Kickoff on Sunday, Sept. 18, is scheduled for noon at the Coliseum (capacity 69,043). The Titans hope to rebound from last week s season-opening 34-7 loss at Pittsburgh. Quarterback Steve McNair completed 18 of 26 passes for 219 yards and one touchdown, and Chris Brown led the team in rushing with 11 carries for 63 yards (5.7 avg.). But they could not overcome four turnovers on offense and 161 rushing yards by Steelers running back Willie Parker. Likewise, the Ravens were defeated in their opener, falling 24-7 at home to the Indianapolis Colts. Much like the Titans, they could not overcome four total turnovers even though they outgained the Colts in total yardage Starting quarterback Kyle Boller left the game in the second half with a right foot injury and was replaced by Anthony Wright. Scheduled to be in uniform for the Ravens are two popular members of previous Titans squads, wide receiver Derrick Mason and cornerback Samari Rolle. Both were released by the Titans during the offseason for salary cap purposes. Mason, now in his ninth season, was selected by the Titans in the fourth round (98th overall) of the 1997 draft. He went on to play in two Pro Bowls while becoming the fourth-leading receiver in Titans history with 453 receptions. Rolle, a one-time Pro Bowler with the Titans, was selected by the club in the sec - ond round (46th overall) of the 1998 draft. He is 10th on the team s all-time interceptions list, collecting 23 interceptions in a Tennessee uniform. SERIES HISTORY The Titans and Ravens began their rivalry in 1996, the Ravens first year in Baltimore after relocating from Cleveland. They played together in the AFC Central Division for six seasons before realignment in 2002 took the Titans to the AFC South and the Ravens to the AFC North. The Titans controlled the series for several years, winning six out of the first nine games with the Ravens. Then, in 2000, the Ravens beat the Titans at the Coliseum in the regular season and then again in the divisional playoffs the same year. The Ravens went on to win a total of five consecutive games over the Titans until the 2003 playoffs, when the Titans won at Baltimore in a Wild Card playoff game on the strength of a 46-yard Gary Anderson field goal in the final minute of play. The Ravens lead the overall series 8-7, including a 1-1 series tie in playoff meetings. A TITANS VICTORY WOULD... Improve Jeff Fisher s career record as head coach to Improve Steve McNair s regular season record as a starting quarterback to Improve the franchise record in home openers to and 5-2 at the Coliseum. Give the Titans their second consecutive win at home dating back to last season. Give the Titans their second consecutive win over the Ravens. Even the all-time series with the Ravens (including playoffs) at 8-8.

3 TITANS-RAVENS MATCHUP TITANS-RAVENS: THE LAST MEETING January 3, 2004 Wild Card Playoff Game Titans 20 at Ravens 17 M&T Bank Stadium Final Tennessee Titans Baltimore Ravens In a memorable Wild Card matchup, Gary Anderson kicked the 46-yard game-winning field goal to snap the Titans five-game losing streak to the Ravens, advancing the Titans to the divisional playoff round against the eventualchampion New England Patriots. NFL Co-MVP Steve McNair threw for 159 yards and one touchdown on 23 passes while playing on a sore right ankle. Running back Eddie George, who separated his left shoulder in the second quarter but returned, set the tone for the Titans rushing game with 25 attempts and 88 yards. But it was rookie running back Chris Brown who scored his first career touchdown on a six-yard run in the Titans opening 10-play, five-minute drive. The Ravens scored twice in the first half on an interception return by Will Demps and a field goal to garner a 10-7 halftime lead. Justin McCareins caught McNair's only touchdown pass, a 49-yarder, halfway through the third quarter. Anderson kicked his first field goal of the day, good from 45- yards to open the fourth quarter. 4 LAST WEEK S GAME LAST WEEK AGAINST THE STEELERS September 11, 2005 Titans 7 at Steelers 34 Heinz Field Final Tennessee Titans Pittsburgh Steelers Second-round draft pick Michael Roos started at left tackle against the Steelers. The 6-7, 315-pound lineman went to Eastern Washington University. Last week in the season opener, the Titans were defeated 34-7 by the Steelers at Heinz Field. The Titans committed four turnovers in the loss, and the Steelers totaled 206 rushing yards while scoring 34 unanswered points. After efficiently driving the ball down the field on their opening drive, Tennessee s offense sputtered against a dominant Steelers defense. Titans quarterback Steve McNair, who completed 18 of 26 passes for 219 yards, found tight end Ben Troupe for a one-yard TD to grab an early advantage, capping an 11- play, 61-yard drive. The Steelers then countered with a nine-play, 77-yard drive to even the score, and the Titans were unable to retain the momentum they gained in the contest s opening minutes. On their next three possesssions, hopeful-looking drives by the Titans were undone by a fumble, a missed field goal and an interception. Meanwhile, the Steelers converted most of their opportunities, connecting on two Jeff Reed field goals and a 63-yard scoring pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Antwaan Randle El. They took a 20-7 lead into halftime. The second half began in similar fashion to much of the first half, with Pittsburgh running back Willie Parker scoring on an 11-yard run just minutes into the third quarter. On the day, Parker totaled 161 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts and added one reception for 48 yards. Roethlisberger was highly efficient, attempting just 11 passes but connecting on nine of them for 218 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Randle El tallied 89 yards and a touchdown on two receptions to lead the Steelers, who won their 16th consecutive regular season game dating back to Week 2 of Tight end Erron Kinney led the Titans with five catches for 58 yards in the debut of new offensive coordinator Norm Chow. Titans running back Chris Brown ran 11 times for 63 yards while newcomer Travis Henry ran for 35 yards on 10 carries in his first game with the team. NOTES FROM LAST WEEK S GAME ROOKIE STARTS: Rookies Michael Roos and Bo Scaife each received their first NFL starts in the season opener at Pittsburgh. Roos, a secondround draft pick out of Eastern Washington, started at left tackle in place of Brad Hopkins. Scaife, a sixth-round selection from Texas, started at tight end in a three-tight end package. BENNETT S STARTING STREAK SNAPPED: Because of the Titans offense starting in a three-tight end package, wide receiver Drew Bennett saw his string of 16 consecutive starts come to an end. BENNETT TIES CAREER LONG: Wide receiver Drew Bennett tied his career long with a 53-yard reception in the second quarter of the game at Pittsburgh. B. JONES MAKES AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT: During the team s 11-play, 61-yard touchdown drive to open the game, they faced a third-and-seven from the Pittsburgh 40-yard line. Quarterback Steve McNair then found rookie wide receiver Brandon Jones streaking for a 10-yard gain to gain a first down and set the team up for its score six plays later. TROUPE RECOVERS IN A HURRY: Tight end Ben Troupe, who fractured his left foot in organized team activities on May 23, rehabbed his injury throughout training camp and the preseason but never made it into an exhibition game. He saw his first action since the injury at Pittsburgh and delivered almost immediate results, grabbing a one-yard touchdown pass from Steve McNair to cap the team s opening drive. It was his second career touchdown reception. Troupe finished the day with four receptions for 28 yards. He currently has the longest receiving streak on the team, recording a reception in each of the last 12 games. SPEAKING OF RECOVERIES: Four members of the Titans went down with ACL injuries in linebacker Peter Sirmon, wide receiver Tyrone Calico, safety Tank Williams and tackl/guard Jacob Bell. Each one of them started for the Titans in the season opener. INJURY TOLL HAS BEEN PAID: In all, eight players started at Pittsburgh who were unavailable at the end of 2004 because of injuries -- Sirmon, Calico, Williams, Bell, LG Zach Piller, QB Steve McNair, RB Chris Brown and CB Andre Woolfolk. BROWN RUMBLES FOR 35: Running back Chris Brown scampered for 35 yards in the second quarter. It was his third career rush of 35 yards or longer. He previously went 35 yards at Miami (9/11/04) and at Green Bay (10/11/04) in FIRST-DRIVE SCORING: To begin the game at Pittsburgh, the Titans offense marched 61 yards on 11 plays and scored on a one-yard pass from McNair to Troupe. It was their 41st time in 113 regular season games (36.3 percent) since the start of the 1999 season that they have scored on their opening drive. They are (.707) in that time span when they score on their opening possession. Last season they scored on their first drive five times. OPPONENTS FIRST-DRIVE SCORING: Conversely, when the Titans allow their opponent to score on the first drive, they are (.357) since the start of the 1999 season after allowing the Steelers to score on a nineplay, 77-yard drive on their first possession.

5 HEAD COACHES THE HEAD COACHES TITANS HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER: Jeff Fisher is in his 11th full season as head coach of the Titans. With a career record, including postseason, he holds the franchise record for wins by a head coach. He has more regular season wins (61) over the last six seasons than any other coach in the AFC, and he ranks third overall in the NFL since 1999 behind Tony Dungy (65 total wins) and Andy Reid (63 as of 9/11). In 2005, he can become the 33rd head coach in NFL history and ninth active coach to reach 100 career wins. He would be one of 17 coaches to do so with just one team. Among current head coaches, only Pittsburgh s Bill Cowher has been with his team longer than Fisher has been with the Oilers/Titans. His team's success over the last six years is unmatched by any coach in franchise history. Fisher led the Titans to four playoff appearances (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003), two Division titles (2000 & 2002), two AFC Championship Games (1999, 2002) and one Super Bowl berth (XXXIV). He has presided over the most victorious (61 regular season wins and 5 postseason wins) and successful six-year period in the franchise's 45-year history. In 2004, he became the fourth youngest coach (46) to win 90 regular season games since Only John Madden (41), Don Shula (41), and Bill Cowher (44) were faster to 90 wins. A native of Woodland Hills, Calif., the former USC and Chicago Bears defensive back became the franchise s 15th head coach on January 5, 1995 after serving the final six games of the 1994 season as the team s interim head coach. Fisher facts: THE HEAD COACHES At USC, played in the same defensive backfield as future NFL stars Ronnie Lott, Dennis Smith and Joey Browner. Was a seventh-round draft pick by the Chicago Bears in In 1985, served in an unofficial assistant coach capacity while on injured reserve during the Bears run to Super Bowl XX. In 1988, at the age of 30, became the NFL s youngest defensive coordinator under Buddy Ryan. Serves as Co-Chairman of the NFL Competition Committee. Ran the Country Music Marathon in RAVENS HEAD COACH BRIAN BILLICK: Brian Billick became the Ravens' head coach on Jan. 19, He quickly changed the course for the team, producing an 8-8 mark in his first season. In year two (2000), Billick and the Ravens produced a 12-4 regular season record, sweeping through the playoffs to the Super Bowl XXXV championship. The 2000 Ravens defense set the NFL's 16-game standard for fewest points (165). In 2001, with a spate of injuries to important contributors, his team battled to a 10-6 mark, earned a Wild Card berth and advanced to the Divisional Playoff round. After a dramatic salary cap cleansing, and with the youngest team in NFL history, the Ravens finished 2002 with a 7-9 mark. In 2003, with the 3rd-youngest team in the league, the Ravens won the AFC North with a 10-6 record. Baltimore was 9-7 in 2004, falling one victory short of the playoffs. Under Billick, the Ravens have always been a team that features an outstanding defense, an offense that runs the ball effectively, and special teams that are scrappy and effective. His teams have been highly successful late in the season. In his tenure, only Philadelphia (36-13), New England (32-16), Indianapolis (34-17) and Green Bay (34-17) have better November- December records than Billick's Ravens (32-17). Prior to his career in Baltimore, Billick served as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings. In 1998, he coordinated a Vikings' offense that scored the most points in NFL history (556). His career also includes stops at Redlands (1979), San Diego State ( ), Utah State ( ) and Stanford ( ).
