Boomer is sired by the breed leading Saskvalley Ramrod 155R and has two full brothers working in purebred herds. His dam is from the prolific Lady Lomond cow family. On the dam s side of 12C are the Maid s that have been top end producers in our herd. Crimson Maid 12C had a light 78 lb birth weight and Theodore is a trait leader for birth weight and calving ease in Australia. This heifer can be traced right back to Clipper by Billy born in 1845, a foundation cow in Amos Crickshanks Sittyton herd in Scotland. The Clipper s are still an influential cow family 170 years later. The Dottie s are always our stand out producers and we reluctantly part with 17C. This heifer is bred to Crooked Post Drover 28C a son of Crooked Post Stockman 4Z. Drover is out of the exceptional Waukaru Lassie 334 and is a herd sire at Hatfield Shorthorns. Drover had an 85 lb BW, a 800 WW and an 1130 lb yearling weight and is in the top half of the breed for all EPD traits. 2

Diamond 61D is a carbon copy of her mother who is one of our best brood cows. This calf has tremendous potential to follow in her dam s footsteps. We have kept several daughters off of Six S Vanessa in our own herd. In the All Star Classic in 2014, Starbright Shorthorns took her half-sister home. This is the best white heifer on the farm this year and that says a lot since we did have several white calves. 8
