3 FALL & WINTER PROGRAMS 3_ PUBLIC SKATING AND SHINNY HOCKEY SCHEDULE ** Note: Skating schedule is subject to change. Please check the schedule online. Public Skating Shinny Hockey Tuesday/Thursday 3:30-5:00 pm Wednesday 3:30-5:00 pm Friday (no game scheduled) 8:00-9:30 pm Sunday 7:30-9:00 pm Season Opens on Friday, October 3 rd with special skate times of. Shinny Hockey 5:00-7:00 pm Public Skating 7:00-9:00 pm YOUTH RECREATIONAL HOCKEY ON OUR OUTDOOR RINK Every Thursday starting as soon as the outdoor ice is hard enough to skate on- hopefully by December, come on out and have some fun on our outdoor rink at a time that you know others will also be there to play some recreational hockey! This program will be supervised and the play kept fair. Each day the group will decide what type of game to play. THURSDAYS 3:30-5:30 PM HALLOWEEN SKATING PARTY Dress up in your favourite costume, lace up your skates and come enjoy an hour and a half of spooky music and fun. Everyone welcome! Fun and games for everyone and a few surprises too! See you there! 5 FALL & WINTER PROGRAMS 5_ YOUTH INDOOR RECREATIONAL SOCCER Would you like to learn how to play soccer and get some great exercise at the same time? Then this is just for you! Winter and soccer usually don t mix but this year it does in the POW Auditorium. This supervised program is designed to be fun and fair. Just bring yourself and a pair of non-marking running shoes! When: Mondays November 3 rd to December 15 th, 2014 Cost: $2.00/day Time: 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm Ages: 5-7 years, 8-12 years Please call the Recreation to have your name put on our list! YOUTH RECREATIONAL BASKETBALL It s still cold outside- so why not play some hoops where it s warm? Come out and enjoy mixed recreational youth basketball in the POW Auditorium. This program is designed to introduce the game to those who have not played or not played much, to improve everyone s skills and learn more about overall game play in a supervised and fair environment. When: Mondays January 12 th to March 23 rd, 2015 Ages: 5-7years, 8-12 years Time: 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm Cost: $2.00/day Please call the Recreation to have your name put on our list! GET OUT OF THE COLD- WITH A MOVIE! Bring your friends, your family or just yourself to an evening at the Movies. We will be playing 2 Movies at the POW Theatre. The Theatre Concession will be open- regular pricing applies for all food products. When: Tuesday, November 25 th and January 27 th Time: 6:00 pm The name of the Movie will be announced closer to the date. Everyone is welcome!
6 FALL & WINTER PROGRAMS 6_ HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY Want to dress up in your costume and go Trick or Treating inside before Halloween night? Then this is a party just for you!! Lots of games, treats, stories and more. Be prepared to be scared When: Sunday, October 26 th Time: 1:00 to 3:00 pm Where: POW Auditorium Cost: All children up to the age of 13 are welcome! Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. ADULT RECREATIONAL BASKETBALL & VOLLEYBALL Enjoy friendly competition in a relaxed environment? Come on out and participate in our adult recreational league. The set up will depend upon what the group wants with consideration that it must be both sports, not just one. The league is for all adults and the emphasis is on fun and not on competition. When: Tuesdays starting October 14 th Time: 5:30-7:00 the POW Auditorium Cost: $2.00/day Please call the Recreation to have your name put on our list! HORSEBACK RIDING Our Agriplex building has a dirt floor interior that can be used as a type of riding ring. The building isn t heated but it does provide shelter and a snow free zone. You can rent the interior space to ride your horse for $40.00/hour. Call the Recreation Department to book your
7 FALL & WINTER SERVICES 7_ SKATE SHARPENING SERVICE Arena Operators can sharpen skates. We ask that skates are done during off hours and not before games or classes. Everyone is welcome. 7:00 pm in the basement of the Recreation Department th Avenue West (next to the Post Office) ASSINIBOIA CURLING CLUB The Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre is home to the Assiniboia Curling Club. The curling club is a very spacious four sheet facility which opened in November It comes with enough seating for approximately one thousand viewers. There is seating along sheet one for approximately seven hundred spectators, while the main level lobby and lounge make room for another 300 viewers. The Assiniboia Curling Club is a registered member of the Saskatchewan Curling Association The lounge is located in the upper level of our curling club. There is excellent viewing for approximately 150 spectators. There is no problem seeing all curling action from anywhere behind the glass. The lounge also provides a billiards table, a shuffleboard table, and a big screen television for entertainment purposes following a game of curling. LEAGUES AND FEES: The Assiniboia Curling Clubs hosts a variety of leagues throughout the winter. Here is a list of the different leagues that are available to join.
