2 CCHA KIDS COLLEGE CLASSIC IMPORTANT INFORMATION REMINDER Thank you for participating in the 2008 CCHA Kids College Classic. We hope you will enjoy your experience in the Tournament. Located below is information you will need if your team makes it to the Tournament Championship at Joe Louis Arena. Please make sure to go over the following information with both your team and your parents before arriving at Joe Louis Arena. Parking is available in the Riverfront Lot at Joe Louis Arena. There will be a $5 fee for parking. All players, family, and friends will enter Joe Louis Arena through the West Gate (media entrance) on the ground level. This entrance is located directly across from the Riverfront Lot. Please have all parents and spectators sit in the designated seating areas: Sections 121 and 122. Joe Louis Arena Rules and Regulations Please note that Joe Louis Arena is an NHL Arena with rules and regulations for security and liability purposes. All rules outlined below must be followed at all times while inside Joe Louis Arena. Anyone refusing to follow the following guidelines will be asked to leave the Arena. Only ROSTERED players, coaches, and managers will be allowed past the West Gate area and in the locker rooms. Coaches assume all responsibility for player equipment and dressing. Only players, coaches, and referees will be allowed on the ice surface and on the benches. Under no circumstances should anyone jump down from the stands onto the ice surface or into the players tunnels. All spectators should stay in the designated seating areas (Sections 121 and 122) at all times. Please do not roam around the arena, go into the upper bowl, climb or hang on railings, bang on the glass or go into the goal judge boxes. Joe Louis Arena would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation to ensure that the CCHA Kids College Classic is a fun and exciting event for all of the participants year after year. 4 TOURNAMENT FACT SHEET Game Schedule: Game Locations: Format: Awards: Check-in: Schedule: Rules: CCHA Awards: Games have been scheduled in an attempt to allow all participating teams to attend all CCHA Championship games. All round-robin games will be played at the Novi Ice Arena (Novi, MI) and Suburban Ice Farmington Hills. Championship Games will be played at Joe Louis Arena (Detroit, MI). All teams will play in a 3-game round-robin against the other teams in their division. The two highest-placing teams at the conclusion of the round-robin play will qualify to play in the Championship Game. Teams and individual medals will be presented to players and coaches on each championship team and finalist team. The presentation will take place immediately following the championship games on the ice at Joe Louis Arena. Please stop at the registration table at your scheduled arena to check-in before each game and pick up a locker room key. Each team member will also need to sign a scoresheet. Games will be scheduled to start at 8:00 am with the last games of the day starting at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 21 and from 7:30 am 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, with final games to be played at Joe Louis Arena from 10:00 am 1:10 pm on Sunday, March 23. Games for each team will be no less than 3.5 hours apart. USA Hockey rules will apply. USA Hockey and the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association sanction this tournament. There are no protests. Thirty tickets to the CCHA Awards on Thursday, March 20 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit are included in the cost of registration. If you require more tickets, please contact Courtney Welch at the CCHA at (248) to make the necessary arrangements. All tickets will be waiting under your manager s name at the check-in table at the Fox Theatre. Proper attire is required no denim, sweatpants, etc.

5 TOURNAMENT FACT SHEET-continued CCHA Championship Passes: Thirty passes to all CCHA Championship games are included in the cost of registration. These will be provided to you upon check-in on the first day of the tournament. If you need more than thirty passes for your team, additional passes are available for $14 each from Rachel Lupo at Joe Louis Arena by calling (313) Lost or stolen tickets WILL NOT be replaced. Hockeytown Café: Jerseys: People Mover: Questionnaires: Waivers: The popular Red Wings memorabilia restaurant located in downtown Detroit, Hockeytown Café, offers great group rates. Call Steve Davidson at (313) to set up a team meal. Please make sure to bring both light and dark-colored jerseys to all CCHA Kids College Classic games. If you want to avoid parking and traffic hassles when going to the CCHA Championship games on Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22, there is a People Mover station at both Joe Louis Arena and the Renaissance Center. Fare is.50 per ride, and the hours of operation are 7:00 am-midnight on Fridays and 9:00 am-midnight on Saturdays. Please complete the questionnaire included in this packet as soon as possible and mail, fax (248) or (cwelch@ccha.com) to Courtney Welch at the CCHA Office. We want to make sure we make the proper arrangements with each team, and this questionnaire will help us to do so. Please make the necessary additional copies of the waivers included in this packet of information, and have a parent/guardian of each player fill them out completely. We have provided 20 copies of each waiver with this manual. Waivers will also need to be filled out by coaches who will be on the bench. Note that there are two separate waivers one for Joe Louis Arena and the other for the tournament. These need to be mailed into Courtney Welch at the CCHA Office by Thursday, March 6, to ensure that everything is received and is in good order before you arrive in Detroit on Friday, March 21. Players and coaches without waiver forms WILL NOT be permitted to participate in the 2008 CCHA Kids College Classic.

6 TOURNAMENT FACT SHEET-continued KCC Finals at JLA: Arrival: Should your team advance to the final game at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday, March 23, you are to arrive at the rink no earlier than one hour before game time and no later than 30 minutes before game time. Enter Joe Louis Arena by using the West Gate entrance (see map). Once you are inside the building, a Joe Louis Arena representative will direct you. All parents, friends and family need to take the elevators to the second floor and sit in sections 121 & 122, which are behind the player benches. Only rostered players and team personnel will be permitted in the locker rooms, and coaches and players assume all responsibility for player equipment and dressing. After the game, please meet back at the west gate reception area to meet your players. Cameras: Personal video cameras and cameras are allowed at the games (professional video services and professional photographers are not), however the cameras must be taken out of the building before the college game starts. Open Skate at Joe Louis Arena: Rostered players and coaches from ALL teams registered for the CCHA Kids College Classic are invited to skate at Joe Louis Arena prior to the Kids College Classic Championship Games Sunday, March 23. The open skate runs from 9:00 am until 9:50 am. Parking for KCC Finals & Open Skate: Please park in the Riverfront Lot (see map at the back of this binder). You will be required to enter at the West Gate. There will be a $5 charge per car. Penalty Box Attendant: Each team must provide a rostered penalty box attendant (coach or manager) who has signed a waiver form. Please designate a penalty box attendant on the questionnaire included in this packet. Pictures: Teams advancing to the final game of their division will have the opportunity to have their team picture taken at center ice at Joe Louis Arena prior to their game. Each player can purchase a 5x7 for $6.00 (see form at the back of this binder). Managers should write one check for the total number of pictures desired made payable to the Detroit Red Wings. Forms must be submitted to Rachel Lupo at the Detroit Red Wings, c/o Joe Louis Arena, 600 Civic Center Drive, Detroit, MI or brought with you to your game at Joe Louis Arena. 10 Participant Waiver and Release I understand and agree that the Detroit Red Wings Youth Hockey Event at Joe Louis Arena (hereinafter Activity ) in which I am permitting my child to participate involves strenuous physical activities and should be engaged in only by persons in good health. I understand and agree that neither Olympia Entertainment, Inc. nor the Detroit Red Wings, Inc. instructors, nor their personnel, are qualified to determine my child s physical condition or health and that it is my responsibility to consult a physician prior to my child s participation in this Activity, or during the course of the Activity. I further understand and agree that my child may decline to participate in any particular activity or exercise which he/she feels is beyond his/her ability. I hereby agree, for myself and my child and our respective heirs, assigns and legal representatives, to hold Olympia Entertainment, Inc. and the Detroit Red Wings, Inc. and their respective officers, directors, board members, employees, agents, independent contractors and other participants in the Activity ( Releasees ) harmless from any and all claims and causes of action of any nature for any and all personal injury or illness, including death, which may occur to my child or which may be aggravated during or by any activity during the course of the Activity in which I have decided to allow my child to engage. I further waive any and all claims or causes of action which my child may now or hereafter have against Releasees which may at any time arise as a result of any act or thing occurring in or arising out of my child s participation in the Activity. I hereby grant full permission to the Detroit Red Wings, Inc. and/or Olympia Entertainment, Inc. to use my child s image and likeness for photos, motion pictures, TV, radio, recordings, videotapes, and other media known or unknown, and to use my child s image and likeness in any manner for publicity, promotions, advertising, trade or commercial purposes, without any reimbursement of any kind due to the undersigned or my child, or the need to pay the undersigned or my child any fee. I further expressly understand and agree that the foregoing release and waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of Michigan and that any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full force and effect. I represent that my child is covered under a qualified health and medical insurance plan. 11 2008 CCHA KIDS COLLEGE CLASSIC PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE In consideration of my participation in the 2008 CCHA Kids College Classic, I hereby release and discharge the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (hereinafter referred to as CCHA ), Suburban Sports Group (hereinafter referred to as SSG ), Novi Ice Arena (hereinafter referred to as NIA ), Suburban Ice Farmington Hills (hereinafter referred to as SIFH ), Michigan Education Savings Program (hereinafter referred to as MESP ), TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as TFI ), Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund (hereinafter referred to as TIAA-CREF ) and other sponsors of this event together with their agents, employees, officers, owners, volunteers and all other participants forward on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs and assigns as follows: 1. I acknowledge that the sport of hockey involves known and unknown risks, which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to participants, to myself, to property or to third parties and that such risks simply cannot be eliminated. To that end, I further acknowledge that CCHA, SSG, NIA and SIFH are not responsible for a participant s fitness, abilities or the equipment being used. 2. I acknowledge and agree to accept and assume any and all of the risks attendant to this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary and I elect to participate notwithstanding the risks. 3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless CCHA, SSG, NIA and SIFH from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of CCHA, SSG, NIA and SIFH equipment or facilities whether on or off the ice and, including any claims which allege negligent acts or omissions on the part of CCHA, SSG, NIA, SIFH, MESP, TFI, TIAA-CREF and other sponsors of this event. 4. In the event CCHA, SSG, NIA SIFH, MESP, TFI, TIAA-CREF and other sponsors of this event or anyone acting on their behalf is required to incur attorney s fees and costs to enforce this Agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs. 5. I certify that I have adequate insurance coverage for any injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, and I agree to bear any and all costs of such injury or damage. I further certify that I have no medical or physical conditions, which could interfere with my safety in this activity, and I am willing to assume all risks and costs that may result, directly or indirectly, from any such condition. 6. Gather up your team and celebrate your experience playing on the Wings home ice with the following meal: KIDS BUFFET Tossed Salad Roasted Chicken Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce Hot Dogs Chips & Pretzels Pop The menu above would be served buffet-style at $11 per player or child under 14 and $15 per adult. This price includes a semi-private area in Hockeytown Café, 6% tax and an applicable gratuity, and transportation from Joe Louis Arena. Please provide a count for kids and adults when booking. Ask about bringing a cake or adding on more menu items. No substitutions please. After your dinner, while you are waiting for our shuttle to take you to the game, enjoy the unique and exciting atmosphere, which has proven to be a winner with Red Wings fans. In essence, Hockeytown Café is a Hall of Fame for the Red Wings including memorabilia and one-of-a-kind artwork throughout the building. Please book your event at least three weeks in advance; we would secure it with a signed reservation agreement and a non-refundable 50% deposit based on your maximum number of guests. Join the CCHA in honoring the outstanding achievements of the players and coaches of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association at the CCHA Awards presentation held Thursday, March 20th. This event is held at the beautiful and historic Fox Theatre in Downtown Detroit, directly across from Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. The CCHA Awards is an Academy Awards-type affair with music videos, video highlights and special award presentations. The social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available and light hors d oeurves will be served. The Awards Program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Additional banquet tickets will be provided complimentary. The Fox Theatre is located at 2211 Woodward Avenue next to the Hockeytown Cafe. It is located between Woodward Avenue and Park, just south of I-75 (Fisher Freeway). Entrances are on the Fisher Freeway Service Drive and Montcalm. Please see the following page for directions. Attire We welcome all players, coaches and their families to this special event. Please keep in mind, however, that business attire is appropriate dress for this occassion. Attendees wear sport coats/dresses/ business suits and award recipients wear tuxedos. Please make certain that everyone is dressed accordingly.

18 CCHA Awards Directions to Fox Theatre The Fox Theatre is located at 2211 Woodward Avenue next to Second City and the Hockeytown Cafe. The Fox Theatre is located on Woodward Avenue, just south of I-75 (Fisher Freeway). Entrances are on the Fisher Freeway Service Drive and Montcalm. From southwest Detroit, Toledo, and downriver suburbs: Follow northbound I-75 (Fisher Freeway) past Tiger Stadium to the Grand River Avenue exit. Proceed on the Fisher Freeway service drive across Grand River Avenue. The Fox Parking structure entrance will be on the right. From Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Inkster, Wayne and western suburbs: Follow eastbound 1-94 (Ford Freeway) to eastbound I-96 (Jeffries Freeway). Proceed to northbound I-75 (Fisher Freeway) and exit at the Grand River Avenue exit. Proceed on the Fisher Freeway service drive across Grand River Avenue. The Fox Parking structure entrance will be on the right. From Lansing, Livonia, Westland, Redford Township and northern Wayne and western Oakland County, suburbs: (From the Lansing area, take I-96 east to I-275 south).
