1 c Installation Instructions Conversion Kits & Kits & This sheet provides installation instructions and replacement parts lists for the Cascade Conversion and Kits. The kits convert earlier versions of E-Series Push/Pulls to the latest gripper assembly and gripper cylinder configuration. The gripper cylinder kits do not include a new gripper bar and bearings. 1 Fully extend the attachment faceplate. Attach an overhead hoist to the gripper assembly lifting holes. Take up slack in the chain. 3 Disconnect, tag and plug the hoses from the junction block. 4 Remove the capscrews fastening the gripper assembly to the faceplate. Remove the gripper assembly and lay it on the floor with the cylinders upward. For reassembly, tighten the capscrews to the torque values below: Hex Head Capscrews 160 ft.-lbs. (15 Nm) Flat Head Capscrews 1 ft.-lbs. (165 Nm) Extend the 1faceplate. Attach overhead hoist. Disconnect 3 hoses. 2 5 Remove the gripper cylinders. 6 Remove the bearing strips from the gripper jaw if new bearings are included in the kit. For reassembly, apply waterproof chassis grease (Whitmore Omni-Task EP or NLGI grade ) to the gripper jaw and bearing strip contact surfaces during assembly. Remove bearing 6 strips 5 Remove cylinders 7 Remove the gripper pad from the gripper bar if a new gripper bar is included in the kit. 7 from Remove gripper pad gripper bar. PP0706.eps 8 Install the new cylinders and gripper bar/bearings, if included in the kit, to the gripper jaw. 8 Install the new cylinders and gripper bar/bearings if included in the kit. 3 Jaw Bearing 9 Pad Bar PP090.eps 9 Install the gripper pad to the new gripper bar if a new gripper bar is included in the kit. Tighten the capscrews to a torque of 14 ft.-lbs. (19 Nm). 10 For reassembly, reverse procedures. 3
