Has participated in the past two Flyers rookie camps in Voorhees, NJ : Reassigned to ADK on 1/10/ : Played with Phantoms in preseason training camp and then assigned to Trenton (ECHL) on 10/5/11. Recalled by Adirondack on 2/14/12 and made season AHL-debut in 2/14/12 game at Toronto. Game-winning goal in overtime on New Year s Eve against Albany : Scored 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in 76 games with the Phantoms. Led all Phantoms rookies in goals (18), while ranking third on the team. 16 of his 18 goals came in the final 48 games of the Phantoms season. 25 Terry Murray Head Coach NHL veteran coach Terry Murray begins his first season as head coach of the Adirondack Phantoms in Murray has coached 1,012 NHL games with Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington and Florida posting a career record of for a points percentage of.557. Murray is 19 th all-time in NHL history in regular season games coached and is 18 th all-time in total wins. He also has the most NHL coaching experience of any AHL head coach in the league s 76-year history. "We feel very fortunate to be able to bring Terry back to the Flyers organization as head coach of the Phantoms," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "Terry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, is an excellent teacher and a strong believer in the development process of young players." "I really appreciate the opportunity to come back to the Flyers organization and I'm really looking forward to the challenge that's out there of coaching the Phantoms," Murray said. "I m a hockey coach, I love to coach. When Paul presented it to me, in the way that he did coming back to the Flyers in particular was very exciting, and I feel like it s a great opportunity to work with young players and again, it s just a wonderful challenge and I m looking forward to it. Murray, 61, returns to the Flyers organization for his third tour of duty as a coach. He most recently worked in the Los Angeles Kings organization, where he was the head coach from the start of the season through December Prior to joining the Kings, Murray was a Flyers assistant coach for four seasons from , working first under Ken Hitchcock and later under John Stevens. He was the head coach of the Flyers for three seasons from 1994 through 1997, leading the Flyers to the 1997 Stanley Cup Final. He posted a record of in 212 games behind the bench in Philadelphia. In addition to his time with the Kings and Flyers, Murray has also served as the head coach of the Florida Panthers ( ) and the Washington Capitals ( ). Murray began his coaching career in 1983 as an assistant with the Capitals. After five seasons in that role, he earned his first head coaching job with Washington's American Hockey League affiliate, the Baltimore Skipjacks. He coached the club for 125 games over parts of two seasons from before being promoted to the Capitals head job halfway through the season. As a player, Murray appeared in 302 NHL games over parts of eight seasons from 1972 to He played 115 games for the Flyers and also saw action with the California Golden Seals, Detroit Red Wings, and the Washington Capitals. He also recorded 196 points in 363 AHL games during his playing career. Most of his AHL playing time was spent in the Flyers organization with their affiliates in Richmond ( ) and Maine ( ). Terry Murray is the younger brother of Bryan Murray who is the general manager of the Ottawa Senators. Bryan operated the player development and served as general manager of the Adirondack Red Wings in the early 1990 s when he was also the general manager and head coach for the Detroit Red Wings.
