this year and vs. Michigan last year. Baker has three with a career-high 15 vs. Michigan last season and 13 vs. Wisconsin. Borland s now up to two: 12 vs. Army and 11 vs. Michigan State. CORNERBACKS Coach Kerry Coombs (6th year at Ohio State) Briefly: Junior Denzel Ward and sophomore Damon Arnette are first-year starters who have combined this season for 20 passes defended, including three interceptions. Junior college transfer Kendall Sheffield has also played extensively for the Buckeyes at corner. Mid-season All-American: Ward was named a first-team Mid-season All-American by CBS Sports and second team by the Associated Press. Game-Changer: Ward s blocked punt with 11:39 to play and Ohio State trailing No. 2 Penn State by 15 may have been the play of the game in Ohio State s come-from-behind, win. PSU coach James Franklin thought so. The Buckeyes scored two plays later. 4 First-Round Draft Picks: Ohio State has lost four defensive backs early to the NFL Draft in the last two years with all four first round picks, including a record three cornerbacks in two years. Eli Apple went No. 10 in 2016 to the New York Giants and in this past year s draft Marshon Lattimore went No. 11 overall to the New Orleans Saints and Gareon Conley went No. 24 overall to the Oakland Raiders. Notable Notes & Numbers: Ward has 12 passes defended 11 PBUs and one interception and ranks fifth in the Big Ten... In his first start in the season opener vs. Indiana, Ward had five pass break-ups and a key, fourth-quarter interception Arnette had an interception vs. Michigan State and a fumble recovery Sheffield and Arnette are tied for seventh on the team in tackles with 32 True freshman Jeffrey Okudah has played on defense in all 11 games this season. SAFETIES Coach Greg Schiano (2nd year at Ohio State) Briefly: Damon Webb is the veteran in the secondary with 24 consecutive starts at safety, including 13 alongside Malik Hooker last season. He leads the team with three interceptions this season, including one vs. Michigan State, and with four for his career. Jordan Fuller has joined Webb in the starting lineup at the other safety spot in 10 of 11 games. 7 the week before vs. Penn State. Webb had consecutive career-high tackling games with nine stops vs. both Oklahoma and Army. Notable Notes & Numbers: Still a lot of football to be played, but a non-linebacker has led the Buckeyes in tackles for a season only six times since 1970, with safety C.J. Barnett most-recently leading the team in 2011 with 75 Fuller grabbed a tipped pass at the goal line and returned it 40 yards to stop a first-half Indiana drive in Game 1 this season. It was Fuller s first career interception Webb actually had more plays on defense last year than All-American Malik Hooker: 810 to 808 Hooker was a unanimous All-American in his one season as a starter last year. He led the nation in pick-sixes with three and ranked third nationally with seven interceptions Erick Smith was second vs. Michigan State with seven tackles and he led the team vs. Illinois with six. QUARTERBACK Coach Ryan Day (1st year at Ohio State) Barrett Briefly: J.T. Barrett is now 35-6 as an Ohio State starting quarterback and has claimed 35 school (30) and/or Big Ten (five) records he is on the cusp of wins for a starting quarterback (36) at Ohio State. He picked up record No. 35 vs. Illinois (quarterback rushing yards, topping Braxton Miller s mark of 3,054). Barrett also holds school records for passing yards (9,079) and Big Ten records for TDs responsible for (140) and touchdown passes (101). Barrett is second in Big Ten history with 12,149 total offensive yards and is just 543 from Drew Brees record. He is 10th in NCAA history in TDs responsible for and is 19th in NCAA history in rush yards by a QB (3,070). Barrett s Streak: Barrett had a streak of 190 passes without an interception snapped against Iowa. His streak included a school record 16 consecutive completions in the third and fourth quarters vs. Penn State. Barrett completed 33- of-39 passes for 328 yards and four TDs in the comeback win over the No. 2 Nittany Lions. In the fourth quarter alone, he was 13-for-13 for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Notable Notes & Numbers: Barrett and the Buckeyes are 20th nationally in passing yards at yards per game, which is challenging the school single season record of yards per game set in 1998 the passing game is also ninth nationally in comp. pct. (66.8) and seventh in pass. eff. (164.69) the Buckeye offense had school record streaks of six consecutive games of 500-or-more yards of total offense and six consecutive games of at least 300 yards passing snapped vs. Iowa Barrett, Dwayne Haskins and Joe Burrow combined to throw for a single game school record 474 yards versus UNLV and they also threw a school-record tying seven touchdown passes to a school record seven different. RUNNING BACKS Coach Tony Alford (3rd year at Ohio State) Boom Boom: Behind the tandem of Mike Weber and J.K. Dobbins, with some J.T. Barrett sprinkled OHIO STATE VS. MICHIGAN HOLMES in, the Buckeyes are coming of consecutive 300 yard games with 335 vs. Michigan State and 325 vs. Illinois in a slog-fest. Weber and Dobbins powered the Buckeyes against the Spartans No. 3 ranked rush defense with 162 and 124 yards, respectively. The dual 100-yard games represented the first by an OSU running back tandem since the 2011 season, when Dan Herron and Carlos Hyde (along with QB Braxton Miller) all topped 100 yards rushing vs. Indiana. Weber kept charging last week vs. Illinois with 108 yards off 11 carries and two more touchdowns. Briefly: Ohio State is 12th nationally in rushing and first in the Big Ten at yards per game. True freshman Dobbins has starred in his 11 starts: he is the fourth Ohio State freshman to top 1,000 yards rushing (1,089) and he boasts a terrific 7.3 yards per carry average that ranks seventh nationally. He is 30th nationally in rushing at 99.0 yards per game. Weber, after missing much of the first four games with a hamstring issue first incurred in fall camp, now has 555 yards rushing and a team-best nine touchdowns. Notable Notes & Numbers: Weber s careerbest rushing day vs. Michigan State included a career-long 82-yard touchdown run. It was the sixth-longest rush in Ohio State history and the longest since Ezekiel Elliott s Bama breaking 85-yarder in the 2014 CFP semifinals at the Sugar Bowl. Webber averaged 18 yards off his nine carries vs. Michigan State. He has three long touchdown runs the past two games of 47, 82 and 43 yards Dobbins averaged 13.2 yards per carry against Army, with 172 yards off 13 carries. Only one player in school history has topped that yards per carry average with at least 10 attempts in a game: Ron Springs rushed for 151 yards off 10 carries in 1977 vs. Purdue Dobbins is only the sixth true freshman to start the first game of season for Ohio State. The others: QB Art Schlichter in 1978; LT Orlando Pace in 1995; LB Andy Katzenmoyer in 1996; RB Maurice Clarett in 2002; and RG Michael Jordan in 2016 Last year Weber was just the third Ohio State freshman to crack 1,000 yards rushing (1,096 yards with nine touchdowns) and he was the ninth Buckeye to capture Big Ten freshman of the year honors Dobbins has high games of 181 vs. Indiana and 172 against Army. He was named the Big Ten Conference freshman or co-freshman of the week after each of those efforts Antonio Williams had a career-high 74 yards off a career high 19 carries vs. Illinois. TIGHT END Coach Kevin Wilson (1st year at Ohio State) Briefly: 2016 starter and senior Marcus Baugh is leading the way with 21 receptions for 218 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winning grab against Penn State of 16 yards with just 1:48 to play in the game. Rashod Berry has six catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with game action as a tight end. Notable Notes & Numbers: Baugh has started 26 times in his career, including in all 13 games last season Baugh s game-winning TD reception moved him into a tie for 10th at Ohio State for TDs by a tight end. He now has seven and is tied for ninth in school history with Jeff Heuerman in TE TDs. He needs just six receptions he has 48 for his career to move into Ohio State s tight end Top 10 Berry broke four tackles on his second career reception which turned into a 38-yard touchdown reception against UNLV Berry, who played tight end as a red-shirt in 2015 but moved to defensive end last year before moving back to tight end this fall, had three catches for 57 yards in the game Baugh has made TD-springing blocks for J.K. Dobbins 52-yard touchdown run against Army and on Johnnie Dixon s 39-yard touchdown reception against Rutgers. SPECIAL TEAMS Coaches Urban Meyer and Kerry Coombs Briefly: Liam McCullough is in his second season as a long snapper and Sean Nuernberger is in his second year handling all placements. Drue Chrisman is a red-shirt freshman in his first season as the team s punter. Notable Notes & Numbers: Chrisman has been solid in place of talented Australian punter Cam Johnston by averaging 43.5 yards per punt. He was terrific vs. Oklahoma: a 45.8 yard average with all four punts landing inside the 15 and is coming off a 46.2-yard game vs. Illinois. A Ray Guy Award semifinalist, Chrisman and the Buckeyes are 11th nationally in net punting at 41.6 yards per punt Ohio State is No. 1 nationally in punt return defense; the unit has allowed one punt return yard all season Nuernberger is 29-for-39 in his career in field goals, including 13-of-15 this year for a percentage of 86.7 that is 10th nationally. He has smashed the Big Ten Conference record for consecutive extra points and has now made 167 consecutively including all 61 this year with his most important kick giving Ohio State its first lead against Penn State at

Built in 1922 at a cost of $1.3 million and refurbished in 2001 for slightly more than $194 million, the horseshoeshaped stadium is a monument to college football. As part of the renovation, the once portable South Stands became a permanent fixture. Ohio Stadium is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. 20 GAME 7: AT PENN STATE GAME 9: NEBRASKA Head Coach Urban Meyer Ohio State University head football coach Urban Meyer is 70-8 through five-plus seasons leading one of the most storied programs in college football. He has coached the Buckeyes to a national championship in 2014 the program s eighth by winning the first College Football Playoff (CFP), to a repeat appearance in the CFP in 2017, to five consecutive Big Ten conference divisional titles and a Big Ten crown in 2014, to a 46-3 record in Big Ten games and to a 18-5 record versus ranked teams. He has done this by developing and overseeing a program culture that requires accountability, promotes respect, prepares young men for life after football and develops football skill sets and talents at an unsurpassed rate: his program has produced 33 NFL draft picks the last five years, including 10 first-round picks and record numbers of draft picks through the second, third and fourth rounds of the 2016 NFL Draft. And his team members are getting it done in the classroom, as well. Ohio State Buckeyes have earned four academic All-American honorees the past three years, one National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete award and the team is coming off its finest academic semester under Meyer last fall with record numbers of students with 3.0 (or above) grade point averages for the semester and cumulatively.
