4 Clark Donatelli joined the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins as head coach on Dec. 22, 2015 after spending four seasons as the head coach of the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). Donatelli, 51, is Wheeling s all-time leader in coaching wins, posting an overall record of He is also the only coach in Nailers history to take the team to consecutive playoff appearances. Donatelli served one season as the Nailers assistant coach before taking over as head coach mid season in In his five years total behind the bench for Wheeling, Donatelli s teams qualified for the Kelly Cup Playoffs four times. After three years playing at Boston University from , Donatelli embarked on a seven-year pro hockey career that included 35 NHL games in which he put up three goals and three assists for six points. In his third and final season with the Terriers, Donatelli was a teammate to Sullivan. In addition to his pro hockey résumé, Donatelli had extensive experience playing for the United States. Donatelli represented the United States three times in the IIHF World Championships, captained Team USA in the 1985 World Junior Championship, and made the U.S. Olympic squad in 1988 and 1992, serving as team captain in 92. Jarrod Skalde is in his first season as assistant coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He was hired by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Aug. 31, 2018 after spending the previous season in the Penguins organization as development coach with Pittsburgh. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native also has prior head coaching experience at the AHL level, serving as the Norfolk Admirals bench boss coach during the campaign. Skalde, 47, had a long professional playing career before becoming a coach. He spent 18 seasons as a pro across North America, Europe and Asia, and he racked up 115 NHL games and 575 AHL games during that time. In his NHL days, Skalde was an original Mighty Duck, playing for Anaheim s expansion team in , in addition to skating for the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Atlanta Thrashers and Philadelphia Flyers. He also was the head coach and director of hockey operations for the ECHL s Cincinnati Cyclones in , and , as well as head coach of the OHL s Guelph Storm in and J.D. Forrest is in his third season as assistant coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He was hired by the Penguins organization on Aug. 2, He is responsible for mentoring the Penguins defense and coaching the team s penalty kill units. Prior to joining Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Forrest spent the season coaching Red Bull Salzburg s farm team in Austria. With Salzburg, Forrest s team went in the international Red Bull Hockey Series and went unbeaten (4-0) in its seasonending tournament. Before coaching Salzburg s farm team, the 35-year-old from Auburn, N.Y. served as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team Development Program in While with the USNTDP, Forrest had the opportunity to mentor future top NHL draft picks Matthew Tkachuk, Clayton Keller, Luke Kunin and Auston Matthews. He won a gold medal with the team at the IIHF U18 World Junior Championship. Following four years at Boston College, Forrest played defense for the Albany River Rats and Worcester Sharks in the AHL in Forrest also played pro hockey in Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.
