A. INSTRUCTIONS Step 1 Player and Adult Official Registration Please confirm before getting started that all of your players are playing in the correct age group. Players requesting to play up one year may do so without approval by MSI. For players requesting to play up two years you must obtain approval from MSI before they can be rostered to your team. The process for this prior approval is described below. The following is the age group chart for the seasonal year (August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018): U10 8/1/ /31/2008 U11 8/1/ /31/2007 U12 8/1/ /31/2006 U13 8/1/ /31/2005 U14 8/1/ /31/2004 U15 8/1/ /31/2003 U16 8/1/ /31/2002 U17 8/1/ /31/2001 U18 8/1/ /31/2000 U19 8/1/ /31/1999 Team roster limits for the season are as follows: U10 13 players (no multiple roster players) U11 14 players (no multiple roster players) U12 14 players (no multiple roster players) U13 18 players (max of 3 multiple roster players) U14 18 players (max of 3 multiple roster players) U15 21 players (max of 3 multiple roster players) U16-U19 26 players (for any one game, only maximum 21 players may be dressed in uniform and the other names must be clearly crossed off the roster copy that is given to the referee). No more than 3 multiple roster players may be on the 26 player roster. Please note that all forms to be used for registration for MSI Classic are located on MSI s website. Each player to be rostered to a Classic team registered with MSI must be provided a copy of the MSI Classic Player Rights and Obligations. This form can be downloaded by team officials from the MSI website at From the MSI website, navigate to CLASSIC>REGISTRATION >PLAYERS AND ADULT OFFICIALS>MSI CLASSIC PLAYERS RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS. Each player to be rostered to a Classic team must complete the MSI Classic Player Registration and Medical Authorization form. This form can be downloaded by team 2

officials or parents from the MSI website at From the MSI website, navigate to CLASSIC>REGISTRATION >PLAYERS AND ADULT OFFICIALS> PLAYER REGISTRATION AND MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION FORM. Each player/parent should complete and sign the MSI Classic Player Registration Form. The Team Name on the form should be identified with the appropriate age group before the team name. For example, the United who play in U11 Boys should be identified as MSI Classic U11 Boys United. When completing the form, the parent/player MUST choose one of these two options on the form: Player is not rostered to any other MSI Recreation, MSI Classic or other US Club Soccer or MSYSA travel team (e.g.obsl, WAGS, NCSL). Player is also rostered to the following team (e.g. OBSL, WAGS, NCSL, MSI Classic, etc.). : (Club/Team) (League) (Age Group) If the second option is chosen, the parent/player must indicate the name of the second club and team to which the player will be rostered. The player s medical information should be filled out correctly and completely, and the form must be signed and dated by the player s parent or guardian. Please note the following Classic registration rules when completing the Classic Registration form: MSI Classic players may NOT play on a MSI Recreational team. Classic players may not play up two years without first receiving permission from MSI. Parents of players requesting to do so must complete and sign the MSI Request for Exemption to Play-Up Two Years form. This form can be downloaded by team officials or parents from the MSI website at From MSI s website, navigate to >REGISTRATION >PLAYERS AND ADULT OFFICIALS>REQUEST FOR AN EXEMPTION TO PLAY TWO YEARS UP. This form must be completed in accordance with its instructions and submitted to the MSI Registration Administrator (classicreg@msisoccer.org) for approval. Once approved, the family will be sent an with a link to register their child. The player requesting the exemption will not be entered on the team s roster until his or her exemption request has been approved and the player registration has been completed. Players are not permitted to play three years up. Once approved, the form does not need to be submitted for subsequent seasons. IMPORTANT: Classic teams are limited to a maximum of TWO players playing two years up. 3

U10-U12 Classic teams are not permitted to have players rostered on other Classic teams or other travel teams, such as OBSL, NCSL or WAGS teams (multiple rostering, also known as double or dual carding). U13 and older Classic teams are permitted up to three players who also are rostered to another Classic team (provided it plays in a different age group and with prior approval) OR to other travel teams (NCSL, WAGS, etc.). U16-U19 teams may not have more than three multiple rostered players on their 26 player team roster. Each player should also provide the following to their team official along with the completed Classic Player Registration and Medical Authorization form: Proof Of Age (POA). For returning Classic players this can be the ORIGINAL player card from the previous seasonal year. Other acceptable POA s are COPIES of government issued birth certificates, valid passports or other government issued indentification requiring a POA. For questions on acceptable documents, contact the Classic Program Manager. A 1 x1 forward facing clear headshot hard copy photo (black and white or color) against a plain background with the player s name and team written on the back. Note: NEW pictures are required each carding year. You may not use the same picture from the prior year. IMPORTANT: Until further notice, the photo must be a hard copy photo with player s name and team clearly written on the back. Step 2 Player and Adult Registration in Korrio Classic Program Please note: the player s name entered into MSI s Korrio database must match the name on the proof of age submitted. Each team manager should instruct the families to register their child in the Korrio Classic Player Registration program. Adult officials (Coach, Manager and Assistant Coach, if applicable) should register in the Korrio Adult Registration program. Player registration links for each age group as well as the link for the Adult Registration can be found on the Classic Player and Adult Official Registration page. Parents should click on the link for their team s age group, log into their existing Korrio account or create a new one and complete the registration of their child. Adult officials should log into their existing Korrio account or create a new one and register themselves. Each team should have a minimum of two adult officials and may have no more than three adult officials. Important Note: Player and adult registrants should be certain that they have fully completed the registration in Korrio. An confirmation will be sent once the registration is completed. On a rolling basis during the adult and player registration window, the Registration Administrator (not the Registrar) will place the adult officials and the players on the 4

appropriate team roster. To check the status of your team s roster as an adult official, log into your Korrio account as described below. There will be at least a two day lag between player/adult registration and team assignment. Please be patient but if you feel you are missing personnel that should be assigned, confirm with the missing person that they have registered and if they have, contact the Registration Administrator at classicreg@msisoccer.org. Once you have verified that all players and adults are placed properly you may 1) assign jersey numbers to players and 2) print the roster to be delivered to the registrar. Once they have been placed on the team by the RA, any team official can access the team roster by following these steps: Log in to Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen and select home. On the left hand side of the screen, select teams. You will see a list of the teams on which your kids have been placed (My Kid s Teams) and the teams on which you have been placed as an adult official (My Teams). Under My Teams, select the team roster that you wish to access. Click on roster on the left hand side of the page. To assign jersey numbers to a player, single click on the No. box to the left of the player s name. This will open the box for editing. Type in the number and tab out of the box. This will save the number assigned to the player. To print a team roster, click on the printer icon to the right of the words team roster. You will see choices for three different views of the team roster- Detailed Roster, Team Roster #1 and Washington State Roster. Team Roster #1 is the roster that you will deliver to your registrar and will be stamped and approved. You should make copies of the original stamped roster and use those to present to the referee at the start of each game. DO NOT GIVE YOUR ORIGINAL ROSTER TO THE REFEREE! The detailed roster will be useful for team managers as it has more information about each team member- address, phone numbers, parents names, etc. Step 3 Submission of Registration Documents to Team Registrar To help identify your registrar, a complete list of registrars and their s can be found at the end of this document and is posted on the MSI website on the Classic Player Registration page. Prior to submitting any documents to your registrar, make a copy of each player s registration forms. You should submit the copy to the registrar and keep the original in your team book. The copies of the form, proof of birth documents and the photos will not be returned to you by the registrar, and requests for registrars to make copies of these documents or otherwise make the documents available to you can t be honored. 5

You will need to submit the following materials to your registrar: 1. A copy of Team Roster #1 as printed from your Korrio team page (see above). Please make certain that jersey numbers are reflected on the roster. 2. For each player, a copy of the Classic Player Registration and Medical Authorization form. For all U10- U12 Classic teams, please identify on the form how each player qualified for Classic play by noting the following in the upper right corner: E for successfully completed skills evaluation; P for previously carded to another travel team; or WC for Wild Card. Please note that playing on a Classic team in the prior seasonal year does not make a player Classic eligible unless the player has passed the skills evaluation. 3. A copy of the Adult registration forms for Head Coach, Manager, and Assistant Coach 4. A hard copy 1 x1 photo of each player with the player s full name and team name written on the back. 5. Transfer or release forms with the required signatures of parents and team officials if applicable. See section B (6) on page 9. To prepare your packet for the registrar, print a copy of your team s Korrio Team Roster #1. In alphabetical order by player last name, paper clip the following documents together and attach to the roster 1) The photo of the player with the full name and team name written on the back 2) A copy of each player s proof of birth document, if the document is last year s player card, it must be the original. Copies of birth certificates and passports ARE acceptable. 3) A copy of the Player Registration/Medical Release form At the end of the player documentation, include the Adult Carded Official Registration Forms and photos. Packets that do not include forms for the adult officials will not be processed. ALL adult officials must be issued new cards for the coming year. All adult officials must provide their social security number during their registration so that a background check can be completed. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Adults who are not comfortable providing the SSN in their online registration may contact the Registration Administrator (classicreg@msisoccer.org) to arrange to provide the number over the phone. Please note that our registrars are volunteers who devote a considerable amount of time assisting MSI with the administration of its Classic program. We ask that 6

you take time to organize your registration package and ensure that you have included everything that is required to register your team. The more organized your package is, the easier and less time consuming it will be for your registrar to complete his or her review and process your player and team official cards. Incomplete or incorrect packages may have to be returned to you for correction thus substantially increasing the processing time. Contact your registrar via to let him or her know that your packet is ready and that you are ready to submit the materials to him or her. Let him or her know how you will be getting the packet of materials to them (via mail or dropping off at their house) and when you will be doing this. If you are dropping the materials off at the registrar s home, please submit the materials in a large manila envelope and include the following on the front of the envelope: your team name, gender and age group; the person preparing the packet; an address and phone number where that person can be reached; and an where any questions can be sent. If you are requesting that the materials be mailed back to you, please be certain to include a selfaddressed, stamped envelope. If you are mailing the package to your registrar, please include the same information on a sheet of paper inside your mailing, and make sure to include a return, self-addressed stamped envelope. Please make sure that you have sufficient postage on the return envelope consistent with the current postage guidelines. The registrar will review the information in your package for accuracy and verify each player s roster age against their proof of age documents. If everything is in order, they will stamp and approve the roster, print and stamp your team s player and team official cards AND attach the player and adult photos. Cards or rosters without the registrar s stamp of approval will not be accepted at games. You should receive an from the registrar that your cards and roster are available to be picked up after this process has been completed. Please note that team official cards are processed contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal records check. As a result, team official passcards may not be issued at the same time as player passcards. Please be patient. Once your player cards have been approved, your roster becomes an official roster. You must bring a copy of your stamped roster and your player cards to each game. Do not give your ORIGINAL official roster to the referee!! Your player pass cards are issued for the entire seasonal year which runs from August 1, 2015 through July 31, We suggest that you take steps to protect (laminate) these cards after receiving them to avoid damage or loss. 7

B. RULES & REMINDERS FOR ALL TEAMS (1) Multiple Rostered Players In age groups where multiple rostering (double or dual carding) is allowed (U13 and above), teams are only allowed to have up to three multiple rostered players. The player will need to complete the Classic Player Registration and Medical Authorization form, indicate where requested that they are playing on another team, and provide the requested information about the other team. Like all players, they also must provide a copy of an acceptable proof of age document and a hard copy photo with full name and team name on the back. Players are allowed to play on another team playing in the MSI Classic league as long as the teams play in different age groups or, in the case of female players, a different gender group. If a player on the team is in this position, inform your registrar and the MSI Classic Program Manager by and please copy the to the registrar of the other team s age group and the player s family. The player s family will then need to contact the Classic Program Manager, indicating which team will be considered the player s primary team and which will be considered the secondary team. Registrars will mark the player card of the secondary team with a multiple roster designation. If the player is on the roster of two MSI Classic teams (per the rules above), only the card of the secondary team will be marked as multiple rostered. (2) Players Requesting to Play Up 2 Years Classic players may not play up two years without first receiving permission from MSI. Parents of players requesting to play up two years must complete and sign the MSI Request for Exemption to Play Up Two Years form which can be found on the MSI website. This form must be submitted to the MSI Registration Administrator (classicreg@msisoccer.org) and approved before the player can be added to a team s roster. Players are not permitted to play up three years. Classic teams are limited to two players playing up two years. (3) Roster Limits for U15 Teams and Above. For U15 teams, MSI Classic allows up to 21 players on the roster. For U16 teams and above, MSI Classic allows up to 26 players on your roster. At any one game only 21 players may be dressed to play and the names of any additional players must be clearly deleted on the roster copy that is handed to the referee. No more than 3 multiple rostered players may be on the team s 26 player roster. (4) Registration Fees for Additions to Team Rosters. 8

MSI Classic league fees cover the original registration of up to 18 players for U13-U19 teams, up to 14 players for U11 and U12 teams, and up to 13 players for U10 teams (collectively the Initial Roster Limit ). For every player a team rosters over the Initial Roster Limit, it will need to include $16 in the form of a check made payable to MSI to cover the registration fee for that player. This fee is meant to include any players added at any time during the seasonal year, including players added after the release of a player that would otherwise bring the team s roster below the Initial Roster Limit. In other words, once a team reaches the Initial Roster Limit, it must pay an additional $16 fee for any player it adds to its roster. Additions to team rosters after the team has rostered the numbers specified as the Initial Roster Limit for its age group, no additional players will be added without the appropriate fee. For example, if a U12 team originally registers 14 players prior to the start of the fall season, and then releases a player between the fall and spring season and adds another player, that team would need to pay $16 to cover the addition of the new player. NOTE: A team would not need to pay $16, however, if the new player is transferring from an existing MSI Classic team and is already carded during the current seasonal year. (5) Tournaments Player cards issued by the MSI Classic League will be accepted at MSI s Cherry Blossom Classic. (Player cards are not required for the MSI Kickoff Classic.) Most, if not all, other MSYSA sanctioned tournaments will accept Classic cards but teams who wish to enter these events should contact MSI first for guidance. (Tournaments sanctioned by US Club may have requirements or limitations on participation by non-us Club teams. Be certain to check the rules of the tournament you wish to enter to ensure your team fulfills all eligibility requirements.) (6) Releases and Transfers Player releases and transfers are governed by MSI s Classic league rules and the MSI Classic Player Rights and Obligations. For a release or a transfer, the Parent of the player or a team official should download the Mid-Year Transfer/Release Form from the MSI website, found at under CLASSIC>REGISTRATION >PLAYERS AND ADULT OFFICIALS>MID YEAR TRANSFER/RELEASE FORM. The form does not need to be completed/submitted prior to the start of the fall season UNLESS the player has already been registered for the fall season to another team. The program transfer deadline should be considered in these instances. Releases The parent of the player or team releasing the player should complete the information in Section 1 of the Release/Transfer Form, and the parent 9

should complete and sign section 2 of the form. A team official (i.e., a manager or coach) should complete and sign section 3. If the player is being released and WILL NOT be playing the remainder of the seasonal year (August 1-July 31) on another Classic team, a team official must return the player s card AND the completed Mid-Year Transfer/Release Form to the teams registrar. When the release has been completed, the team registrar will send a confirmation to the team and the parent. When the release has been completed, the team registrar will send a confirmation to the team and the parent. The registrar will generate a new official roster for the team. With the exception of an injury or another extraordinary circumstance, a player who is released from a team may not be re-added to the releasing team for the duration of the current season. Transfers Transfers are primarily coordinated between teams with little involvement from the team registrar. If a player will be playing on another team in the MSI Classic League, the parent of the player or team releasing the player should complete the information in Section 1 of the Release/Transfer Form, and the parent should complete and sign section 2 of the form. A team official (i.e., a manager or coach) should complete and sign section 3. The Parent of the player should provide a team official for the new team with the contact information ( address or phone number) of the team official for the player s current team who is responsible for the transfer paperwork. A team official of the new team should contact the designated team official of the player s current (releasing) team to obtain the player s card, MSI Classic/US Club Medical Release Form and the completed Mid-Year Transfer/ Release Form. Complete section 4 on the Transfer/Release Form and submit to your registrar. Transfer players do not need to re-register in the Korrio player registration program. Once the player has been added to the new team s roster, the registrar will notify all parties that this has been completed and generate new official rosters for both teams. Note: A player s card is used for proof of age, and does not have to reflect the player s current team. The team roster is the official list of all players on a team. MSI does not change the team name on the card of a player who moves to a new team mid-season. 10

D. Deadlines for Submission of Registration Materials Teams must be aware of the following deadlines: August 8, 2017 All players and team officials registered in Korrio August 11: New teams and teams playing in pre-season tournaments must submit documents to registrars August 16, 2017 All materials submitted to registrar ** MSI acknowledges that teams may struggle to accomplish 100% registration by these dates and, if this is the case with your team, you are asked to submit the majority of materials that have been gathered by the deadline. Materials for late registering players should be submitted as soon as they are available. (Teams playing in the MSI Kickoff Classic do not need to present cards at the event.). Also note, August 8 is last day to complete transfer between any MSI program, e.g., a recreational team to a Classic team. Players who have registered in the Recreational program must submit a withdrawal request by this date to be eligible to be added to a Classic team roster. Players may be added to Classic rosters up to the sixth game of a team s schedule. Roster additions to your team should be completed in the same manner as new player registrations. If all paperwork gets to a registrar by the Wednesday prior, a registrar should be able to add a player to a roster in time for a Saturday game. You should contact your individual registrar for specific instructions on how your registrar can best complete this process for you.
