RACE MATERIAL If you have paid the entry fee before May 27th you ll receive a race number and participant guide beforehand via mail (in Finland). Otherwise they will be available to pick up from the starting area.

2 5. CANCELLATION If you have to cancel your participation please inform after the event because our office is busy during the event week. Only exceptation is Pirkka Tour 217 km average speed group members. The quick information of cancellation is appreciated as there are usually queues to the speed groups. A participant cancelling the entry because of an illness, is entitled to a refund (-8,50 office fee). A medical certificate must be provided to us within 2 weeks of the event. It is also possible to transfer the entry fee to the next year s event. It s also possible to move your participation to the Night Cycling on June 15th. Please inform after the main event. 6. BEFORE THE EVENT LIVE TRACKING WITH RACEMAP Due to the Racemap App for iphone and Android live tracking is easy for you and your friends. We suggest to write all the important phone numbers to the back of your race number or save them to your mobile phone. Please remember to check your equipment and the condition of your bike. Beware the sudden changes in temperature. Finnish summer is sometimes made of unpleasent shivering surprises. 7. EVENT LOCATION The start and finish areas are located at Hakametsä Ice Hockey Hall (Keltinkatu 2, Tampere). Parking Parking is possible at the sand field on the left side of the ice hockey hall. Traffic wardens are present to help and guide with parking. Disabled parking is available at the front of the ice hockey hall ticket office. Race office and late entries The race office is inside the ice hockey hall near the starting point. Clothes and other belongings can also be stored there. The race office is open on Saturday June 9th 3 PM 7 PM and Sunday morning starting from 7 AM. Dressing rooms and showers You ll find dressing rooms and showers at the downstairs of ice hockey hall. There is also an elevator available at the back of the ice hockey hall. More information at the race office. Juice and sports drink service; Squeezy Energy Drink Before the start you can fill your own bottle with Squeezy energy drink. Technical service Available at the starting point during the event day from 7 AM.

3 Kauppahallin Kotiruoka serves before and after the race. Coffee, tea and snack are available to buy from 7 AM. After crossing the finish line soup lunch is served. The soup lunch is included in the participation fee. Other lunch options available for sale. 8. STARTING ORDER AND TIME SCHEDULE At the starting line participants with a bigger race numbers can t pass the ones with smaller. 4 9. ROUTES Pirkka Tour 214 km ja Classic 134 km routes start from Hakametsä Ice Hockey Hall and the route goes via Hervannan valtaväylä and Kekkosentie to the Rantaväylä tunnel. The lane on the right is reserved for the bicycle racers. Traffic wardens are taking care of the security and quide the cars to the left lane. The speed limit is also lowered during the event. Passing and stopping is forbidden in the tunnel. The route is marked with red and white Pirkan Pyöräily signs and yellow Pirkan Pyöräily plastic ribbon. Some of the Pirkka Pyhä s route signs are also sprayed on the ground. Pirkka Tour and Classic routes are mainly ridden on the right side of the road. Pirkka Pyhä and The Little One use mainly cycling and walking paths. Special notices on the routes: There are some special features on the Pirkka Tour 217 km. 34 km/h speed group will differ from the main route and do an extra round in Parkano (the total lenght is 255 km). Speed groups 32A and 30A will go via Karhentie and return via Viitapohja (the total lenght is 217 km). Classic and Pirkka Tour: After the Rantaväylä Tunnel there will be a penalty loop. The cyclists are quided to the ramp leading to the center of the city. Then after making a U-turn at the Santalahti Harbour s overpass bridge the route continues via the lane on the right side of the road back to Paasikiventie. Pirkka Tour: Due the road works the Maisematie at Hämeenkyrö is not available so the road will go from Siuron valtatie to Ilveskalliontie and Jumesniementie. Classic ja Pirkka Tour: There are two road works on the Terälahdentie. The final route will be decided right before the main event. Please check out latest information from the website! Pirkka Pyhä s route goes counterclockwise Pirkka Pyhä route won t go through the Rantaväylä Tunnel this time. The route goes from Hakametsä to Hervannan valtaväylä and then via Kekkosentie to Ranta-Tampella, Santalahti and Pispalan Uittotunneli. The route then continues along the Pyhäjärven Maisemareitti to Hatanpää. The route back to finish line will go via Viinikka and Iidesjärvi. Please make sure to check out the route map at the website! The route s surface is partly gravel. Especially on the Pirkkala area the route will pass through living streets and park roads. Some parts are marked with sprayed signs on the road along with red and white road signs and yellow ribbon. Please follow all the traffic rules. There are no privileges for participants. On the traffic lights please wait for the green light. 10. DURING THE ROUTE All the important phone numbers If your bike is broken or you are not able If you quit the race but don t need to continue the race, please call any transportation, please call the race office

5 The number is for technical and transportation service. Please prepare to wait for long time. There are also service points during the route ready to help. All the repair work is free and only parts used for repairing will cost. For serious accidents please call 112 and inform race office Behind the last participants there will be a service car / cyclist collecting the signs and taking care of participants not able to continue. If you differ from the route make sure you won t let the service car pass you. There are eight (8) service points in Pirkka Tour, Classic contains five (5) and Pirkka Pyhä one (1). The participants of The Little One will get little lunch bags from the race office. The service points offer drink and energy goodies. The Pirkka Tour also contains a lunch service at Komi. Menu can be found from the website. Please ask for gluten free and veggie options. All the service points feature a member with first aid skills. The service points at Komi and Murole are on the left side of the road. Please be careful to enter these service points. Remember to leave all your trash to the trash cans at the service points. As the number of participants is high we want to make sure. The participants have no privileges when it comes to traffic rules. Please remember to: Keep the safe distance Follow the guides and information from the police and traffic wardens Always be careful when cycling on the right side of the road Using helmet is required Using colourful clothes or safety vest is always a good idea You re taking part at your own risk Personal service cars Using own service cars is not recommended. If still needed you can drive your car to following service points: Pirkka Tour; Hämeenkyrö (Frantsilan Kehäkukka, Yrjö Koskisen tie 1) and Komi (Päivölän juhlatulo, Komintie 215). The best place for own service car on Classic is Muroleen Kylätalo (Muroleen kanavantie 84). Other service points have no extra parking spaces. The service points in Kuru and Terälahti are located on the left side of the road and we ask to avoid any unnecessary car traffic on those locations. 11. AFTER CROSSING THE FINISH LINE Your race will be registered by reading the bar code of your race number. The champion cyclists can found the bar code on their number plate. All participants crossing the finish line will receive a Pirkan Pyöräily medal. Those who have taken part 20 times will be honored as Champions and they ll get a special red race number. Those with 10 times under their belt can buy a special golden medal (9 euros). Five timers can buy a silver medal (7 euros). Instead of Pirkan Pyöräily medal you can choose to get free coffee and sweet roll at Kauppahallin Kotiruoka.

6 Lottery between participants All the lottery prizes can be seen at the race office. After crossing the finish line make sure to check out if you have won. The lottery prize is available to claim only during the event day. At the area of starting point you ll find the exhibition displays by Turva, Tampereen Seudun Aivovammayhdistys, Martekman, Biltema, Rose Bike and Premium Sport. The race office sells Pirkan Pyöräily merchendise. Remember to enjoy your free soup lunch at Kauppahallin Kotiruoka. The results can be found at the official Pirkan Kierros website a week after the event. 12. OTHER IMPORTANT Accident insurance by Turva takes care if accidents will happen during the event. To guarantee your insurance the medical treatment must start in two weeks after the accident. We recommend to have an insurance for you bike. If an accident takes place please contact the race office at the event location or Pirkan Kierros office at Lindforsinkatu 5, Tampere. The event is photographed by Sportfoto. All the material will be uploaded to the private gallery after the event. To see and buy your photos you ll need to register at sportfoto.com. The photos are not public. The link to Sportfoto with instructions will be found at Pirkan Kierros website soon after the event. Pirkka Tour (217 km) and Classic (134 km) are part of Tour de Pirkka.
