2 Shuey Stock Farms Inc. is a cattle and farming operation with ranches in Tecumseh, Neb. and Corning, Iowa. We currently run 400+ head of cows, featuring 50 head of purebred Red Angus and Simmental and 350 head of Red Angus-, Simmentaland South Devon- cross commercial cows. The Simmental herd was started in In 1989, Red Angus genetics were added followed by South Devon in Our family has been farming and raising cattle on the same land in Nebraska since Though we ve been fortunate to raise and show many outstanding individuals in the ten years we ve been exhibiting Red Angus cattle, that s never been our primary goal. Our main focus is, and will always be, to provide breeding bulls and commercial females that we can use in our own herd. We have always strived to produce functional, yet eye appealing breeding stock that perform well in the pasture and feedlot. We collect carcass data on more than 2000 head of our own home-raised cattle. This gives us a unique opportunity to select and breed females and bulls that will work in the real world, rather than chasing popular trends. The females featured in this catalogue are the result of 25 years breeding and selecting Red Angus genetics for use within our own herd. They have proven to be successful, not only in the show ring, but in the pasture and feedlot as well. The individuals featured in this catalog are the very best that our herd has to offer. They have been selected for their phenotype, fertility, structural soundness, carcass traits and temperament. Embryo packages and progeny on many of these females will be available on upcoming consignment sales, at our bull sale in March and also by private treaty. 3 ,, Winner of Two National Gridmaster Awards,, Our focus is and always will be, producing functional, eye appealing cattle that perform both in the pasture and in the feedlot. While our purebred herd is often the most visible aspect, the heart and soul of our operation lies within our commercial cowherd. In the past 20 years we have collected carcass data on over 2000 head. This data is some of the most valuable information we have. It allows us to establish a commercial cowherd with predictable performance standards that are second to none. We expect our steers to go to harvest at thirteen months of age or less, weigh 1300 pounds, grade 80 percent or better choice and prime and have fewer than 7 percent yield grade 4 s. This is all done without creep feed. Finding and breeding these genetics is not easy. Finding and breeding these genetics in an eye-appealing package is even harder. These performance expectations have not gone unnoticed. The demand for our red two and three way cross commercial heifers has been tremendous. We welcome visitors at anytime. Many people are impressed at our purebred cattle. However, most people are even more impressed when looking through our commercial cowherd.

Our family was part of the syndicate that purchased one half interest in Code Red for $76,000 at Pieper s sale a few years ago. Due to an early death and very limited semen supply, Code Red s daughters are especially rare and valuable s dam is also a leading donor in our lineup. Daisey 8708 was the 2009 Reserve Champion Female at the Iowa State Fair. This female is at the center of our purebred program. 6 MNS Chloe 3760 National Champion Bred & Owned Female, 2014 Fort Worth REG # is the granddaughter to the 2009 Reserve Supreme Champion Female at the Iowa State Fair, Daisy The sire of 3760 is Brown Premier X7876. This bull was purchased for $66,000 for half interest in 2011 and we purchased the only units of semen released by R.A. Brown Ranch into the market as of January 1, Genetics out of this great bull are extremely rare and his progeny are sought after. His EPD profile ranks him in the top five percent of the breed in almost every category. Combine this with an attractive phenotype, and you can see why we are excited to be experiencing the mere beginning of what his progeny can do. With a background of success and outstanding EPD profile, the opportunity for 3760 to produce herd sires is strong. Her sire (Brown Premier X7876), grandsire (PIE Code Red), and great grand sire (PIE Get-R-Done) had one half semen interest in them sell for more than $65,000. A distinguished sire and dam combination will allow 3760 to genetically raise the bar. Her spread from BW to WW and performance, combined in such an attractive, threedimensional package is very tough to come by. Because of this, R. A. 9 National Champion Female, 2008 Junior Show REG # Duettes Summertime 672S (Fergie) 672S Fergie is one of the most atypical females we have seen in the Red Angus breed. The power and stoutness she possesses is very hard to find in a Red Angus female. At every show we attended, Fergie was the female that was either going to walk away with the champion title as a breed-changing type of female, or be safe in the third place spot as the different female in the group. She was sired by Glacier Chateau 744. He is one of the most influential King Rob sons to ever be a part of the Red Angus breed. The number of breed changing bulls and females that these two bulls influenced over their lifetime is incredible, and Fergie is no exception. The offspring we have retained have become extremely productive purebred females. The muscling and bone that they have to offer make them very useful for any herd looking to improve on those traits. Her power, body and structural correctness has made her a favorite of many was the leadoff female of our 2013 showstring. Her dam, Sofie X073, has clearly marked 7152 with that same softness and rib dimension that she presents. Both mother and daughter are beautiful in appearance, wide based and bold sprung. They also offer that size that is needed for a cow to be a multi-functional breeding tool. This powerhouse PIE Code Red Daughter has two of the most successful Red Angus sires in her extended pedigree. With LJC Javelin as her maternal grandsire and Game Plan on the paternal side, this combination on paper is just as exciting as 7152 is in person. She is the result of two of the greatest pedigrees in the Red Angus breed. 13 Homerun progeny, year in and out REG # holds a special place in our heart. Quite a few years back we got a call from Travis Pieper saying he had a great one. He wanted us to promote this female in the ring and then turn her into a leading donor cow for both of our programs. When we saw her at the sale we knew he was right. She was high selling female in their fall sale and remains the highest selling female to leave the Pieper program. Lakota 7144 Sired by PIE Get Western and crossed with the great Lakota family in her pedigree makes 7144 a valuable breeding piece for our purebred herd. Lakota females are becoming harder to come by as the years go on, as the demand for this pedigree only increases due to their high potential. This female has been the centerpiece of our purebred herd for many years now. She is almost flawless structurally with plenty of muscle, bone and foot size to continually raise some of the best. At age seven, off stalks, she still possesses that look in a cow that knows she is good! 7144's first calf, MNS Dinero was Calf Champion Bull in Denver in 2010 and then a week later was Reserve Overall Champion Bull in Fort Worth, and was later sold to Wildcat Creek Ranch in Kansas. Trueblood was the dominate 2010 National Champion Red Angus bull in Denver was one of the most eye-catching females we have ever shown as a calf.
