2 EVENT NARRATIVE The Swissôtel Vertical Marathon returns on Sunday, 25 November Witness world-class competition at its peak as you and more than 2,200 other participants blaze up 1,336 steps over 73 storeys in the shortest time possible. Soaring at a height of 226 metres as one of Southeast Asia s tallest hotels, Swissôtel The Stamford has been the site for Asia s pioneer and most challenging Vertical Marathon since its inauguration in

7 RACE ENTRY PACK COLLECTION Date : Saturday, 17 November 2018 Time : 9.30am pm Venue : TripleFit, 9 Raffles Boulevard #02-63, Millenia Walk Singapore The race pack contains a Swissôtel Vertical Marathon T-shirt, race bib and other awesome products from our event sponsors! Simply present your NRIC/Passport for identification as well as an e-copy of your confirmation slip when collecting your race pack. You may authorise someone to collect your race pack on your behalf if you are unable to do so on 17 November The authorised person must bring along the following documents: The completed authorisation letter His/her identification card A print-out of the participant s confirmation and A photocopy of the participant s identification card Important Note: We will not be able to issue race packs without a valid form of identification (i.e.: NRIC/Passport) 07

Bibs must be worn on the front of your shirt and secured with the safety pins provided. Baggage Deposit Date : Sunday, 25 November 2018 Time : 5.00am pm Venue : Fullerton Room Level 4, Raffles City Convention Centre Each participant is only allowed to deposit one bag no larger than 47.0 x 27.0 x 18.0 cm for purchased baggage deposit. You can also pay for baggage deposit services on the day of the event if you did not manage to purchase it during registration and REPC. Important Note: Purchased baggage deposit is available at S$5 per person and is on a first-come-first-served basis. 09

13 HALF VERTICAL MARATHON If you are taking part in the Swissôtel Half Vertical Marathon, proceed to Blundell Room on Level 4. If you are taking part in the Buddies & Besties Half Vertical Marathon, proceed to Clark Room on Level 4. You are advised to report at least 10 minutes before your flag off time to ensure sufficient preparation time before the race. You will then be ushered up to Level 42 where your race will begin. Blundell Room and Clark Room on Level 4 can be accessed via the shopping mall s escalators. 13

14 VERTICAL CHALLENGE introduces an all new category this year - The Under Armour Vertical Challenge. Be prepared for an intense full body workout to test your speed, strength and endurance. Participants are required to complete the following exercises in sequence: LEVEL 1 LEVEL 71 Mountain Climbers (15 reps) 1x left + 1x right = 1 Rep Commando Planks (15 reps) 1x left + 1x right = 1 Rep Slam Ball (15 reps) Agility Ladder (1 round) Slalom Drill (1 round) Those who are unable to complete the required number of reps will incur a 90 seconds time penalty for each exercise. Important Note: In the event of inclement weather, the finish point will be relocated to Level 69, and the Level 71 stations will be closed down. 14

18 KEY NOTES Please be punctual and report 10 minutes before the flag off time. If you are late, you will not be entitled to the prizes and may not be able to participate in the event. The Organiser reserves the right to change the flag off time for any categories should circumstance demands it. In the event of inclement weather, the Event Owner and Event Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the Event or amend the route to the finish point without prior notice to Participants. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay in start timings, the Event Owner and Event Organiser reserves the right to cancel the Event without any refund of registration fee. Participants must furnish details on the reverse side of the assigned Event Bib accurately. If there is an emergency, the Event Organiser and medical personnel will contact the next-of-kin identified on the Event Bib. For safety reasons, Participants have to be equipped with proper footwear and are advised to dress lightly on Event day. Participants will not be allowed to start if they are in their slippers, crocs or any other footwear deemed unsuitable by The Organiser during the Event. Any team member who fails to complete or adhere to the requirements will result in the disqualification of the team. 18
