1 Thornbury 10k Thursday 12 TH July Marshalling arrangements and timetable rrival at the Rugby lub Please arrive at the Rugby lub in good time, and let the hief Marshal (Kev undy ) know you have arrived. You should also collect a Marshal s bib. Please bring your mobile phone with you, and ensure that your number is correctly shown on the sheet attached to the Organisation Document, or is given to the hief Marshal. Going Direct to your marshalling point If you intend to go direct to your marshalling position, make sure you let the hief Marshal know beforehand, and text him when you are on station (one text for each location will be fine). You will need to make arrangements with the hief Marshal to collect a ib. The hief Marshal s mobile no. is [Kev undy bibs will be at Rugby lub or pick up from Ros before hand] rrive at the marshalling points in good time Some marshalling points are up to 5k from the Rugby lub so you will have to be sure that you set off in good time to arrive well before the first runners, and in time to check with your fellow marshals (where applicable) who takes up which position. Location of the marshalling points plan is attached showing exactly where the marshalling points are. Please study it beforehand. Your role Most important, please encourage the runners as they go by, just as you would expect to be encouraged yourself. Thornbury Running lub has a great reputation for the enthusiasm of, and the encouragement offered by our marshals a reputation we want to maintain. Please be aware that marshals have no powers to stop traffic, so use discretion (and a smile) if you need to advise a driver to slow down or wait, and offer thanks to those who do. Marshals have an important safety role. Please report any incidents to the Race Director [Ros Rowland ,Kev undy Dave eard ] Health and safety The First id support for the race (Severn mbulance) will be based at the Rugby lub. Your contact in the event of an accident/incident near you is the Race Director on [ ROS ON ROD]. Where necessary she will liase with Severn mbulance, who will immediately determine the best course of action to take. 2 Thornbury 10k Water Station instructions There is a water station at the 5k-point (38) and another at the finish. Procedure The hief, Ros Rowland will ensure that the equipment listed below is delivered in good time to each water station (though he may ask for your help). 2 table 3 water containers (pre-sterilised and filled) 2 jugs 600 cups 3 rubbish sacks Disposable gloves 4 reflective bibs, 2 litres of orange squash concentrate (38 only) Your role - 38 team Fast runners expected by around 7.45pm so please be ready in good time! Set up table on Sundayshill Lane somewhere just after the turn off the 38, ideally near the lay-by where the houses are set back. Fill as many cups as will fit on the table, 50% water, 50% weak orange squash. Offer to all runners but allow access to the table so they can also collect their own Keep the flow of filled cups going to avoid runners having to wait ollect discarded cups (including those dropped further along the lane) using rubbish sacks fter the follow vehicle has passed, clear up and leave equipment and sacks neatly ready for collection Your role - Finish team Some of the team may have other duties at the start, and will join the others to set up as soon as they are free. Set up the table well clear of the funnel to avoid congestion Water sponsored by Optimus, ottles of water put on tables for finishers to take MEDLS To be given out to all runners when finishing thanks to everyone for helping with this.

Marshal to ensure runners stay on the (quite narrow) footpath, away from busy 38 Marshal to direct runners to stay on the pavement and not cut the corner on the grass by corner of wall. lso and tell runners to keep right until past the houses, and check that aution Runners sign for vehicles exiting the Prison is in place.
