4 LYSEFJORDEN INN ULTRAMARATHON FROM RACELEADER Lysefjorden is a Norwegian fjord located in Forsand municipality in Rogaland county and is 42km long. Lysefjorden Inn Ultramarathon follows the routes to Stavanger Tourist Association and is 62km and has a total of 2500m elevation. The race is scheduled for the sixth time on 2 June 2018 and is Rogalands hardest ultramarathon. The race is a distant race where the fastest person who run all the 62km wins. The race places great demands for the participants, but is an experience you rarely get in one sports competition. The terrain is airy and spectacular. On the actual marathon day, the quiet nature exchanges with chering, a contrast that often gives an adrenaline kick, but you will still have enough time to be alone with the mountain and the fjord. The course changes from running down to the fjord, to them highest mountain into the fjord. The runners will see Norway s most popular mountain - Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). On the other side of the fjord you will see Flørlitrappene, which has the world s longest wooden staircase in 4444 steps. Further in along the square you will look over to Kjerag with its characteristic Kjeragbolt. The race passes unique places like Hengjanenibbå (miniature of Pulpit Rock) and abandoned farms like Bratteli and Bakken that cling to the mountain side. Before reaching the finish line, the race will pass a big water magazine. To stretch boundaries and constantly improve and stay faster is an incredible kick. Much sits in the head, never give up - miles get to smile. The easiest sport is to run, it can also combine with an active everyday life. You can do it anywhere, at any time, it s free and the risk of damage is relatively small. Many add plans and new goals - The Lysefjorden Inn opens for registration on 2 January 2018 Lysefjord Running is the organizer of the race and aims to carry out this every year. 5 RACEINFORMATION Distance: 62 km Elevation: 2.500m Substrates: Terrain / road Run Cuts: Preikestolen Fjellstue, Songesand quai and Nordre Støstjærna (food station) Max Time Finish: 62km. 14,5t. Kl.23: 00 Lysebotn There will be 2 split times during the race. At about 7km and 25km. The trail is particularly demanding with many ups and downs and requires a lot of participants. Along the way, the race will have run cuts and a maximum finishing time. The race will have run cuts at Prekestolen Fjellstue, Songesand quai and near Nordre Stølstjærna. Participants who do not arrive at the above checkpoints at the specified time will not receive registered end time. If you quit the race, it is important that you inform the race leader immediately. If the participant chooses to quit the race, the closing time at Songesand will be a good place to do so because of ferry boat to Lysebotn or back to the starting area. 7 PRACTICAL INFORMATION By bus to Lauvik Saturday 17 June 2017 From Sandnes, it will take about 30 minutes and about 40 minutes from Stavanger to Lauvvik quay. 9 RACE DESCRIPTION The race starts at Oane Quai at 08:30 and follow road towards Tau (approx.7km). At Heiatjørna there is a path to Preikestolen Fjellstue - hilly terrain. From the lodge you follow the path towards the Pulpit. With the Lammatoknuten the trail divides the path - follow the path down a steep hill towards Bratteli and Bakken. After passing the Skogavatnet you will see Hengjande (majestic sight). Trail follows on the mountains (fantastic view down to the fjord) before you walk down into thick forest and on to Bratteli and Bakken farm (great place). From Bratteli, walk down (stone stairs) before crossing on the left Songesand (ulendt terreng ur). From Songesand follow the road (approx.5,5 km.) Before reaching Helmikstølen (Checkpoint at Helmikstøl). Furthermore, follow the tractor road (approx. 4.5km.) Daladalen where you pass Songedal Tourist Lodge. tractor road will cross the trail towards Fyljesdalsskaret. (from here you can see construction road opposite the valley). Furthermore, trail down towards Fyljesdalsvatnet for a long / steep hill up to the road where you turn right (the highest point of the race at about 700 meters). Follow the road (approx.13km.) Down towards Lysebotn- Lysefjorden Tourist Lodge. There will be 2 split times during the race. At about 7km and 25km. (Songesand quay) The trail is very demanding with many ups and downs and requires a lot of participants. 11 INSURANCE All participants who sign up for Lysefjorden Inn Ultramarathon must know about the different hazards and risks that this entails. Organizer can not be held liable for any kind of damage that should occur in connection with the event. Damage is meant here: - Damage to person - Damage to things. Organizer has no responsibility for theft. By signing up, you confirm that I have not or have had any diseases that may cause acute seizures and I confirm that I am not affected by alcohol or other drugs during the event. As a participant, you must be aware that you are not insured by the organizer Lysefjord Running if an accident / injury should occur during the event. CANCELLATION PERSONAL INFORMATION AND USE OF PERSONAL PHOTOS AND SITUATION PICTURES By signing up for our event, you agree that your name and image will be published in start and result lists, which will also be posted on web in searchable form, so that previous years results can also be found. These lists may also contain information about age, classes and club membership. Personal data and results will be stored in our database in accordance with the provisions of The Personal Data Act.
