Please check the entry list to find out your number (a printed list will be available on the day at the registration centre). Allow plenty of time in case of queues. Your timing chip will be fixed to the reverse side of your race number. Please ensure that your race number is securely fastened, and fully visible, on the front of your running top at all times during the race. Please be sure to complete the emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number. Your chosen hoody size will be marked on the front of your race number and you will not be able to change this for a different size. TRANSFERS You can transfer your entry to another competitor up until the closing date 19/11/17. For further info, please visit the SI Entries website, at the below address and see the Substituting a Participant section: Please note: Transfers will not be available on the day. Refunds will not be available and you cannot defer your entry to a future event. BAGGAGE There will be a baggage drop facility available at The Arc (Registration/ Start location). Bags will then be moved to the Finish for collection at the Clowne Community Centre. All bags are left at the owners responsibility and we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by the use of these facilities. WEATHER Due to the time of year that the event takes place, we can expect a variety of conditions on the day. The safety of competitors is our number one priority, and the event may be subject to cancellation if, for any reason, conditions are deemed to be unsafe. No refunds will be given in the event of a cancellation. FUN RUN Once the Half Marathon race is under way, family and friends are invited to head across to the Clowne Community Centre (the Finish location of the Half Marathon) to take part in the fun run. Entry is 2.00 per person, all participants will receive a medal. Entries for the Fun Run are only available on the day. THE COURSE The start will be organised into assembly zones based on your expected finish time. Please use the zone that will be best suited to your finish time and overall pace to ensure an easy and efficient start to the race. The zones will be as follows: Sub 1:30 / 1:30-1:45 / 1:45-2:15 / 2:15 and over The 2017 Clowne Half Marathon follows the new route that was used last year. The main changes to previous years is that the starting location is now at The Arc Sports Centre in Clowne. We have also amended the route from approx. mile 11 onwards. In previous years the route would continue from Whitwell Common along the A619 past Van Dyke s Hotel. For safety reasons, we have changed this part of the course to take you along Gapsick Lane and back to the Finish at Clowne Community Centre along quieter and partially closed roads. There will be drinks stations at miles 3, 7, 11 (approx.) and marshals at regular points along the course. SAFETY The Half Marathon route runs on a mixture of open and closed public roads and footpaths. Please ensure that you pay attention to all instructions from marshals, police and signage. Use footpaths when available and stay to the left hand side when on any roads, unless specifically instructed otherwise by signage and/or marshals. The course is designed to be enjoyable but can also be challenging in places. Please ensure that you are fit and in good health before taking part. If you find yourself experiencing any problems during the race, please report to a marshal as soon as possible. First aid will be provided by St. John Ambulance. We will have a sweeper bus travelling behind the last runners. Anyone that is struggling to continue at any point can leave the race via the sweeper bus. Under UKA Rules of Competition, headphones are not permitted and anyone found wearing headphones during the event will be disqualified. RESULTS & PHOTOS Results will be published on the Clowne Road Runners website: and UK Results website: Your free race photo will be available to download via the Clowne Road Runners website. Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for further info after the event. PRIZES The event is part of the Derbyshire County Championship. Please visit and derbyshireathletics.org.uk to view the championship rules and guidelines. Trophies will be awarded across the age categories to all those who are eligible. A momento will be awarded, along with 100, 70 and 50 of Up and Running vouchers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively for both men and women s races. 30 of vouchers will be awarded for age category prize winners (Male: 40+, , 70+. Female: 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+). There will also be a team prize and spot prizes. The prize presentation will take place at approx. 12pm at Clowne Community Centre.
