We ask that you read all the details outlined in this race information pack prior to the race and familiarise yourself with the course and the rules.

2 01 Welcome and Intro Welcome to the Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run We must thank the Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Police, RTA and Dubai Municipality for their help and support in pulling this race together. We ask that you read all the details outlined in this race information pack prior to the race and familiarise yourself with the course and the rules. Please also make sure you attend the compulsory race briefing, as it is sometimes necessary for last minute changes to be made. That is also your opportunity to ask any questions. Please note the race info pack will be updated in some cases so ensure you have read the latest version, please also follow us on the RaceME Events Facebook page where we will also communicate any updates. 6 05 Directions & Parking Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run 2019 is taking place along the Dubai Canal. There is plenty of car parking available close to the start and finish area. Coming from Dubai/ Abu Dhabi on Sheik Zayed Road please exit either onto D71 or Meydan Road in direction Jumeirah until you reach Al Wasl Road. Enter Al Urouba Road down to Jumeirah Beach Road and drive in direction Abu Dhabi until you see the sign posts for OIC Bupa Dubai Canal Run sign posts. To ensure parking space for all participants, kindly follow instructions of the car park marshalls. You can collect your race pack 2 days prior to the Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run Event.

You will find your race number displayed on the information boards addressing the collection zone for your race pack. Pick up your registration drawstring bag from the RaceME officials.

7 Registration Feb :00-10:00AM 5:00-9:00 PM Race Briefing 6:55AM (designated briefing area within the athlete s village) There will be compulsory race briefings at 6:55am (5& 10km) and 8:25am (1km). Please attend this as any last minute changes will be discussed and any questions answered. You can collect your race pack 2 days prior to the Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run Event. Please follow the signage towards the Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run race registration area. You will find your race number displayed on the information boards addressing the collection zone for your race pack. Pick up your registration drawstring bag from the RaceME officials. Your bag will contain: Timing System Race Number & Timing Chip Timing antennas will be positioned at the start & finish line. We ll endeavour to provide you with all your timing details, but this is not guaranteed. Very occasionally, a timing chip may not be read or a timing antenna may fail and timing may not be available. You ll receive a total finish time providing we can see your race number when you cross the finish line. If you withdraw during the event please tell a marshal at the timing tent, otherwise we will think you are still out there racing! A race number containing the timing chip must be clearly visible on your front for the run. Please use an elastic race belt or safety pins for your race number. Each run will start with a different colour race number. Please make sure the colour of the race bib in your race pack matches the colour shown on the information board. It is compulsory to wear these numbers. Race Results You can leave your personal items at the bag drop area inside the athlete s village. Please make sure your Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run draw string bag has your race number clearly written on it. Bags can be collected after Oman Insurance Company & Bupa Global Canal Run is completed. Please note that we can not take any responsiility for your personal belongings. A set of results will be available on our website as soon as possible after the event. We hope they ll all be perfect but any queries relating to them should be ed to us by the Tuesday after the event, after which time all results will be deemed as final and complete. Bag drop area 06

8 Terms & Conditions Start Zone Please make sure you transfer to the starting zone of your race at least 10 mins prior to starting time. There will be sign boards clearly indicating the respective zones. Kindly follow the instructions of the race officials. Run Zone A shirt must be worn at all times. No ipods or similar headphone devices allowed. Race numbers must be worn on your front during the run. Terms & Conditions The terms and conditions of entry are set out on our website at /race-tc. In entering this event, competitors have agreed to abide with these terms and conditions. Transfer of Entries Transfer of your entry to another person may only be done until the date of the close of registration for the event. Changes must be ed to us info@raceme.ae or done through premiere online depending on your registration platform. On Premier Online select the Transfer Registration option in the Transactions section of your profile manager to do so. You need to know the address of the person you are transferring your entry to. Withdrawal Policy We allow athletes to withdraw from an event. Changes must be ed to us info@raceme.ae or done through premiere online depending on your registration platform. If you decide to do so, PO only give you the option to have your race registration fee credited to your PO profile. This must be done no later than 7 days prior to the published close of registration, and is accessed through the Transactions section of your profile manager under the Cancel/Credit a Registration section. PO charges a processing fee of AED 30 to process this withdrawal and online credit. 07

12 Medical Advice UAE CLIMATE It is essential that you are aware of the weather conditions during the race. It is expected to be hot with very little, if any, shade.

If you start to get headaches, feel dizzy and nauseous then you may be suffering from heat exhaustion and need to seek medical advice. Listen to your body.

13 12 Medical Advice UAE CLIMATE It is essential that you are aware of the weather conditions during the race. It is expected to be hot with very little, if any, shade. We will have ambulances on standby throughout the duration of the race but you must take care to race sensibly in such conditions. If you start to get headaches, feel dizzy and nauseous then you may be suffering from heat exhaustion and need to seek medical advice. Listen to your body. Talk to the nearest volunteer who will be able to help you get attention. The common symptoms of heat exhaustion include: confusion, muscle cramps, heavy sweating, headaches, nausea/vomiting and dizziness. If you become aware of these symptoms then seek medical help. Sufficient Hydration Please stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to the race and remember to continue to take on fluids on the morning before the race start. During the run try to take on board about 500ml of fluids per hour. There will be water available from aid stations but please make sure you drink sufficient fluids before starting the race Sun Lotion Please make sure to protect yourself from the sun.
