The G2 stands for pure sailing pleasure, maximum performance and comfort. The stretched hull and the use of materials make it a true, 100% sailing craft. Agile, smooth. With a feel for the right trim and weight distribution. No wonder the g2 was declared the HISWA Amsterdam boat show in Boasting a 1m-draft only, this boat takes you across a large sailing area. You can explore coastal waters. The G2 features novelties, like the patented fold-away system for the outboard or electric engine that lets you pull the engine into a storage area behind the cockpit. For your maximum sailing pleasure, that area can be closed off. Like the Randmeer., the G2 came off the boards of the renowned Van de Stadt Design studio. The design oozes nerve, simplicity and excellent sailing qualities. In 2013, the G2 design was updated. By raising the floor, the forecabin can be locked better and the entire cockpit became self-bailing.

5 The perfect SAILING PROPERTIES In terms of speed and close-hauled sailing, the G2 boasts all the characteristics of a modern sailing yacht. The G2 is a light-weight craft with a flat and modern below the waterline hull. Pull in the sheet and you ll feel the G2 sprint away, also in light weather conditions. The small job and the large mainsail make it an easy to maneuver craft. The sails are easy to handle at high speeds and stronger winds. The standard jib furler adds to the boat s ease of handling. It means you can take the boat for a spin by all by yourself. The G2 weighs 750 kilos, including a 375 kilos of ballast. That plus a balanced, spade rudder on the transom makes the boat sail extremely close-hauled and highly maneuverable. If you see the G2 you immediately know this is a boat with pretentions. But is it just bluffing? To find out, one early spring day we took the G2 onto Lake Heeg. It was a day of gusty winds, largely week but building to almost Beaufort 4 in the afternoon. Under these circumstances, the G2 shows it s a not a boat that just looks good. On the contrary, don t believe the G2 has a sedate character. The G2 shows itself as a very spirited and fast boat, anything but just another run-of-the-mill keelboat. It jumps into action and listens very closely to the rudder. Be nice to the G2 and it repays your kindness in spades. In gusty Beaufort 2 and 3 conditions, the GPS tells us we easily get up to 5 to 5.5 knots. Ease the reins a bit and the G2 shows its potential without hesitation. Amazed, we read a speed of 6.5 to almost 7 knots. It can be trailered by a sedan. That means the G2 can be sailed anywhere, also abroad. New G2 design In 2013, together with Motio Development and Van de Stadt design, Jachtwerf Heeg crated a new G2 interior. A new cockpit and coaming mean - a more ergonomic cockpit and cockpit edge - a self-bailing cockpit - a modern look - more luxury and comfort By raising the floor and closing off the forecabin better, the cockpit has become full self-bailing. Apart from a higher cockpit floor, the G2 remains available with a deep cockpit. Mast and sails All G2s come with a new, white aluminum Neutmast with one set of spreader and diamond stays. The G2 mast can be easily lowered. In all, the boat has 26.5 m2 of sails. Aside from standard sails, there is the possibility of a light-weather spinnaker and, for heavier weather, a storm jib. The mainsail halyard and the trimming lines can be handled below deck. In its standard version, the G2 comes with a jib furling system on a below-deck drum. Revolutionary keel The G2 has a revolutionary keel, especially designed for speed and maneuverability. The bronze bulb keel has a natural anti-fouling quality.

9 Innovative MOTOR SYSTEM The G2 has space for a 5HP outboard engine. A patented folding system enables you to lift the engine from the water in one swift motion and store it in an area behind the cockpit. The engine is mounted on a stainless steel linked to a winch handle. By turning the handle you lift the engine from the water and place it sideways on the floor of the engine storage area. That area is closed off by two mall hatches. The engine is stored out of sight. You can also opt for an electric motor, the retractable electric ring engine. This unique, highly compact engine has a stainless steel lever. It renders 2.5KW of power from a lithium-ion battery that provides 2 to 3 hours of motoring. The G2 s patented motor system is truly brilliant! The boat s design included a 4-to-6HP outboard that can be folded away while sailing because every daysailer knows the drag of an outboard. The G2 outboard is mounted on a small stainless steel frame. It fits snugly into a storage space and is connected to a handle that turns the engine upward and stores it sideways on the floor of the storage area. Once the engine is up, two hatches close off the bottom of the storage area. The top can be closed by a 3-panel hatch leaving the motor invisible. What an invention! Super simple. The clumsiest sailor can retract the engine, eyes closed. The construction is solid and the operating handle can be released without the motor falling back. (Test impression Yacht Vision)

When heeling you can sit on the ergomomic coaming. Cockpit foot rails provide grip as do optional heeling straps. Safety The deep cockpit shelters you from splashing water and provides ample security against falling overboard. The decks have g2 is self-right craft been treated with a top-quality anti-skid coat. The compartments provide sufficient buoyancy. The G2 is a self-righting and self-bailing craft.

Weighing only 750 kilos, the G2 is a light-weight boat and almost half of that weight goes into the ballast. Designer Vande Stadt gave the G2 a modern below the waterline hull and a slender tin-bronze alloy keel and a spade rudder that reaches almost as deep. The G2 is a light-footed, comfortable boat. It reacts like a dinghy to every change of wind of shifting of weight. Two fingers on the helm suffice. The boat s most remarkable feature is a handle in the rear of the cockpit, part of an ingenious motor retraction system. The outboard sits in a shaft in front of the rudder. It can be easily pulled in. A few turns of the handle and the engine is first lifted out of the water and placed at a right angle to the boat s direction.
